Route One of the Hawthorn Hooves Stable Event
Just as the trees seem like they can get no thicker and the woods themselves seem to be as black as night around you, when the hours have passed and things look dim, the group comes across a clearing. Inside, watching the group of rescuers emerge from the woods, are several horses.
The search and rescue group is absolutely thrilled, but then the questions arise - what happens to them now?
This is a Route One horse! Remember you must first enter in the Route One prompt before you enter for any horses listed as route one. You may only win two horses per route, excluding the horses listed as "Special," of which you may only win one total.

Show Name: Doric Delie
Barn Name: Dorian
Gender: Stallion
Age: 2 Years, 4 Months
Height: 15.3hh
Halter: Artist's choice!
Discipline: Cross Country
Competition:
With ears pricked and white legs carrying him with high steps, Dorian weaselled with ease through the crowd of horses, completely oblivious of their panic. Or, perhaps he did recognize their panic, but he didn’t care. He could hear his mother behind him, calling for him, but if she was close enough for him to hear her calls, he’d be safe enough.
Side-stepping around a particularly panicked mare, the colt continued on his trot of the clearing, bright eyes searching for interesting things that he had never seen before. He stopped, lowering his head to inspect a strange leaf, but, with the pause, his mother got too close, and, with a playful snort, he thundered forwards, kicking up his heels with a playful buck. This was the best game he had ever played, there was no way he was going to let her catch him now!
Wriggling between to horses that were far too close, knowing it would give him at least two length’s lead in this game of chase, he narrowly but blissfully ignorantly avoided the snapping jaws of one of the many stallions who wandered the clearing, not willing to let some arrogant colt annoy him freely.
Snorting playfully, skittering around the small clearing at a pace far too rapid for the space available, he bobbed between legs and around trees, having the absolute time of his life during the newfound freedom that he was enjoying.
Until he heard it. Sweet and lilting, gentle and melodious, the song that he knew so well stopped him in his tracks, causing him to skid to a halt. His mother’s melody, sung in the same sweet tones as he knew in the deep recesses of his memory. Nickering gently, as though apologizing for his misbehaviour, he began to lope back in the direction he had come from, returning to his mother’s side with a dipped, bashful head. Although he remained with his momma, with every strange sound or unusual sight, his head would shoot in that direction, ears pricked and legs longing to explore once again.
