Amethyst eyes peered down at the crystal laid upon the table. It seemed innocent enough, a pale sky blue that faded darker toward the tapered end. A bolt of whisping black pierced through the center and danced up the sides in wandering stroke. A single black leather cord threaded through the hole punched through the top to make a simplistic and neat looking charm. It was suppose to be a necklace, worn with love around the neck but every time they thought of slipping it over their head it felt like being plunged into an ice bath of black water, somewhere deep in the ocean.

Lost, forgotten, alone.
It whispered of the monsters that dwelled within the abyss, expanses of space and time both unknown and unknowable. An inanimate object that that at once held all of creation's secrets and promised their inevitable end.

The crystal's pulse was invisible to all but Creed as they stared down at it. It was a slow damning thrum that marched to a beat all to familiar as their heart felt about to beat out of their chest, ears ringing and eyes unfocused. Worlds around could be created or stolen in the snap of a finger and they would be none the wiser.

They didn't know where it came from but one thing was for certain. That necklace was cursed and so now were they.

Lavender often ties it in a bow around their neck, or around their head.
They also occasionally tie it around the end of their hair, or around their tail. They sometimes even braid it into their own hair.

Wearing it makes Lavender feel happier, even if it's just a small accessory.

They actually own a long pastel green ribbon thread, and simply cut a new ribbon when they need to replace their old one.
But they never wear more than one ribbon at a time. That would ruin the simplicity.

Prompt: a pale beige girl scout sash that her memaw knitted for her. growing up, paloma was always fascinated with girl scouts. the day she got accepted into troop 1257 was the happiest day of her life. that was, until the minivan pulled up with three hundred boxes of cookies. paloma spotted the cookies a mile away and ran, not away from the cookies in fear of having a sugar coma, but running towards them. in less than three minutes, paloma had ate one hundred boxes of cookies and was being yelled at by everyone. needless to say, she was kicked out of the troop and banned from ever being a girl scout again. upset and heartbroken, paloma turned to her memaw for help and advice. instead, the cookie-addicted sweetheart was gifted a hand knitted sash. it has exactly three pins on it, a cookie for the awfully hilarious memory, a bird after paloma's namesake, and a purple wagon to remind paloma that no matter where she is in life, her memaw will always be there to lift her up. and,, perhaps bring a cookie or one thousand along with her.
