"So there are stories that Talking Falls is haunted. I've personally never seen anything strange happen, but we do have a resident that might be... Well... Cursed.

Suze runs an arcade in taking falls and I swear the very ground is out to get her. Things fall when she's around - and not a normal fall. Like a whole bucket in the center of a table will roll off and soak the poor heifer. Calla saw it happen, she swears.

Now, I'm not sure id I believe it. Calla's no liar but it's a bit far fetched. I am open minded. Maybe one day Calla and I will find proof in our cave explorations! I could run an article in the paper!

Until then I'll be the open-minded sceptic. So do I believe in ghosts? Maybe. I'll believe it when I see it and not a moment before. Who knows, maybe the ghost kf that that old pirate captain will wander down main street and prove Suze right."

Answer to Prompt:
On the last day of the farmer's market, Heather made sure to visit the Peaches and Cream Cafe again.

“Okay, last question: Do you believe in ghosts?" Ghosts? It seemed like a random topic to Heather. She had never given it a lot of thought, but she tended to be neutral in believing if they were real or not, giving the benefit of the doubt to storytellers, but never fully being sure in their existence.

"Well, I don't really have a definite opinion. I don't know if they exist or not, and it's not really up for me to decide. I've never really had my own run-in with a potential paranormal experience beyond the odd creaking barn door, but who am I to say they aren't real?" she grinned.

"I do sometimes get paranoid when it's late at night, but who doesn't right? But I've never found strong enough evidence in either direction to make a solidified opinion. There are some funky unexplained things out there, but on the other hand, sometimes it's hard to imagine something like a ghost can really exist."

"So I guess, maybe? Maybe they're real maybe they aren't. Who knows? Certainly not me!" She chuckled.

"Do I believe in ghosts? Hmm... That's an interesting question, considering how I don't really think about that much. I've just never had a reason to. If I had to pick a solid answer, I'd probably say no, but it's not totally black and white.

"I don't really believe in ghosts because I think when you die it's over. Done. You lived your life and now you're gone. Your body fades away and all that's left is others' memories of you. That's it.

"But the truth is nobody really knows, do they? Maybe we do come back after we're gone. Who am I to say what happens after we die? I don't know; I haven't died yet. Nobody who died ever told me what it was like.

"Maybe the things that happen around me are ghosts. Maybe the ghosts are the wind in the trees, the creak of a door, the rustling of some grass. I just really don't know. I guess that means we'll just have to find out when we die one day, but hopefully that won't be for a little while. While we don't necessarily know what happens next, we can focus on living life right now." (200)

Answer to Prompt:

Beth furrowed her brow. "Ghosts? Why, I don't believe in ghosts," she responded. "They just plain are not real."

Realizing Azai was waiting for a reason why, she continued. "I have never seen one in my life, and I know nobody else who has. Even if I did, I would think of them as a liar. Buttermilks definitely do not turn into anything like a ghost. I have seen no proof to support this theory.

"The thing that I do believe in is reincarnation. After you die, I believe you are born again into something else. I think this because why else are there so many living things? How else unless you had a previous life before you? My theory isn't really set in stone, but I believe it is a better explanation than ghosts.

"But you know? Nobody really knows. So if someone thinks ghosts are real or whatever else, I won't be one to argue. Death is really just a big mystery."

howdy does not want to talk about it. no matter how big or tough this man might seem, howdy has a very big belief in the paranormal... and consequently is terrified of it. how is he supposed to fight an enemy that is not really there? it leaves a lot of implications that he does not want to even consider.
at least he has chief by his side to make things a little brighter now, though.

Answer to Prompt:
"Ghosts?" A small crease appeared between Chantin's brows as she considered this. "No, I wouldn't say I believe in ghosts- at least, not in the typical depiction of them. I do believe in a spiritual side to things, but would like to believe that spirits tend to move on rather than lingering here on earth, you know?"

"Though I'm not a big believer in the paranormal- or... however you call it; I don't know what the term to use would be- I do know that there are some... seemingly inexplicable things out there. Who can say for sure- perhaps there are a few wandering spirits out there. I myself have never had any reason to think so- no encounters of my own to speak of for certain, but though I'm liable to take ghost stories with a grain of salt (fear or desire for a shock factor can, I think, lead to embellishments on those sorts of tales), I couldn't say with certainty that there are no ghosts out there, right? I just hope that if there are, they don't cross my path anytime soon," Chantin finishes, chuckling slightly into her half-empty teacup.

"It's been lovely chatting with you these past few days, Azai- thank you for being such a gracious host," she adds on, giving her new acquaintance a small grin.

Buttermilk's Name/ Link: Castor Holmes (Cas)
Answer to Prompt: (591 words)woops

Cas sighed as she approached the café for the seventh time that week, resolving to take a break after this visit as there was no logical reason for her to continually get out at this time everyday to talk to Azai - as much as she enjoyed the experience, it was illogical and she needed to start looking for jobs soon to pay rent. It was going to be sad to say goodbye to the shop keeper as well as his delicious drinks and pastries but it had to be done, plus she'd brought along a parting gift.

Cas reshouldered her bag and tucked the gift under her arm - a gently used book that she'd had for a while and had read to death - before pulling open the café doors and heading to her 'usual' booth, pleased to see Azai already there with her now favourite drink. "Hello, Azai!" she smiled, sliding into the seat across from him and setting the wrapped present down. "I brought this for you!"

She waited with baited breath when the man picked up the book, chewing on her bottom lip as she waited for him to rip it open - only to be slightly disappointed when the gift was put down on the seat beside the male with the promise of opening it after close. She supposed that did make quite a lot of sense as she'd hate for the book to be ruined by coffee stains or the sugar and stickiness of the many sweet treats served here. "Fair enough," she replied with a slight shrug and smile combination. "Got a question for me today?"

"Ghosts?" Cas asked, eyebrows lifting in surprise after Azai finished speaking before she drummed her fingers on the table absently. "Oh, I absolutely believe in ghosts - it would be rude not to!"

She waved a hand in the air vaguely with a soft huff leaving her lips before continuing: "I mean not in the traditional sense of 'deceased people walking - or should I say floating - around with bedsheets over their heads', but I do think that people leave behind some form of energy signature when they pass that animal and certain people can see or sense. It's a bit of a mixed answer, I know but basically: No, I don't believe your grandma is dirtying your laundry up by floating around with bedclothes but I do believe that the people who have passed on are still watching over us in some way."

Cas was silent for a moment before gasped and patting the table excitedly. "I have a prime and personal example of what I mean. So, a few months after my nana passed away - it was a few years ago so I'm coping better now - we were in her car, preparing to go to the beach and just kinda chill for little while. Everyone was buckled up, including me in the backseat and right when my mom turned the car on, my seatbelt randomly tightened and locked - like it does when you pull the seat belt out completely and then let it go - and kept me from moving. I'd squeaked or made some other kind of noise, which startled the adults in the front seat and made them look back at me instead of pressing the gas which was perfect timing because at that moment, another car came speeding down the road - certainly over the speed limit - and would've crashed into us of we'd moved any earlier."

*fun fact: the story Cas tells is true, happened to me

Buttermilk's Name/ Link: Darian
Answer to Prompt:

Of course Darian believed in ghosts. How could she not? The evidence stacking up in agreement with their existence extremely outweighed the opposing viewpoint. Though, ghosts and other supernatural creatures did not scare her in the slightest. In fact, she was entirely fascinated with them.

There was a time in her life where all she wanted was to ghost hunt and search the world's most haunted places for her own entertainment. She was trained in paranormal detecting skills, much to her mother's displeasure. She studied so much that she almost immediately was offered jobs to travel and use her skills to seek out the dead, but she couldn't leave her duties behind as a princess. So...she only did them on family vacations.

When they went to new and exciting places, Darian had a while suitcase dedicated to her hunting gear. She would drag it around like it was the proudest accomplishment of her life, and to her, it was! However, one run in, while the family was staying in India, was something that she would never be able to forget.

In the middle of the night, she all but drug Kiri out of bed and made them set off on Kiri's motorcycle. She was shouting directions at the girl until they arrived outside of a broken and molded looking house in the middle of nowhere. "Princess, you've got to be kidding me, you woke me up for this?" Kiri wasn't mad but more poking and prodding at her best friend. "What is this place anyway?"

Darian was almost shaking with excitement as she adjusted the straps of the suitcase on her back. "This is the Morgan House. It's said to be the most haunted place in India and one of the most haunted places in the world. We're sneaking in there and investigating.", she said point blankly. "Princess, I'm impressed with your willingness to break the rules on this one. I'll gladly help you with this one."

After going inside, there was an immediate energy shift that gave Darian the chills, however, she was still smiling brightly in her eagerness. She set her bag down and pulled out a multitude of instruments to help them look for any presence in the house. They swept the house and were turning up completely empty. Darian was more than a little disappointed.

"Maybe we should pack up and go home...", she sulked. As the pair trudged down the main staircase, multiple slams were heard from upstairs. There was no wind that night. The girls both looked up to see all the doors in the hallway slamming shut, opening again, and slamming once again. "Darian come on...I don't like this..." Kiri's voice was on edge but Darian practically lept over her to run in the direction of the activity. Once she got up there her instruments started going off, even when she had shut them off and she turned in a couple of directions, trying to figure out the source of the energy.

However once the beeping reached its max...everything stopped. Darian was confusedly checking all of her tools when she saw something sweep past her vision. She looked up and there, standing before her was the ghost of Ms. Morgan. She was...sad looking and Darian reached her hand out but suddenly the expression turned to anger. The ghost tried to leap forward and onto Darian, but Kiri was quick to jump in front of her, shining a flashlight at the figure. "Go, Darian! Get out of here!"

Darian lept down the flight of stairs, only looking back to make sure Kiri was right behind her and the pair booked it out of the house. They quickly got onto the motorcycle and took off. It was only after they were back in the vacation home, safe and sound that Darian realized she had left her case of gear in the living room of the house. She pleaded Kiri to take her back but after many debates, they had decided that Darian should take a break from ghost hunting.

It clicked as it hit her teeth and she quickly stuffed it into the side of her cheek as the man asked her about ghosts. "Oh my, yes I do believe in ghosts! I've never had an experience with them personally, but my mama used to tell me stories, and my friend Ulysses says he saw one when he was a kid! Said that ghost nearly scared him to death!" She pushed the mint to her other cheek and played with her nails a bit before looking up to meet Azai's gaze again, "My, sir, you know all this time I figured you were somewhat of a..a spirit yourself." Red blushed a bit and looked back down to her nails. "Only an absolute angel would be so kind to me as you were, I do hope you'll be bringing your cafe around full time. The farmer's market is nearly at its end and I would hate to never see you again!" (192)

"My my, what a turnout we've had today, thank you all for stopping by! I cannot believe the Market is over already, it was so nice getting to know a little about all of you. I hope you all will consider a vacation to Firefly Valley sometime- I would love to see you guys again!"

Azai waves goodbye to you as you lift yourself off the seat and make your way back through the Farmer's Market. You smile, thinking about the conversations you've had with the charming young bull, his response to your answer ringing in your mind.

ceance:
"Aww don't worry dude, I will protect you! I ain't afraid of no ghost! I can totally understand the fear though, I wouldn't want someone watching me all the time either!"

zaz:
"WoAH, that's crazy cool! You had a one-on-one interaction with a real ghost! How lucky oh my gosh, I am sure it scared the pants of of you!!!"

Areater:
"I see! It's always interesting to see who believes in them and who doesn't especially when it comes to culture. I myself have had a few run-ins with things out of the ordinary that would seem like a ghost or spirit had visited!"

BiscuitTheDog:
"That's a wild story, woah! I am sure it was your father just trying to tell you that he was okay! I honestly wish my mother would send me a sign, you know? I wish that but... at the same time I just hope she made it to the beyond quickly, and didn't get left behind or stuck here. I like to think that she made it, you know? She never sends me signs so I take it as that she made it just fine."

BadgerBuddies:
"Where I am from, ghosts are bad and spirits are good. I think that both exist, just because I have experienced some crazy things in my life! We are certain that there's a spirit that lives in the attic of my friend's apartment. Sometimes we find dishes out on the counter or put away when we were certain we left em out. We let the spirit do their own thing most of the time- if it really wanted to hurt us it would have, we think. "

DarkestWerewolf:
"Dang I have never heard of those superstitions, they definitely sound like a ploy to keep their kids indoors! I hope you never encounter a ghost then if you fear them so much, and if you do encounter one, I hope it's a nice spirit! "

Ravendarus:
"She was GLIDING?? YOOOO, no way!!! Oh my gosh you HAVE to keep me posted if you ever see her again, oh my gosh! That's so creepy but so cool! Maybe you guys should try getting a ghost hunting party made and you can go out and look for her!"

acadicus:
"No one really knows what happens after you pass, which makes it such a curious thing to think about, for sure! I think there's spirits everywhere myself- you are never without them! "

Winter Shores:
"You are so right, there just HAS to be something after life, you know what I am saying? Whatever that is, it's really hard to decide! But yeah, it would be really fun to interact with a ghost or a spirit, maybe something liek Casper the ghost y'know?"

Knickknacks:
"I definitely believe in both the spiritual and the paranormal, mainly for the fact that i have seen and experienced some wild things in my time! Hopefully if there are such things as ghost they will stay away from you so you can feel more comfortable!"

bluex:
"I really want to encounter another ghost or a spirit myself, so hopefully they will stay away from you and come talk to me haha! I think there can be both good and bad encounters with them, I have had a few crazy run-ins myself. There was one time I actually was driving to a friends house when I saw this calf in the middle of the road. It was like one minute it wasn't there and then boom, there it was, and I slammed on the brakes. But as soon as I blinked it was gone. Crazy stuff."

ptarmigan:
"Yeah, in different parts of the world we call ghost different things. I for one believe in both ghosts and sprits, mainly for the fact I feel like i have been visited by a few malevolent beings from the other world. It's really interesting to talk about because people have so many viewpoints on it! "

Bluebird-:
"Ghost have to be real, or spirits at least! With all the things I have seen there as to be! I hope Ulysses was okay after that crazy experience! M-me, angel..? My, you're much too kind, I am merely just a barista, nothing more!"

Desmond:
"I hate when the room gets super cold and dry oh my gosh! That feeling that something is there and watching you is so foreboding. I would love to go ghost hunting one day, just with a bunch of friends, just to see what we could end up experiencing."

Cactologist:
"That's a pretty valid outlook! There has to be somewhere our energy goes because of the Law of Conservation. Whether that be to the soil and decomposers or somewhere else, our energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It's definitely something to think about you know- the fact that even if we die, a part of us remains alive in the form of energy given to something else."

mtuan,:
"Everyone has their own opinions of their existence, so I totally respect yours! The unknown is a scary thing, but to me it's exciting!"

paopu:
"I have this foreboding feeling that if you passed on, your energy would haunt me for the rest of my days heheh... Honestly i can't blame you, I would want to go wild if I became a spirit you know? Play some pranks, watch the town go nuts over floating signs and stuff. It would definitely be a heck of a time! "

Pufferheart:
"Death truly is one of the biggest mysteries, and I don't think it will ever be solved! If reincarnation is real though, I would like to come back as a tree. Tall and strong, and no one expects you to do chores!"

honeybunchesofoats:
"Yo, we should totally go ghost hunting together, wouldn't that be fun?? Of course whenever you are ready, I cannot IMAGINE how terrified the both of you were getting so close to a ghost- an aggressive one at that! I am so glad you two got out of there safely!"

Morghettio:
"I apologize for bringing up some bad memories, Howdy, I won't speak of it any more than what we have! I am o glad you got your dog, Howdy, you have to send me some photos sometime, promise? Here's my number. If you need anything at all just give me a holler okay? "

Yodel:
"True, True! You can't knock it until you see it for yourself you know? There's no surefire confirmation or denial of their existence, so why deny it outright when there's nothing to prove it's nonexistence? We may never know, but that's why we have to keep out eyes peeled and our minds open! "

Northstar.:
"I think your friend has a ghost attached to them oh my! Either that or it's a spirit who doesn't like her or just likes messing with her! OOO, maybe that pirate captain used to live on the ground where the arcade is now, what a thought!"

.entity.:
"Woah, you didn't have to go out and give me a gift! I am just a barista, I don't deserve such kindness! I will be sure to open it after I close- I don't want it getting dirty! But yeah, I totally agree with you- I really do think that in some way those we have lost are still looking out for us you know? Maybe not with bedsheets over their heads, I agree! And woah, that's a wild story- your nana had to have been there to make sure you were all okay. I wish my mom would send me a sign like that."

♔Voltaire♔:
Dont really gotta write a response for myself but imma list me so I don't forget. Yeehaw.
