Dear Diary. This is my three-hundredth journal entry, on the night of the first day of Change Fire.

Earlier this very night the Avians attacked nadir and the other Chiropterans and I were forced to grab Flitter and run. It was the weirdest experience, seeing Nadir fall behind us like a ball thrown far away. And then we hit Petrichor's atmosphere. It burned, and i felt like I was on fire. Everyone got knocked back out of our bat forms because it was impossible to concentrate. And after that we couldn't hold on to Flitter anymore. I hope she's safe. Many of the others weren't able to stay conscious, but i wouldn't let myself fall asleep. And then we where falling, falling so fast i had to shut all my eyes. I couldn't see where i was falling until i landed in something cold, and wet that tried to drag me down. It sprayed everywhere and roared in my ears. When i got back to the surface of the liquid, i found it tasted strange, cold and almost tasteless. It wasn't as thick as Ambrosia either. The darkness of the night made it look a dark blue, altogether i think it may have been water, that petrichorian substance. Hopefully it is, because that means it wont be poisonous, which is good because i think I swallowed some. When i managed to get out of the water- i really hope it was water- everything around was so much color! Green all over the ground, and big tall things- trees?- full of red and orange and gold. I think I am not close to society, because I couldn't hear anything familiar. I did hear lots of sounds, though. Maybe animals? I didn't recognize any of the ones I saw though. And that water liquid made funny sounds, gurgling and swishing like it was alive and playful. I ended up climbing a tree to sleep in because i was scared of the animals i did not know. I had too climb it twice though, because the first time i climbed it, its tree-arm complained loudly and then fell off. I apologized very much before climbing again and trying several arms before I laid down on one that did not complain. It was weird to be in the air, but the tree's colors covered me so I felt safe.

P.P.S. I have since learned the natives to this world call the season of Change Fire "Fair", and that they celebrate the first day as the Fair Equinox, a day where the day and night are equal lengths. Their customs are very strange.

Dear Journal, it is my 7th day on this world. This world has many strange things that I know I haven't encountered before, and the daytime is so bright, colors so vibrant, they hurt my eyes, forcing me to investigate and travel at night.
This is the first time we've met, the first time I've laid claw to page, so I guess I must introduce myself. I'm Blick.
The reason I'm writing ti you today is that I've found a group of others like me. Wanders who found themselves here with the distinct knowledge they were foreigners but without memories to prove it. The leader of our little group suggested we write down our observations, get some clues to where we are and where we're from. So here goes.
When I awoke, I found my fur covered with gritty sand that'd been blown around by the wind. This seemed familiar, although the texture was wrong. I felt as though it should be more dust than sand.
The space around me was very... yellow. Fitting for a savannah, I suppose, but strange to me. Everything was so saturated, the blue waters I came across, the dark green leaves and the brown trunks and stems. So unfamiliar in color yet like it should remind me of something.
I met lions with muted, camoflaging coats and occasionally one with a bright accent, but I stayed away, knowing these were not like me. They were the natives, and I was the invader. In a conflict, I was almost guaranteed to lose.
Oh, the leader says it's time to get going. Well, write you later I guess.

Journal entry 508. Day believed to be a Tuesday.

Every day I spend here there is more strangeness.

An example, they count the days in groups of 7. This is most odd to me. Today is what is called a Tuesday. It is a strange celebration that occurs once every 7 days. They do not acknowledge the Tuesday in words. They do not do anything in actions. They only know it is Tuesday in their minds. I think it is a spiritual celebration of a sort. It is of much privilege to be able to experience Tuesday with them. I am told tomorrow is known as a Wednesday. This day seems to be another celebration of the mind. They seem to be very spiritual and have given sacred names to each day.

Today I saw many things. The first was what they call Cloud. Cloud is what they named the large sky creatures that roam in the sky. Cloud can change form to look like many things. They like to sometimes look at Cloud and they find joy in spotting the many forms it has. An example of this is ‘Hey, look that Cloud is like a Snake’. (Snake is the name they give to the ropes that hiss. I tried picking one up and it tried to bite my paw. It is very strange rope. Maybe the bite function is to attach the Snake to things. ) Cloud change color as well as it shape. When Cloud are sad they change to be darker. Sometimes Cloud cry and the tears land on me. It makes me also cry to see Cloud so sad. I wonder what Cloud are sad about. When Cloud is happy it is light and it does not cry.

The best thing i saw is Trees. Trees wave at you sometimes. Trees make rustling sounds. I think that is the Trees talking. Trees sometimes talk with Cloud as well. I have been attempting to talk with a Trees. It was very quiet. All the Trees went quiet. I may have said something of offence in Trees language, but i know not for sure. I will try to improve my Trees talking and say sorry then. Trees do not seem to move as Trees legs are underground. Sometimes Trees many legs stick out the ground. I cover the legs with dirt so the legs do not get cold. Maybe I can make friends with the Trees by being kind to them. The Trees seem to be most judgemental. I am most sorry.

Tomorrow I will give Trees a gift. I am thinking Snake make a good gift. I hope the Trees like my gift.

I have been on the planet Felidae for a week now, yet its oddities do not seem to fade. I found another strange beast today, one which the locals call a 'penguin.' My guide was most excited to see it. He said that the penguins are wary of beasts such as himself, and that it is rare to see them so up close. He thinks that perhaps my unusual pelt coloring is what attracted the penguins. Whatever it was, they came right up to us. A penguin is a type of bird, but it does not fly. It reminds me a bit of the Porgs I met last year, only it is much taller and narrower. It also has fewer colors, only black and white and grey and sometimes a little yellow. There are many kinds of penguins, each with its own style of colors. They waddle on their feet, much like the Porgs, but the penguins have no visible legs. Their body appears to simply rest right on their webbed feet. They have flipper-like wings that resemble those of the Porgs as well. But their mouths are different. Penguins have beaks which are very long and narrow, unlike the soft mouths of the Porgs. Penguins use these beaks to catch fish.

Some penguins carry their eggs and their chicks on top of their feet. Isn't that strange? They do not nest like songbirds. They have just one egg, and it is kept warm by a pouch that nearly covers their feet. They shuffle even more strangely than normal, so that the egg does not fall off of their feet. And a pair will pass the egg between them to take turns carrying it.

I have drawn some sketches of the penguins on the next page. Note the angular body, perfect for swimming quickly through water. I would like to observe them doing so, but I have been informed that I would likely freeze in the water. I shall attempt to find a way to reduce that risk.

First Sunrise of first day of “Fall”

Wow. There’s many things to see here! I am very odd looking to these friendlies, so I was very happy to learn they’ll let me in to their “proud”! I can only guess it’s a clan, but they seem very proud of it ((crudely drawn smiley face))

So the Proud have these groups they send out to get food for everyone - I wanted to join and they let me, and I have never been so scared ever! I swam into the water, and there was water above which fell down, and I saw something jump out and leap down toward me! I screamed, a few of the Proud laughed, but that was fine because I have never seen a “samon” before, they have teeth like some of the water animals we had back home, but it just hit got in the water and swam away. (Turns out I am meant to be getting these for food!)

But then the Proud did get scared like me and they told me to get out. I liked it in the water, so I felt sad, I was even more sad when I saw what the Proud did not like. It was SO SMALL! It was quite long, was green, and had a long long mouth with sharp teeth like me! The Proud said it was a “Allygayter” and that they are bad. It tried to hurt us so I showed it who was boss and bit it! My friends were scared? Or worried, I do not know. But they did not like my teeth, its not normal here to have so many sharp teeth like me, but the “Allygayter” did. I think I like the “Allygayter”.

Then we went back to the Proud, and on the way I saw something REALLY REALLY TINY, even more tiny than the Allygayter! It looked just like me, except very small, and it had a “shell” on it’s back. It had two eye stalks like me - I think I like the “Snale” best!

I’m very tired now, the Proud said that there are lots of animals that I have not seen, they said over a hundred! I do not know how I will learn so many!

Okay, well I will sleep now. Tomorrow will be not as crazy I hope!

Day 1 of scouting mission

I have just landed on planet XJ-76 for observational and archival purposes. Several others have been recording conversations from life forms in this planet but I will be the first to set foot on it.

The land is cooler than Mother World and it is what they call “raining.” I have discovered I do not like rain it makes me colder.

The sky is a gray and swirly. I like the “clouds” that move and would like to hold one.

Despite the rain I continue to walk through the land. Occasional plants can be seen but no area within my sight is as lush as Mother a world, nonetheless the plants are still intriguing.

I can see an animal in the sky now that the rain has stopped and the clouds are beginning to disappear. It circles and I like the noise it makes. I tried to yell up to it to converse but I don’t think it could hear me. I need to find an animal I can speak with so I can further understand this planet.

I found another animal in a “puddle” left behind by the rain. It makes noises from its throat and has a very long tongue. It reminded me of some beings that live on my home land so I immediately began talking to it excitedly but it would not respond. I desperately tried again informing the animal of my importance and how this was not the time to play games but to no avail.

I of course will not give up easily in finding the animals that communicate but right now I need to rest.

As I sit here I noticed a figure (much larger than the previous animals!) seeming to head my way. I just yelled “Salutations good friend!” And was met by a “chuckle” (according to my sound index). Apparently though depending on tone they can be malicious or kind so I am not helped much.

The creature emerged and is currently speaking with me! I asked it if I could pause for a second to write down some notes and they seemed as excited to communicate as well as. They look surprisingly similar to me which is intriguing considering we are from different planets. They differ greatly in color (they are a shiny black) and they only have one set of eyes.

Once I calibrated my translator we were able to talk with little to no problems! They have explained like me they like to document and observe the world around them. They told me that at daybreak we can go back to their pride (where there will be more of its kind!) and they are willing to share the info they have gathered with me.

I can barely contain my excitement! But for now I should try to sleep. As I write this I look at the sky which is now clear above. The stars are beautiful and they remind me of home.
