Name: Asrai
Gender: Female
Name Meaning: The asrai are aquatic fae in English folklore. The story tells of a fisherman who captured one and put it in his boat. The fae pleaded for freedom in an unknown language and when the fisherman touched it, his skin burned as if it was on fire. He covered the asrai in weeds and it's voice started to get quieter and quieter until in eventually melted away, leaving a puddle of water in the fisherman's boat because they will perish if left direct sunlight for too long. Other tales say they live for hundreds of years and once every century they swim up to the surface of the water to bask in the moonlight which helps them grow. Asrai (the collie) acts as if she is one of these fae, she doesn't like the sun too much and dislikes the heat, but she loves baths and night time walks.
