Today I learned about sun dogs!!
They don't really appear where I live, but it was suggested to do a lambie based off a sun dog!
(and a moon dog—we'll see if I get the time ehe)

This is a short personality/backstory comp!

I don't quite remember the first time I opened my eyes. I suppose that's really a silly thing to say, very few do after all. But my story is a bit different from those of others, I guess I won't think too deeply on that. My name is solsvard meaning sun sword. I suppose that really sums myself up. I was chosen by the sun to be a guardian. I was changed through it. My horns began to glow, my eyes as well. I don't remember what I thought when I first opened them to the new light. I remember how it felt though, at once fire and ice. The sun- however - is a different story. It is not the true sun, it's a creature like you and I- an elder. It came to me in a dream, It's voice was also fire and ice. They showed me a land, one far an vast. They asked me to keep it safe and I agreed that I would. I woke in that world, transported from my home. The land stretched on forever, nothing but long swaying grass as far as the eye could see. The elder was besides me and spoke once more, "you will be here for a while. My world is growing and I need someone to take care of it." I walked by their side for a while and they looked into my bright eyes, "look below you, do you see what I speak of?" I looked down the small hills and past my feet. I could see more than I could before. I looked to the horizon and distant fields came to view. I turned to the ground and I could see beneath the dirt. Small lines wriggled within and I noticed they were roots. This world was growing. New plants were coming up very quickly and I could see animals appearing in the far distance. "Keep my world safe," and with that the elder disappeared.

I spent years there. I grew sharp in the ways of swords man ship and earned my own gleaming sword. I fended the prey from predators, for the elder wanted a peaceful world. Soon all that existed were small creatures like rabbits and sparrows. Towards the end of my time there grew jungles and oceans of freshwater. The land was plentiful and the edges of the world still expanded. The elder appeared at my side after seven years of solitude and spoke to me. Their voice was a powerful shock in my years of silence, the only voice my own. But the words were soft and that of a promise, "my dear solsvard you have done well. Your time is finished and you have raised my world as it should be. You have never complained once and so you shall be paid well for this." I raised my head in sorrow to the elder, I would miss their world- this dream world that they had created.

My eyes opened again, this time to darkness. Not the darkness of night but the rich darkness of morning, when the promise of light can be felt in your soul. I stood, I was back in my bed at home. This confused me, it had been years but my home was just as I had left it. When morning did come I found a neighbor and politely asked, (for fear that my glowing eyes may scar them) the year. It was only day after the one that I had left... I had spent years inside a dream concocted by an elder but no time had passed. That night I found my gift underneath my pillow. It brought me much joy and I read it several times over. I could go back to the world I had watched over every night if I wanted to. All I had to do was ask. This was the only gift I truly wanted. I closed my eyes for the night and when I opened them again I was in the field once more. I found my animal friends, my boat I had constructed, the tree house I had built in the jungle, and the elder that I trusted there as well. This was my true home now, in the dream of an elder.

Solare sighed heavily, 10 years she'd been searching and there was still no sign of the Elder Of The Sun. It was like she'd simply ceased to exist and to top it all off Solare had heard rumors that the Elder Of The Moon had also vanished much in the same way as her ladyship.

"Oh my lady, where have you gone?" Solare breathed into the night air, the darkness lit up from the glow that always accompanied the gold and blue lambie. What could have possibly happened to make two elders simply, vanish? Was there some dangerous unknown being wandering the realm of dreams? Or was it some strange unknown cosmic happening. Solare scowled, being a devotee was all she knew and yet she couldn't fufill her duties wandering aimlessly with no lady to serve!

"Though my light is bright it is nothing compared to the comforting glow of hers! WHY DID YOU VANISH AND ABANDON ME?!" And there it was, what had been plaguing the Lambie for so long but she hadn't dared voice. Out in the open for just anyone to hear. Solare simply collapsed, sobbing wordlessly to herself. What was she without her ladyship to dote on and watch over? Nothing...

Prompt: the sun was her only friend, the moon was her enemy. She will wait till the moon when down and the sun came up. A flash of light made her look up, an illusion in the sky that made her wonder. She pulled her ears back and started to think. Now the light was her friend, till the moon came up. She frowned as the sun set and set off for home. A light had opened her mind and she realized how lonely she was.

A voice in her head told her to leave but she knew what she had to do, find a friend. The halo on her head bumped up and down as she ran, she knew she would find a friend soon.

Since the death of his mother when he was very young and his father's honorable death as a public servant, he made it his solemn duty to save and assist others. It's never that easy, he realized. Looking like an angel, his presence can calm even the most sickly and pained lambicorn, and the light of his halo is considered sacred to some. Truly, he has become the symbol of hope that his outward appearance seems to represent, but such a responsibility comes with a price. The undersides of his paws and hooves are ever cracked, wrapped in bandages, his eyes weary from long days and nights. Talking to him, though, you'll never see his kind smile falter- such is the duty of a god.

Despite his peaceful expression, he's never really had a peaceful life. She was orphaned as a small pup (or, uh, lamb, whatever it is) and was left alone in a big, dark, unfriendly world. Due to that, she ended up having to fend for herself for a very long time, and she learned early on that she couldn't depend on others. After getting betrayed numerous times, he decided to distance himself from the rest of the world, making the daytime, and the sun, his only friend. When night approaches, he always stays in the darkest areas to sleep, away from the cold sharp light of the moon.

One day, however, on a day when the full moon shone bright, she encountered another lambie, who introduced herself to be "Piper." Despite how standoffish and closed off Oriana was to her, Piper never stopped trying to make friends with her. Eventually, days became weeks and weeks became months and month became years, until Oriana finally caved and opened up a bit to Piper. They told each other bits about themselves, but, Oriana still wary, he only ever leaked bits and pieces about his life, but never the whole thing.

Approximately four years after they met, Oriana suddenly disappeared. Nobody knows why, or what had happened. She simply disappeared. Piper, who was also in her own predicament at the time, got the news very late, since nobody else really knew or cared about Oriana. Oriana had learned to shield all emotions and motives to the rest of the world early on, and other lambies usually skirted around her if they ever came across her, as if she didn't exist. Of course, it was all part of her strategy. But when she disappeared without warning, Piper was the only one who remembered her and she didn't know what to think. Oriana wasn't the type to just leave, but not a single clue was left about where she had gone.
