Show Name: WPS Eid al-Fitr
Barn Name: Danny
Egyptian or Western tack?: Egyptian
Tack color: Eye color
Gender: Stallion
Prompt : Rama was named after Eid al-Fitr, the celebration at the end of Ramadan in many Muslim countries, Egypt included. He was born on the day of Eid al-Fitr of the year he was born. The problem is, Rama is very skittish and nervous, and does not like a lot of noise or chaos around him.
Eid al-Fitr is a festival to show gratitude to Allah for the help and strength he gave them throughout the month of Ramadan to help them practice self-control. Often, Willow Park have a large family feast and celebration at the end of Ramadan, and given the space available at the stables in the desert, it makes sense to hold it around the horses. Of course, they try to keep as much distance as possible, but there is only so much even the adults can do about excited, adventurous children. Given the unpredictability of children, the nervous stallion doesn't like them too much, and having them running around the stables is not optimal.
He enjoys the carrots and treats he is given in celebration, but will always have that uncertain look the whole three days that celebrations, prayers and song continue. 195 wordsExtra: YouTube video about the celebration. 10 Surprising Facts About Eid al Fitr
