"Jade," called my mother, "come watch your brothers training session." "I'm talking to Mystery" I explained, wanting to avoid watching my brothers lesson. Mystery and I have know each other since we where filly's, and I am grateful to have her friendship now. My younger brother, Phoenix, has been bugging me since he was a newborn, and Mystery is the only horse who will listen to my rants. She has younger siblings herself, and can see around Phoenix's charisma and charm. I must admit my brother isn't really all bad. He's the cool one in the family and will do anything to prove himself to our parents and his trainers. I was kind of excited to have a little brother but since he was born all attention has shifted from me to him. There was a time, when he was a yearling. We would run through the meadow together and I’d show him how to find the tastiest grass. I had enjoyed teaching him and thought maybe being a big sister wasn’t so bad, but that window has since closed. Phoenix has started training and my mother has spent all her time watching him from our pasture. Even my dad will stop to watch. Me and Mystery are training for our first show and it hurts to see only Mystery’s mother watching. Our sires and dams won’t be able to come to the show but I wish mine would at least watch my lessons.
