Hey everyone! HeyRei has asked me to help her judge a few of her comps since she's been a little busy lately. We apologize for the wait. So without further ado, I'd like to congratulate homeward as the winner for this lil rascal.

homeward wrote:
      username: homeward
      name: phoebe
      gender: female
storage thread: pending [ just came across these lovely adopts <3 ]
      pet or stray: pet
      collar/harness: #630727 [ mulberry ]
prompt: one of phoebe's favorite toys is her stuffed hedgehog, hokey. whenever her owner is away, she finds comfort in cuddling with her trusty companion until they return. on one of these days, however, phoebe woke up to discover that hokey had gone missing. she searched every nook and cranny around her owner's apartment. normally, she was a well-behaved girl. only now did she decide to tear up the entire place in hopes that her friend would come around. at last, her owner returned from a long day's work, kicking off her shoes.

she called out phoebe's name, finding it peculiar that there had been no response firsthand, since phoebe routinely greeted her at the door. her owner wandered around the house, clicking her tongue as she quickly became more and more curious as time had passed. however, as soon as she turned the corner to her living room, she gasped at what was waiting for her attention all those hours ago.

there phoebe sat, among balls of cotton ripped open from a few throw pillows, various scratches littering the floor. and in the center of it all, in between her tiny paws, laid hokey, plain as day.

I liked that it was short and sweet, and I could really relate with the owner! Haha. My own dog is a sweetheart, but boy oh boy! Even the sweet ones can be little demons some days. I can vision the owner's expression so well in my head, and even from the dog's perspective. I dunno how many times I have trashed my bedroom looking for something that I needed.

I'd also wish to give a Honorable Mention [HM] to bmkmb for their entry! It was a very close call between these two entries, since I also adored hearing the two sides of the conversation between the pet and owner. It made me a chuckle a bit. Congratulations!

And I would just like to add that I did enjoy everyone's entries, and to keep up the amazing work. You all are terrific <3
