They would be moving away, in autumn.

There was so little time, and even less that they could spend together.

They had always been so close. Now, they would barely even see one another.

The scrapbook that she held contained so many photos, so many cherished memories. Why did they have to go?

Two weeks were all they had, and she had ruined everything. That couldn't be her goodbye, their last moment. Would they even want to see her, after she had taken off like that? After she had been so bitter and selfish?

An apology wouldn't undo anything, but, if they were going to leave, Mirabell wanted them to know that she was sorry, that she should never have said those words. Her friend was pursuing what they loved; what they deserved.

She was disappointed, and hurt - but she should never have taken it out on them. If they would let her, she would be there to support them from now on, and to cheer them on no matter where they were.

“they’re… dandelions.”

“yea, and?”
thea’s arm is outstretched in a gesture of giving, her hand
full of a dozen dandelions. she gives them to her friend, one dearest to
her. it’s only a casual encounter, yet still a moment of heart.

her friend laughs. “aren’t you like, into flowers and all? like their
symbolism and stuff? does this mean anything?”

thea shakes her head. “not really. i thought about making you a nice
bouquet, but i know it’s not your thing, so i just picked these on the way
over.” she pauses, looking thoughtful. “tell you what. just between you
and me, dandelions represent every laugh and late night between us.
they represent our friendship and the love within it— platonic or
otherwise.” she isn’t one to blush, but there’s a faint red in her face.

they’re just friends, but lately she feels a different sort of way about
them.

the friend gives a stupid and genuine smile. “poetic. i like it.” they
hand one flower back, one that’s gone white. “make a wish with me?

“one.
“two.
“three!”

and she wishes for days like these to last forever.

“what’d you wish for?” they ask.
she lies. “a popsicle.”

Congratulations to final egg! I really didn’t think anyone would pick just one flower, but it tied in nicely with the bit of personality you wrote in your story. The art you made was also quite cute, take good care of Thea!

truly it's been so long that i've forgotten how to open thank you posts
hdfdgd but thank you sm kyo!!! a very welcome surprise i love she
the stripes & wavy hair and its color & the wing and eye markings &
subtle base gradient,, :pleading:

finding consistent or reliable sources for flower symbology rlly shot me
so i just scrapped it for story & was happy w it, so im glad my form was
alright!!!
