Down in the pumpkin patch, you'll see her wonder. Unable to decide on the perfect one to plunder. Shadows creep along the edges of her vision, interrupting her from her indecision. "Curiosity killed the cat," they say. "but satisfaction brought it back" she'll play. Goose-bumps prick along the spine. When asked to come her friends simply can't decline. The autumn chill beckons them forth. Safety in numbers as they travel north. Today will be a merry day without fear in their hearts. Finding the perfect pumpkin in the wild is a very fine art. Monsters and spooks may make you cry, but Halloween is a day for friends and baked pies. Hearing noises so creepy she regrets what she's done. Upon seeing it was an owl they all laugh at her one by one. Over rivers and on leaves, they have forgotten where they were going. But half the fun is the unknowing. When she arrives home she eats her mother's sweet treats and thinks about her day while tucked under her sheets.

Ah, thank you so much!!! I’m so grateful to take home such a beautiful pumpkin kitty - sorry he’s so rotten on the inside lol. And I really appreciate your kind words about my writing, I had a lot of fun envisioning this scene!
