Why wish on a star when you can pray to those who made it?

Lumikki was sick. She'd been sick since she was a kid. The doctors gave her a 25% chance to live past 20. She was already 19 and a half. She was forced to lay down all day and hated it. So, instead of laying down and sleeping at night, she'd climb to the roof of the hospital and wish upon the falling stars. Every day she wished to get better. Never did she notice the boy who followed her and wished for her to get better too. Until one day when he confronted her. They built a friendship, a lifetime one. She loved him dearly and when the time came and she could barely get out of bed the doctors told her a donor had been found. She accepted and waited for her boy to come back but instead his mother did. She gave her a letter. The letter said: You stole my heart the moment I saw you, now I hope you keep it safe for me, it's now yours.

Once upon a time, Eira the princess of Snowfall stood near the wishing well of the castle, long taken over by her aunt who was to be ruler until Eira became of age. Life at the castle was rough, she could almost sense the lack of fondness towards her. Days on end her aunt would nit pick her for everything she did wrong from the way she spoke all the way to how she walked. Barely was she aloud to leave the castle grounds and barely was she permitted to have friends.

The only time she would feel comfort was when she would walk the gardens of the castle smelling the colorful and exotic flowers that her mother had planted as a commemoration of her birth. Eira’s favorite flower were the snowdrops that bloomed each winter, it was her mother’s favorite season. Seeing the flowers bloom each winter made her feel much comfort, as seeing the flowers each season made her feel less alone.

So here she stood, in the dead of winter peering into the wishing well she and her father had built as a fun little project years ago, the water never seemed to freeze over.

She thought for a moment, a silly thought at that. She wanted to make a wish, a wish to have an adventure outside the castle gates, to have the freedom from her aunt and the duties that followed. She took a silver coin from her pocket and held it close to her heart, her eyes tightly closed. “Oh wishing well, I long for an adventure, a place where I’m not alone, I wish to make new friends aside from those made of snow. Will you grant me this freedom oh wishing well? I promise not to tell if you wish me well.”

Kitty stood over the crumbling "wishing" well just outside the trailer park she lived in. The well itself was hidden within a thick cluster of trees and was almost invisible amongst the thick green and brown moss that coated it and it's surroundings.

Looking down into the dark mouth of the ancient structure Kitty sighed.

"Dearest fairy of the well - don't worry, it's me, Kitty - I'm here to make a wish..."

The heifer looked up momentarily back towards the direction of her home and sighed before looking back down the well.

"I know it may be a lot to ask - er, wish... but I wish that my bunny come back home. She disappeared last night and my neighbors haven't seen her... I thank you for granting my wish of speaking to the nearby animals but my bunny never told me where she was going. It has me worried that the fox took her in the night.

My bunny is black with one brown spot on her left back foot on her last toe. Her name is 'Mongolia'... She's my best friend. I know my neighbors can't speak to the animals and you're the only other person I can trust with this.

In short; I wish that my bunny will come back unharmed.

Thank you."

With a slight nod and hard swallow, Kitty left the well and ventured back to her trailer, her mind racing but hopeful that the fairy of the well could grant her wish once again.
