It all started when Copper was a lesson horse at a camp. He often became bored, if he wasn't trotting around with a kid, he was sitting at a fence post in the shade with some water for an hour at most. At the end of the camp, they had a small private horse show. When he was just sitting and waiting to show, lots of people passed him. Sometimes he would pull their hats off, and sometimes they didn't notice. His owners were cleaning his stall out one day when they found not one, not two, but three hats from people they didn't know hidden behind and underneath his shavings. To this day none of us are sure how Copper got his hands on these hats without a fight, but he sure did take them.

Cougar is a very mischievous horse and likes to play prank on his handler and anyone nearby. His hat theft started when a raccoon stole a hat and was given a treat in return for the hat. Cougar liking treats decided to try thieving hats in order to get treats. It started off as passerby's hats and then quickly escilated to everyone including rider's helmets that weren't strapped to the rider's head. Needless to say no one gets close to Cougar if they have hats anymore.

Prompt: It all started on one fateful day. His owner (who is also his trainer, of course) decided to teach mischievous Wreno a harmless trick. At least, she thought it would be harmless, funny even! Hats began disappearing left and right. Straw hats, sun hats, baseball caps, regular caps, beanies, even riding helmets! A mysterious hat crisis was deemed, and the search for all the missing hats began. The humans teamed up, searching far and wide for where the hats could possibly be hiding. The fields? Nope. Tack room? Nope. Arenas? Nope. Feed room? Nope. Misplaced? Nope. This was no ordinary loss, this was the loss of a whole bunch of hats in the span of only a few days...

Last places to check were the stalls and inside the bathroom. The bathroom was swiftly checked, and so the only places left were the stalls. Gathering up the children that had finished up summer camp and lessons for the day, along with staff, they began searching stalls. Wreno stood in his stall, idly flicking his tail, his eyes following the movement of humans as they swept by his stall, searching. It was amusing, really. He and a few other horses were hanging out in the stalls, and a few children, accompanied by staff, searched the stalls they stood in. When they slid his stall door to the side, Wreno knew he was done for. They searched through the aromatic pine chips, in his water bucket, in his food bucket, in the corners-

Ah, at last, the hats were located. Laughing, more people entered his stall, petting him and scolding him playfully. Wreno nickered, lowering his head to look at his hat hoard as staff uncovered it. A large pile of smothered hats.

The hat crisis came to an end, and the crowd dispersed, laughing among themselves, with their newfound hats in tow. Wreno gained the nickname 'Wreno the hat thief', and to this day still steals a hat every now and then. He's careful to be very subtle about it though, wouldn't want to be discovered again!
