The group eventually made their way back to the waterfall, intent on finding food and herbs. They didn't manage to find any live prey, but Swanstrike did stumble by some scraps at the river-bottom. The three quickly buried the food to fetch later. +1 scraps, +1fp, +1xp

Lilacmoon, with all her searching, managed to sniff out some thyme growing by the water. +1 thyme, +1xp
The Seer had been intent on finding more herbs before the sun went down, but as dusk approached the three decided they'd better head back to camp. Lilacmoon wasn't complaining though, she was simply pleased to have found any herbs at all. In newleaf they grew abundantly, especially by the river, but it was still a chore to sniff them out. The simple sight of one was a blessing.

Bluenose walked around thinking to himself. Sometimes his thoughts would lead him down odd roads but this time it led him to a pile of garbage...wonderful. Bluenose scrunched up his nose as the smell but decided to look through it anyway. Bluenose was semi glad he did, after-all he did find some scraps. waste not want not +1scraps, +1FP, +1XP
Bluenose was happy to walk away from the garbage and gave himself a much needed bath. He cringed at the taste when he got to his front paws. Still while he was taking his bath he did notice some herbs in the distance which he picked as soon as he finished cleaning behind his ears. +2burdock root, +2XP

Spottedshadow, who had wandered away from krestelstar and shellwing for a moment, stood still as a statue in the crouched position. She hadn't seen any prey just yet but she hoped one would show itself if she wanted long enough. Eventually her bones started to ache from the pressure and time that had elapsed. Spottedshadow returned to see that krestelstar was helping shellwing to carry a nice plump squirrel. +1squirrel, 3FP, +3XP
The excitment of catching the squirrel made the cat trio forget to look for herbs. Hopefully nothing bad would come of this.

Using the darkness as coverage from the prey's vision, shadestar was soon able to locate the presence of a vole. He watched as the vole scurried back and forth as if looking for something. When the vole turned its back again shadestar took the advantage and caught the little rodent. +1vole, +2FP, +2XP
satisfied that his kill could feed at least two mouths, shadestar moved on to look for herbs. A strange smell caught in his nostrils and he whipped around to find some plants! He didnt however know what they would be used for but he plucked up as many as possiblanyway. +1broom, +2celandine, +3XP

Shadestar catches a glimpse of a badger. Only two option come to mind: fight or flee. Does shadestar choose to pursue the threat?

bluenose blinked himself awake as he checked the sun. dawn. thank goodness. it was still somewhat tame heat wise outside, although it was already starting to heat up. he woke cowspot up to take her on her first tour of the territory. she grunted and sat up. "what... oh bluenose! i'm so sorry I-" bluenose cut her off. "it's fine. you're new. just don't keep it up." the pair were headed towards the tunnel when bluenose felt a wave of hunger wash over him. "why don't we grab something to eat first?" bluenose watched as cowspot ran towards the pile, coming back with a vole. "do you want to share?" she looked up nervously. "sure." the pair ate and passed though the tunnel for a tour of the territory and small hunting lesson.

Okay, so maybe, just maybe, Milo and Skye had no idea what they were doing. Hakan and Minda knew all about hunting and exploring and all that stuff. They had even come from a clan! a real life warrior clan! From what Milo understood Minda was born into said clan, and Hakan was a rogue that joined later. But they eventually just ran away together and found this place. But the point was, they knew a lot. And they could help Milo and Skye learn. And that's why they were lucky to find this pair, even if, well, even if this had been going on for a while:

"I do say it's this way, milady!" Hakan screeched, losing his patience. Minda threw her head back "You ignorant tom! We obviously follow the stream up!" "Well what you say does't really matter here, does it? You're no more of an explorer than my friend Milo here is a leader!" He exclaimed, patting Milo on the head. His ears flattened back. "Say that again, I dare you!" Skye hissed into Hakan's face. Hakan stuck his tongue out at her. "What are you going to do, you little kit?" That was it. "I'm the kit? I'm not the one who throws a fit when I don't get my way! But I will not stand for you talking about my friends that way!" "Skye, don't get dragged into this, please." Milo muttered. But she kept on screaming at him. Minda's bickering rose over both their voices and finally...

"Everyone shut up!" Milo snarled, whipping around. "Oh so, he has some fire in him after all." Hakan gave out a hearty chuckle. "I'll race you to that tree!" "Skye is right. What are you, a child? Listen here, I may be young, I may be stupid, I may not have all the experience you may have... but at least i'm not a babbling, blithering idiot, and I am learning. Excuse me, but if I recall right, this is my tribe. I love Dipper and Skye, and I am more than happy they have decided to build a life with me. We want to expand the love. We want to expand it to you. But if you can't stop all this right this instant, you can get out of my business! And now, we better pray to the ancestors we haven't scared off all the prey in the forest! And, by the way, you all have been talking about the same direction!" Everyone went quiet after that and they all walked off silently. Milo sighed in relief. Thank the stars. Please let this trip have been worth it. I can't wait to get back to Dipper. He's back at home watching the kits of course... There was little Hurrit, who was just as adventurous— and cocky, unfortunately— as his father Hakan. After finishing their shrew they set off into the woods to show cowspot the territory. Though they had gotten off on the wrong start they quickly managed to gain their ground again. To bluenose's amazement, cowspot even managed to catch a vole +1vole, +2FP, +2XP
Still maintaining his stature and presence bluenose's walked side by side with the black and white she-cat. He motioned for her quickly to stop as he noticed some herbs one the ground but it was too late. Cowspot trampled over some tansey. Quickly realizing what she had done she began appologizing incessantly. Bluenose, now even more annoyed, chose to ignore her words and pick what was left of the important plants +2sorrel, +2lamb's ear, +4XP
Bluenose looked up to find cowspots had stopped talking. She asked him what the scent in the air was as she was unfamiliar with it. Bluenose parted his jaws. Thats the smell of a rogue group he responded. Do your cats chose to pursue the threat?

The sun was absurdly bright and hot on this day. Perhaps that was why no prey could be found?
Still the cats trudged on...and on...and on. Their paws were getting tired from walking on the terrain so much so that shellwing asked to take a break. The others regretfully complied with an annoyed glance to eachother. It was just one thing after another with shellwing around. While the others were exchanging glances shellwing felt something poking her belly. When she looked she found a big stalk of herb. +1tansey, +1XP

Something strange and rare caught shadestar's eye. Closer he crept until before his paws lay an item. +1super nova (random mutation) the bounty in the forest is running plentifully this green-leaf!!

Whilst enjoying the lovely morning with her little adventure, shadestar noticed a sound. A small sound. Hee got into a hunters crouch and followed his ears trusting that they would steer him in the right direction. He stopped when he had finally got a look at the noisy thing. He watched...waiting....waiting...bam! He landed square on the back of a mouse +1mouse, +2FP, +2XP
After shadestar was finished hiding away the fresh kill he looked around happily. He took a deep breath which let in all the scent of the forest. Including something he recognized. He followed his nose until he found it. surely the medicine cat would have some good use of it right? +1wintergreen, +1XP

“Mama, where are we headed??” The little lilac cat that had once barely stumbled around with her siblings over Owlstar’s paws bounced around the Khan like she had too much energy. Considering how they’d barely been kept in camp, she was sure these young cats would explode if she hadn’t promised to bring them out today.
“Doepaw, hush,” The grey she-cat laughed, gently batting her in admonishment. “We’re going out to walk the territory, and you should all learn where everything is.”
“Sounds like today is going to be fun,” Sleekhaze chuckled, easily sidestepping Emberpaw ducking between them despite her milky blue eyes, ears almost constantly twitching. While the blind sentinel didn’t hunt often, she was willing to at least help Lilacmoon find herbs since her nose was more sensitive. They would leave the hunting to Swanstrike, Owlstar, and the young apprentices.
“Khan, we should consider avoiding the waterfall for now,” Sleekhaze suggested, worried the eager young cats would be too excited to be careful.
“You’re right.” She mewed, nodding, “Why don’t we head down to the river joining? There’s shallow water on one side so the little ones-“
“Hey!” Emberpaw interjected, a prideful little thing about finally becoming an apprentice. She was such a handful. Bless Swanstrike’s patient heart.
“-the apprentices,” Owlstar corrected, tail curling in amusement, “can learn how to swim and fish.”
“I could definitely use the burdock that grows there.” Lilacmoon added, and the group headed off.
When the apprentices got in the water with Swanstrike, the adults watched them carefully, knowing the currents a little deeper could be dangerous with smaller cats.
Silverpaw seemed to naturally pick up his mother's talent for fishing and swam with relative ease, though Emberpaw struggled a little, determinedly trying to imitate her brother, much to the Khan’s mixed pride and amusement.
Doepaw seemed more interested in the vole creeping nearby and managed to catch one, though it seemed to be playing dead. When she picked her paw up, it scrambled away and she scrambled to chase, but Owlstar stepped in between, paw landing on the vole’s tail and stopping it there. Doepaw pouted, but it was funny for all of them. Lilacmoon and Sleekhaze, on the other hand, spent their time wandering the area nearby, looking for any useful herbs nearby.
Once the apprentices were thoroughly exhausted with their lessons in swimming, hunting, and fishing, Swanstrike took them home, letting Lilacmoon, Owlstar, and Sleekhaze to head out and patrol the territory properly. They continued to scavenge, also keeping an eye out for predators and any stray cats that may have wandered into the territory.
