Buttermilk #855 - ...

Postby rockosaur » Wed Jun 10, 2020 4:29 pm

Changed the title

You hear rustling in the forest, and hear strange whispering. Morbid curiosity causes you to go closer to the sound. You see thier pale eyes lock on to you and let out a gravelly voice they say "Hello there"

For this prompt whats your next step, how do you interact with them?
For this interaction you can use just yourself or if you have a Buttermilk you can use
Fell free to have them verbally/physically react with each other

Code: Select all

Prompt: ft. my sanguine girl, Teshi
"Oh my word! How long have you been out here? Do you need some help?" Teshi burst, rushing over to the strange cow and pulling her out of the foliage and into a patch of light. The cow seemed stunned, recoiling from her touch, but Teshi didn't notice. "You sound so hoarse! Here, drink some of my water! Are you lost? Where are you from? What's your name?" Teshi continued, oblivious to the horrified cow.
"Why aren't you scared of me?" the cow croaked, refusing the offered water and slinking back into the shadows.
"That's your na- oh, what? Why would I be scared of you? I'm scared for you! I'm sorry, but did you say why you're out here?" Teshi asked, really looking at the cow for the first time. Her pale eyes flicked around uncertainly and she twitched and fidgeted, visibly uncomfortable.
"I'm hiding," the cow mumbled in reply.
"Excuse me? Can you explain?" Teshi pushed.
"Everyone says I'm scary. They're afraid of me. They call me a wendigo, a freak, but I was born like this," the cow growled, her voice rising. "I have no friends, no where to go. So I'm hiding. Escaping. Is that good enough for you?"
"Oh, I'm so sorry! That's so unfair! But you shouldn't be staying in this forest; it's unsafe. Please come with me instead!" Teshi urged.
The cow glared at her, unbudging. "Why should I trust you?"
"Honestly, you shouldn't. Everyone has hurt you, but I can at least promise that I won't. Besides, you need a friend. What do you say?"
"I- I don't know... I wouldn't even know how to make a friend..." the cow mumbled, her nervous ticks increasing.
"Don't worry about that! Come on, and I'll show you. First of all, what's your name?" Teshi said, gently leading the cow down the path she had come down.
"Wendy... wh-what's yours?" the cow croaked, hesitantly following Teshi while still keeping her distance.
"Who would have known? You're a natural! My name's Teshi, and I can't wait to get to know you!"

Prompt:
Rebel trotted up to the new cow. Before beginning to speak, she visually assessed her. She seemed skinny and a little sick. Rebel walked up slowly.
"Hello, there," the new cow said. It was interesting, her voice was low and had a rough sound.
Rebel smiled and said "Hello!" Then, almost as if Rebel had triggered it, the new cow head-butted Rebel. Rebel pushed him over rather easily and asked, "What was that for?"
"You are, you are evil incarnate," the new cow said.
"What? My name is Rebel what is yours?" Rebel said.
"Wendigo," the new cow said.
"I'm not a wendigo!" Rebel was annoyed.
"No, my name is Wendigo," Wendigo said.
"Oh, but why did you head-butt me?" Rebel asked again.
"I can sense the evil in you. You fill the air with it. Almost as if... you are a demon." Wendigo said.
"Oh, okay. You are crazy." Rebel said walking way.
"I'm not crazy and you know it. You know that you are evil. I will pull it out of you. I promise." Wendigo said as her last words to Rebel for that day.
Rebel made a conclusion:
Wendigo is crazy and is not to be messed with. Avoid her. She made a mental note of this for future reference.

Prompt:
Aphrodite wasn’t too worried about the stranger before her. If they were hostile, they would’ve done something to her by now. However, there the lone stranger stood, in front of her with pale empty eyes staring into her soul. Aphrodite would be lying if she said she wasn’t afraid. However, she was one who knew how to keep her cool and play her cards right.
Judging by the body language, they were just as cautious and anxious as her. Aphrodite took a deep breath and calmly introduced herself before stating that she meant no harm. She just wanted to get away from the herd for a while and got curious. The stranger seem to understand and her body relaxed slightly.
    “Wisp.” She muttered, barely audible.
Aphrodite smiled. It must’ve been her name.
    “Hello Wisp.” She greeted.
The sun finally peaked out from the clouds and shone down onto the forest. Under the light, both were shocked at each other’s appearance. They were each beautiful in their own rights. Somehow, Wisp looked less intimidating under the light. Aphrodite smiled.
It would be nice to get to know a new girl like her.

Featuring Solene
The strangers pale eyes connected with Solenes darker ones, simply filled with curiosity. After all why she wouldn't be curious about meeting a stranger in the woods? It's not as the dark coated cow held any ill intent, she'd simply been out for a walk.

"Hello stranger" Solene offered to the ashen cow who in return dipped her head in a secondary greeting.

"What brings you to these woods?" The strange cow asked, head tilting to one side slightly.

"I was going a little stir crazy at home, so I came to the woods to escape for a little while" Solene replied softly with a small smile. Pale eyes glimmered slightly in the shadows as the other cow nodded slowly.

"That feeling is not uncommon I suppose, what might your name be?" Was the reply.

"Solene and I'm very pleased to meet you" the black cow answered beeming in a delighted manner that seemed to amuse the ashen cow.

"The whisperers of the world call me, Forbidden" was her reply. An extremely odd thing to say but it wasn't any of her business if this new friend was at least a tiny bit strange.

Prompt: (I know a story wasn’t asked for, but might as well do something to pass the time.

The voice caused me to jump, I should not be intimidated by appearances as one cannot help how they look, it’s not that they were ugly or disfigured but a mysterious aura emitted off their body. Perhaps I was just on edge from being lost in the forest in the dead of night after taking a wrong turn on the campground trails.

“Are you lost?” The cow asked?

“I am, I was trying to return to my campsite, but I had taken the wrong trail, everything looks so similar at night.” I responded backing away as she neared closer to my small silhouette, I didn’t realize how she easily towered over me, I watched her pale eyes trailing up and down my body. I wish I could read minds as her expression was unreadable.

“Oh, I find many lost travelers around this time, I know the campground like the back of my hoof. I can take you to the main office, surely you should be able to find your way back to your campsite from their. Come follow me.”
Her words rolled off her tongue like sweet velvet, it was so alluring and hypnotic. Never have I heard a voice so captivating before, my mind fell almost into a trance like state, it was so calming that it beckoned me further into forest.

The further we ventured the more nervous I became, but I could not resist her voice, I almost forgot she was still speaking to me, engrossed in tales of her travels to many lands. Soon we found ourselves standing at the office building, though something seemed off about it. Nature had long taken it over, vines wrapped around the porch fence and climbing up the walls engulfing the building in its natural beauty.

“Are you sure this is the place?” I asked looking around, the area was an exact replica of where my friends and I had checked in. The parking lot lay in the same location, the pond, the large wooden bear that proudly held up the national flag of the land and so much more. But everything seemed to be covered in nature, the lights no longer shining brightly like the other nights, some even flickering in the fog that had seemed to magically appear.

“I am sure, why not come into the building? I am sure there are maps of the campground, you’ll be able to find your campsite if you use one. Don’t be scared, you’re safe with me” The cow spoke almost as if they could hear my heart beat and smell the fear rolling off by body. I tried to resist, but my body betrayed me blindly following the cow into the office building.

A panicked gasp erupted from my mouth as I backed into the wall, dozens of cow skeletons lay scattered amongst the ground, some with decaying meat still clinging to them. “W-what’s going on? Who are you? What are you?” I asked frozen in place like a deer in headlights thousands of questions filling my head.

The cow let out a crazed laugh. “I am Gladys the park owner, don’t be afraid dear, I don’t intend on hurting you. After all you’re very important to me at this very moment. I am Wendicow, I had this curse set upon me one night after consuming a specific kind of meal.....It tasted so good, though I tried to resist it I felt my resolve slipping each single time I had returned to consume this particular meal until I became it. I guess the saying you are what you eat has some truth to it.”

For what seemed to be hours we stared at each other in silence, running wasn’t an option as my legs felt glued to the floor. What would happen to me if I ran? Would I make it out alive?

Gladys smiled, “Don’t worry dear it won’t hurt.”

“Hey Pink, wake up!” My friend shouted. I quickly shot up from my sleeping bag looking around frantically.

“Geez Pink, did you have a nightmare or something?” He asked pulling me up off the ground.

“It’s nothing” I responded exiting the tent relieved that everything that had happen was a dream, it all seemed so real.

After packing up our site we checked into the office handing the woman at the front desk our campsite label.

“Have a good day, please come back soon!” The at the front desk spoke taking the tickets from my friend.

“Bye Gladys! We will be back next weekend” My friend spoke causing me to stop in my tracks..... Surely it’s just coincidence.

“Hey Pink, that’s a cool cow tail you got, did you get it from Etsy?” My friend asked.

So many lovely stories! I think I'll do a comp again like this
in the future since these were all so fun to read!
