There’s a legend of an old, wise owl that once lived in the great tree outside the house. It watched over the children who played beneath its boughs, it kept the house itself free of vermin alongside any pets of the families that lived in the walls. But a hunters family moved in, and the owl was shot as a trophy by an unconcerned teen; the father was greatly upset, but nothing came from the incident overall. Now stuffed and mounted in the houses den, the owl is who haunts the house. Angry at the injustice for all it had done to watch over the house and it’s inhabitants the owl will appear from nowhere, angry calls and hissing echoing all throughout the home. Having already lived an unnaturally long life, some believe the owl is not what really haunts the place but something in the house itself, manifested as an owl to watch over things. But only the ghostly owl appears now, chasing off anyone who steps foot inside.
