â™ name : Cirrus - A type of wispy cloud. I wanted to go with something beach-y because of her colour palette, but everything I thought of, like 'Beach' or 'Ocean' felt too overused. I saw the spade on her tail and thought of naming her that, but it didn't fit her very well. I think Cirrus sounds very nice on her

"Come in the water, Cirrus!" Half a dozen young Keldines splashed about in the water, yelping and howling as they played. But one pup was off to the side, golden fur obscured by patchy shrubbery. Her ocean-blue scales refracted a thousand beams of light from the dying sun as she lay peacefully, gazing upon a lone azure flower. "Hello, Mr. Flower," the Keldine pup said. "I'm Cirrus. Do you want to be friends?" The flower seemed to almost perk up at her soft voice, which Cirrus took as enough of an answer. She gently took the stem of the plant between her paws, tugging it out from the ground and carefully picking it up. With a swish of her tail, the sand-covered Keldine rushed back to her den, where her mother was already waiting for her.
"What a pretty flower," Her mother said with a smile.
Cirrus set down the flower and replied, "It reminded me of someone,"
Days passed, then weeks, then months, as Cirrus waited, waited for one specific day. Cirrus woke up rather early on said tantalizingly sunny morning, gently picking up her prized possession- that small blue flower, the diamond in the rough, that still held its sapphire sheen, not a single wilted petal marring its appearance. She quietly crept out of the den, then went at a sprint through the forest, the path she traced memorised since the day she first walked it. Finally, after a long trek through the woods, Cirrus came about a bright clearing, grass fluffy and springy under her paws. In the middle lay a large stone- Cirrus remembered the day she had picked it out, a year to the day, making sure to choose the biggest one she could find. The turned ground had since been covered with emerald grass, the only indication of something ever happening here being an ocean-colored scale laid against the stone.
"Hey, dad," Cirrus said, tears pricking her eyes. She gently placed the flower in front of the stone. "I hope you like it."
"It reminded me of you."
