personality: Known to outsiders as the quiet, shy type, Ari has a second side to her. To her family and friends, she is known as always hyper and cracking jokes. She wishes that she had the ability to open up and be more of a social butterfly to those she doesn't know, although, if she's comfortable with the people she's around, she can bring life to any gathering. Ari's shy nature was a big reason to why she did not have many friends when she was a kit. During her alone time, she picked up on a lot of self-care like habits that helped her realize that the only company she really needed was herself. When alone, it is not a rare sight to witness her meditating in nature or doing yoga to stretch out her limbs. She also keeps a small garden at home and enjoys using the vegetables and fruits that she produces to make nice dishes.

basic story: As a kit, Ari did not have many friends. She spent most of her time with her single mother, who, although she struggled to take care of her, spent most of her free-time outside of work teaching her daughter useful life skills, such as cooking. This is where one of Ari's biggest passions came from. While her mom was at work, she would read a TON of books, her favorite being the Harry Potter series which seemed to take her to another state of mind. When she got bored of that, she would pace the house, staring at the paintings on the walls that she wishes she was talented enough to create. Her particular favorite was a photo of a ferris wheel on a board walk. It is a huge dream of hers to visit a board walk, and get a picture just like the one that resided in her late mother's house, but with her in it this time. She appreciates everything her mother has taught her and swears that no matter how many Kalons she meets, her mom will always be her best friend, even if she's not on earth anymore.

some may call it fate. but to the well-informed, it may just be the work of an immensely bored nature deity.

asasuki's duties are tedious, demanding, and pretty stupid, if you ask her. her free-spirited and childish soul was never up for the challenge of 'maintaining balance in the environment', or whatever her mother advised her to do. so, to soften the pain of experiencing absolute boredom every day and night, asasuki decided of a fun little way to incorporate some excitement into her work.

and that was: playing matchmaker.

while asasuki can't directly interact with earth's mortals (excluding her series of cryptic messages, which were her poorly executed attempts at communication), she can interact with and influence the surrounding environment, and can push together a pair with a few 'coincidental accidents'. it was a cute and innocent game she made up after deciding 'this job is boring, i hate it', and she's been doing it ever since.

asasuki was always a big sucker for romance, and watching the events of a blossoming love unfold right in front of her eyes is something she could do everyday. better yet, she would be the cause of it - how neat is that?

sometimes the pairs work out, and have a sweet and happy ending. however, sometimes, they just end in disaster and asasuki can't help but feel a bit dejected afterwards, but whatever - it's not her problem anymore! she just simply moves along, trying to find her next pair of mortals to bring together in between her job.

the only real problem with her little hobby is that she gets chastised quite regularly for it.

something about 'don't interfere with the relationships of the mortals!' or something along those lines - asasuki admittedly doesn't pay much attention to the scolding.

after all, it's going to take much more than that to stop asasuki from having a bit of fun.

real doofus moment:
Wisty tinkered with a small guitar pick, boredom visible on her face.
If there was one thing she hated most, it was waiting. Her boss was late, and she was sitting in the 95° shop, with all the doors besides the back and front door locked.
She turned around and pulled a guitar off the rack, playing it and then cringing when the string squealed.

She heard the doors chime and turned around to see a Kalon with jet black hair, and a wave-like pattern walking to the counter, the Kalon's black gloves gripping to the cold wood floor.
Wisty blinked a few times, leaning back on her chair as she nervously smiled. As she leaned back, she lost balance and the chair fell backwards, the guitar hitting her on the head as she met the ground.

"Do you need any help?" The Kalon at the counter asked curiously, leaning over to see Wisty on the floor.
Wisty went to speak, but jumbled her words. She tried to say "No, I'm fine," and "Wait one second, don't worry." at the same time, and ended up saying,
"No, don't touch me."
Wisty opened her eyes wide, about to say sorry, before the Kalon interuppted, speaking in a joking tone,
"Well, I can't go anywhere. I'm here to get a guitar, after all."
Wisty stood up and picked up her stool, locking eyes with the Kalon.

"What's your name?" The stranger said, looking down at the marble counter.
Wisty finished putting her things back and frowned at the guitar, which was now missing it's neck and a string.
"Aw man.. how am I going to tell boss I broke a guitar..?" Wisty mumbled, disappointed.
She looked back up at the Kalon on the other side of the counter before answering,
"Oh! My name is Wisty," She said, a grin forcing itself on her face.
I am making such a fool of myself, Wisty thought, trying to drown out the thoughts that reminded her of the broken instrument.

The stranger looked down at the guitar, then back up at the face of Wisty.
"I'll buy that one. I can fix it up," The Kalon said, a smile spreading broadly onto their face.
Wisty looked up, surprised.
"Are-Are you sure? I can just get you a new one?" She stuttered, her eyes flicking between the broken instrument and the Kalon across from her.

"Ain't nothing a bit of tape and string can't fix," The Kalon winked, another smile forming.
Wisty felt herself blush slightly before answering,
"O-Ok.. Just swipe here then," She said, blinking a few more times as the other Kalon swiped the card and took the guitar.

Wisty smiled weakly as the Kalon left, and noticed a piece of paper on the counter.

Maybe that wasn't as bad as I thought. She thought as her boss walked into the shop.

basic story:
Io was always a little quiet and closed off from others, and had trouble making friends when they were younger. For company, they escaped into imagined worlds and had many imaginary friends. Growing up, they constantly had people telling them they need to get out of their shell more, and that it was a shame because they're so bright but they don't talk to people enough. Io always excelled in school, but never felt like they learned much, and did most of their learning on their own time.
Io lived on the edge of a small town when they were very young, near a creek where they'd spend most of their days, but their parents moved to a city when they were about 8 or 9. Io missed the scenery and nature of their old home, and so, despite a little dissuasion from worried parents, they moved out as soon as they could once they got old enough, and went to live somewhere closer to nature again, in a different small town with a very small university where they study botany.
If they could, Io would love to move to a tiny cabin in the woods and completely surround themself with the natural world. As that's not a practical option, they settled for filling their small apartment with all kinds of plants, and seems to have a knack for keeping plants alive and healthy - having an impressive track record of 0 plants dying under their care.

Mechanics - Fixing up old cars/machines, taking things apart to see how they work, and building new things out of parts they have lying around. They love tinkering with complex machines with intricate mechanisms, spurned from a curiosity and fascination with clock and watches as a child. Although they were thoroughly told off when they first took apart a watch to see how it works (it wan't theirs, after all), all the perfectly fitting cogs and beautiful craftsmanship made them instantly fall in love with machines.
