backstory: A dark force has arisenThe night was settling in, replacing the warm light of the sun. The shadows were spreading their cold claws across the surroundings, silently. Soon enough, the landscape became a remarkable portrayal of the silence.
The forest, with its tall and leafy trees was unusually quiet, as if it feels that a danger was approaching. No sign of life anywhere, the animals remained hidden, the birds were gone.
Suddenly, the earth starts shaking rhythmically, like an intermittent earthquake was happening. A huge silhouette showed up, leaving behind a trail of burning ash and wilted flowers. It was an enormous creature, ferocious by appearance.
Some areas of his body were replaced with metallic parts, shining sinisterly in the moonlight. He turned his face to the light, revealing a long scar across a blinded eye, while picking a flower. He looked at the delicate petals on his paw for some seconds before they turned into ashes. His hoarse laughter echoed in the darkness. "I am coming and when this will happen, you'd better prepare. The rightful king has returned! Mwhaha"

With a flap of the wings, a beautiful female keldine left her masterfully carved throne. She stretched her back and arranged some ruffled feathers, preparing to get some fresh air when the door opened suddenly and a servant barged in. He looked so shocked that he almost tripped in his way. Forgetting about the usual formula of addressing, he did a clumsy bow in front of her. Realising his inappropriate behaviour, he started babbling embarrassed "E... excuse me your highness for my audacity..."
The queen, caught unawares, understood immediately that something serios happened. She approached her servant, touching his shoulder with her tail, then took a seat to listen to him. "Please Konan, we talked about this so many times. Just call me by my name. Now, what's so important? Your expression scares me."
"Right, Evangeline. W... well, HE is back."
She flinched, as if she was burnt by an invisible fire. She sighed closing her eyes.

Evangeline was just a kid when her life changed completely. She was part of a tribe of very rare keldines, living in harmony with the nature so that their fur was permanently covered in vines and flowers. Her tribe was known for its kindness and hospitality; they were very nice and welcoming to everyone that wandered on there. They didn't have a ruler, every member contributed to the prosperity of the nation. But one of them turned out to be too ambitious. He liked war, destruction and chaos; his dream was to conquer the nations of keldines and to make them obey him. He started practicing dark magic and denied his origins, making from himself a deadly weapon, then demanded allegiance from his kind.
One day, after he gathered some adherents, he returned to that tribe.
"You are still hoping to be respected when you are all unable to defend yourself from any kind of danger... pathetic. The respect comes with power and I can offer you enough that you shouldn't be afraid anymore. Join me and together will make this world, our world."
Evangeline's father stood against:
" What you are requesting us, Zelophehad, is absurd. A free nation won't give up its freedom for lies of glory."
"Oh so you want war? You have no choice, that's what you maybe didn't understand; sooner or later, you all will kneel before me."
The whole tribe prepared for a fight.

"Go my daughter and don't look behind. There's nothing left here for you" whispered Evangeline's dad.
"I... I can't leave you here."
"We will make it, you will see, just go... please, it's better like that."
The little keldine run to hide in the woods. She climbed a tree so she could see what was happening. Unfortunately, her nation lost the battle and ended up tied almost immediately. She could hear someone laughing:
"Well, any changes?"
The prisoners started hissing offensively.
"Better dead than on your side!"
"Burn the village" ordered Zelophehad.
Evangeline heard his lugubrious laughter, which remained trapped in her mind years after that, then she saw nothing but fire in front of her eyes. "No... NO NO NO!" Unable to look back, she ran deeper in the forest, where no one could see her defeated. She wanted to scream, to cry desperately, her family and all the ones she loved turned into dust. Her home and everything that ever mattered to her was gone. She couldn't do anything to save them. That was the thought she couldn't endure. She fell, tired and heartbroken, then everything blacked out.
When she opened her eyes, Evangeline didn't recognise the place she was in. An old female female keldine was preparing a mixture of plants.
"Are you hurt?" she asked after noticing the little one waking up.
She shook her head.
After a moment of hesitation the old lady approached with the mixture.
"I saw what happened. I am deeply sorry. Drink this, it will make you feel a bit stronger."
It tasted sweet and soon, Evangeline felt recovered.
"It's so unfair" she said. "Zelophehad is getting stronger as we speak and there is nothing we can do to stop him. But one day, I will revenge my tribe and I will make him pay for the damage he caused, I swear."
"Maybe it's something you can do." said the lady mysteriously. I have been looking for someone with a pristine heart for thirty years. I have a very powerful artifact which cannot fall into wrong hands."
A few seconds later, she was back holding a cloth with something inside. "This is the Archangel's sword. It is said that it chooses its next owner, and that it has incommensurable powers. This is what Zelophehad searched his whole life, without knowing he had it under his nose.
Evangeline took the sword. It was made of platinum, encrusted with blue precious stones, having two little wings. She has never seen such a majestically made weapon before. It started glowing, a pure and divine light came out of it. She felt an unimaginable power running through her veins. A pair of white wings grew from her back, her hair became twice longer and a pale blue halo was crowning her head.
The old keldine murmured with approbation. "You are the chosen one, indeed. May this sword guide you to the path of justice. Are you ready to accept your glorious destiny and to fulfill your duties?"
"I can't accept it. It has such a power and I am unworthy of handling it."
"You are more than worthy, the sword felt a spark in you. I have never seen it shining so brightly before. It is time to right a wrong and you are the only one who could do so."
The little keldine shaded some tears of happiness. The sun rose again for her. Now she could get revenge and free some innocent nations in the same time.
"But until then I am wondering if..."
Evangeline flapped her wings just to stumble on them and fall. "... do you have any idea how can I use them?
The lady blinked amused "I'm afraid you will have to learn that by yourself, an Archangel keldine is a quite rare encounter."
That's how her journey began. She had to find someone skilled enough to prepare her for the decisive battle. She learned that no matter how many times you are falling, if in the end you can finally fly.

Meanwhile, Zelophehad was seeing his objective achieving step by step. But his promises remained in vain. Soon, even the last keldine who believed in his plan started questioning its authenticity. They didn't dare to say their complaints laudly, for fear they could be punished or worse. When one of his scouts that spotted the unusual sword in the possession of an unreal keldine reported this to Zelophehad, somewhere deep, he started doubting that the scout lied, so he sent a team of his best warriors to investigate.

Evangeline couldn't sleep. She had nightmares about that night, hearing the screams, the sound of the fire and that laughter over and over again. She woke up cold and shivering; it must have been midnight. Then, she heard some noises coming from a bush nearby. Alerted, she stretched her wings and rose to the sky just in time to avoid a crowd of furious keldines with various weapons directed to her.
Taking her sword to make some light, Evangeline blinded her enemies for a moment, exactly what she needed to gather all those weapons from them. Confused, the attackers were backing off, when the voice of the archangel sounded clearly.
"Wait! I have something to talk to you, truce?"
The keldines turned surprised and curious of the message she had for them. They were aware of her power now and felt that she could be the only one able to save them from the Zelophehad's tyranny.
"Do you really believe his promises? After everything he has done and all the lies he told?"
The keldines looked one to the other shrugging and shaking their heads. One of them stepped in front.
"We don't, but what else we can do? You saw what happened to the ones that were against."
"Together we are stronger. I have a plan..."
After Evangeline described in detail her ideas, the crowd approved in silence. Then, she moved to the one who spoke earlier. "You are Konan, aren't you?"
He nodded."I heard you are very talented at using the spade, I could use some of your skills in the final battle, but nobody have to suspect anything."
"I will teach you everything I know, maybe we have a chance of succeeding after all."
So he started sneaking out to help Evangeline to become more and more powerful and skilled, until she overtook her own teacher. Then, she decided that the day of the final confrontation has finally came, so she asked his loyal friend for help.
"Konan, it's time for our plan."
The arrogant and selfish tyrant heard his servants whispering about it and didn't even noticed the trap. "Konan! Come to me now!" The skilled warrior was his favourite and the one he trusted the most. "What's with this thing that everyone is talking about?" "Oh, my master, Evangeline has challenged you to a fight. Whoever wins takes the Divine sword."
"... and he agreed without thinking too much. We are ready." finished Konan his message for the beautiful archangel.
"That's great, now get some rest. Tomorrow is a the decisive day."

An army of thousands of keldines was approaching with Zelophehad in the lead. On the other side was sitting gracefully Evangeline. At the sight of her, he stopped suddenly. "I thought I killed all of them, I guess I was terribly wrong." he said to himself.
"Do you think you can defeat me alone? Then you are very arrogant or a fool. Attack her!" commanded him.
"I'm not the fool in here" shrugged her.
The huge army turned against him, fighting on Evangeline's side. With all the dark magic he knew, he was unable to stop them. Soon, the archangel was holding the blade over his head. "C'mon, do it, I know you want revenge". Until then, she waited for that moment to come; but now, she just couldn't kill him, even after all he did. She rose the blade and crested a long scar across his eye. "You're exiled, forever. Now go, far away from here."
All the nations were now free thanks to her courage and devotion.
After that, she went to the old keldine, returning the sword. "I banished Zelophehad, thanks for the help." She shaked her head. "No, it's completely yours now. You did the right thing. That's why you deserve to have this too."- a scales shaped amulet. You have became a justice protector and a symbol of honour"
