Well, she'd come out for a regular walk with her human, something she did almost every day during the warmer months as the clutches of winter ebbed away. What she hadn't realized was that there was an event, something so odd but trivial involving flowers. When she tried to investigate her human had never scooped her up so quickly in her life as humans and pets trampled about filling the area in classic crowding style, flowers, bouquets adorned on almost every surface on propped up tablets and sweet fooderies, booths adorned in petals floating in the wind and signs. Of course, Amber got nervous at the size of the crowd, anxiety growing as she clutched Desi closer, not wanting to lose her in the throng. Despite being a city girl most of her life, anxiety was something Amber was all too familiar in dealing with, though Desi noted, it wore her out more than any of her extracurriculars could even dream of.

Desi, trained in some aspects as a therapy cat, did her best to calm her owner, able to hear her heartbeat thumping powerfully even with all the commotion. She meowed loudly, nosing at her owner's face as the strawberry blonde tried to calm down, conflicting emotions and discomfort in her eyes. The panic, Desi knew, was just from being overwhelmed but here wasn't a good place to destress from that.

Desi knew she had to get her somewhere quiet, but she was a well-trained therapy cat by now. Squirming out of her panicking human's arms, much to Amber's horror, she ran away from her escaping her clutching hands as her bare paws hit the concrete. Single-minded in this state, her focus completely on the feline, she began to run after her, the two owner and cat dodging other humans and pets in this "game". The bicolored sphynx led her owner further and further to the less active festivities, always pausing to let her catch up though never too close least she gets scooped up again.

Under the shade of a blooming sakura tree, the feline finally stopped and her flustered, upset owner quickly grabbed her -carefully despite the swiftness- before she could get away and grumbled. "There's no way we're coming back out this week cat," she hissed breathlessly, cheeks flushed with exertion as she squeezed the sphynx close in her arms.

Desi rolled her eyes but kneaded gently at her coat as her human took a moment to look around. The panic from before mounted but then ebbed slowly away as she realized just how quiet this was and she sat down.

"Bad cat," she grumbled with no malice and Desi purred softly, knowing the sound would calm her down. Just a little bit, "almost thought I lost you!" She heard the muffled dismay in her voice as she pressed her face to her back, whimpering slightly.

If not for the fact that Desi knew she'd done a good thing, the feline might have felt guilty. As it was all she could do was turn around in her arms and look up at her reddening face. She purred louder, pushing her face against her owner's own garnering a laugh at the attempt to comfort. The two sat there for a long while, her owner calming down while the feline took a moment to observe the festival activities, both thankfully being ignored by pedestrians. She didn't know what this was for exactly, but all the flowers gave her ideas for new ways to find her "inner calm". Perhaps inner calm was like that of a petal, she mused. Once apart of a whole, but then set afloat on the realms of life. It was something for the feline to ponder later when Amber took them home.

The scent in the air was lovely and every petal as it floated on the wind was especially pretty against the blue of the day-time sky. Tall towers of buildings seemed huge in comparison, as the petals floated on invisible hands and onto their streets. The blooming trees set on a lovely, almost forlorn spell on the park around them. Desi listened to the stuttered calm of Amber's breathing and felt a kiss on her forehead from above, causing the feline to look up and meow inquiringly.

Amber's face was split by a weak smile as she coddled the sphynx cat and Desi knew she was forgiven for her 'misdemeanor' for now. Seemingly feeling brave enough now, the blonde slowly got up from the sakura tree's shade as the blossoms swayed softly. She adjusted her hold on the feline, careful not to let her slip as she cradled her in her arms and went up to one of the prettily decorated tables.

'Atta girl,' Desi thought as she picked up a plastic lei of orange flowers the table was giving away for free. 'That's it. Breathe.' And when the flowers were placed around her own neck, well Desi couldn't help the purr that settled around them.
