DAILY PROMPT: Antheia went to go check on her plant, she saw that it started to look like it might be a distinct type of plant. Antheia was unsure of how exactly to care for it, though... Sorrel wouldn't tell her what type of plant it was - she insisted it was a secret, but she would help Antheia learn how to care for her growing plant. After all, Sorrel did want her plant to grow up big and strong. She picked up the terracotta pot, it was heavier this time, and brought it inside of the greenhouse placing it on a table. She then went through her bag, she had the right exact book to figure out the plant that it was! She already recognized the sprout as a tulip, although she could have been wrong. "Sorrel, I know you won't tell me what type of plant it is but could you please please give me directions on how to take care of it?"

Sorrel nodded, "Of course. Like every other plant just keep it watered but do not over water it or it shall die. Do not forget to allow it to have sunlight. That is one of the ways it shall grow. It's that simple, water and sunlight!" Antheia nodded and ran off to go find water.

EXTRA PROMPT:
Sorrel continued to keep the plants identity a secret from Antheia. I twas quiet frustrating and slightly angering not knowing something that she really, really wanted to know. Of course, it would also be exhilarating and thrilling to find out what the plant finally was. Antheia usually did not like being kept in the dark, she hated secrets. If there were small ones like this it did not bother her as much. She felt like keeping secrets led to lies and she did not want to be lied too. But it was just a plant so after all what could the harm be? She was concerned she would mess up and the plant would some how die because if these small secret! She felt like she was going insane and didn't know what to do. But this was suppose to be a surprise so Antheia would be patient with the mystery plant

Buttermilk: Gemma
Prompt:

Gemma is extremely ecstatic, bouncing along to see her beloved little clay potted sproutling! She feels like a proud parent, with her seeds growing into leafy green sprouts beneath her gentle care. Maybe she should have a photoshoot to mark the daily growth! It could be themed! She's all tok hapoy with her idea as she glances at her little plant.

"Oh!" she gasps. "Look at you!" The leaves are a vibrant green with rounded edges. There's nothing she can single out to recognize what type of plant hers will grow into. Perhaps Sorrel will know! Gemma picks up her clay pots and cradles it close, and goes off to find the plant master.

The greenhouse is lovely, with it's bounty of verdant, healthy plants, the scents of earth and life. Gemma enters carefully and peeks inside.

"Sorrel?" she calls, searching for the elusive bovine amongst the rows of plants. Gemma finds her in the back and sidles near. "Hey Sorrel, could you help me out? I don't know much about plants and would love any advice you could give me!" Gemma says. "And if you could tell me what my little sprout is growing into, I'd be over the moon."

    Buttermilk: Holly
Prompt: it really bothered holly that she didn't know what kind of plant she was caring for. she knew a lot about the local fauna, but she didn't recognize this one, so she didn't know how to best care for it. she'd be heartbroken if it died now, after she'd worked so hard to get it to sprout and start growing! she didn't want to ask for help - that made her feel weak, because she didn't like admitting defeat. maybe asking for help didn't mean that she was a failure, but it sure felt like it. however, she was willing to set aside her pride if it meant helping the plant survive. "hey, sorrel," she started, once she tracked down the other buttermilk. "i know you said you wanted to keep it a surprise...but i don't know how to take care of it if i don't know what it is." she hesitated for a second before saying the next thing. "can you...help me out a little?" [165 words]

Buttermilk: Bedelia
Prompt: Today, when Bedelia enters the greenhouse she sees that her plant had grown even more, but somehow looks a little... sad. Its leaves droop the slightest bit, and it leans to the side, as if it's frowning despite the smiley face Bedelia had painted on the pot. Bedelia instantly begins to fret. The last thing she would want is for her plant to die! She would feel so guilty! Besides, that would be letting down Sorrel, and Bedelia could never!
"Oh, I'm so sorry, little plant," Bedelia mumbles as she tries to physically lift the little leaves. What could she possibly be doing wrong? Plants in nature grow without any help whatsoever! Finally, Bedelia swallows her pride, choosing to acknowledge that she can't be the best at everything, and this is just one of those things. Looking around, she spots Sorrel at the back of the greenhouse and carries her plant over to her.
"Hey, Sorrel," Bedelia mumbles, still tempted to hide her plant failure.
"Hey, Bedelia. What's up?" Sorrel replies, either not sensing or ignoring Bedelia's hesistancy.
"It's my plant..." Reluctantly she lifts it so Sorrel could see, tensing in wait of her mocking. When the mocking doesn't come, she continues. "I've been watering it, talking to it, and giving it lots of hugs, but it's just not happy. I know you won't tell me what it is, which won't help me anyway, but can you at least tell me how to take care of it?" Her voice fades, and she cringes a little.
"Of course, I'd love to help!" Sorrel says with a smile, "That's what I'm here for! You should have asked sooner!" At these words, Bedelia relaxes and allows a smile as well, and Sorrel begins to explain exactly what to do. This wasn't so bad at all, and she was actually glad she asked, for the good of her plant and her own good. (319 words)
Extra Prompt: A few days earlier, Bedelia had been excited to see her sprouts poking out of the dirt and had eagerly asked Sorrel what it was going to become. Sorrel, though, much to Bedelia's frustration, refused to give her a single hint. This made Bedelia mad because it was her plant, wasn't it? Shouldn't she have a right to know what she was raising? Of course, Bedelia also blamed herself. If she payed more attention to the plants that grew in the area rather than just the animals, she might already know what is was by her own accord. You see, Bedelia is not someone who likes surprises. She likes to prepare for situations, and enjoys the predictable. She is a fan of science, and thinks should be laid out from the beginning. Also, she doesn't like feeling left out, like she's missing something. She always wants to know what's what and what's not, and surprises like Sorrel's don't allow for this. (161 words)

Buttermilk: Triton
Prompt:

Triton excitedly made his way into the greenhouse, lifting Arabella into his arms immediately after arriving. He peered into the pot, his eyes shimmering as he could see the sprouts starting to grow into-

He...couldn't tell. Why couldn't he tell? Triton looked around the greenhouse and back into the pot, furrowing his brows. Was he losing his magic plant touch? He wasn't old enough to have memory issues this bad... His eyes finally landed on Sorrel. He huffed silently, in relief that fellow plant expert would be able to help him. He hurried over to them, Arabella cuddled close to his chest.

"Hey, Sorrel...I need some advice. I can't seem to remember the type of plant this resembles and I need to be able to take care of it to the best of my ability! I would be devastated if I accidentally killed her."
(144)

Extra:

Triton liked surprises enough. They kept him on his toes during his otherwise pretty average lifestyle. However, as Sorrel chuckled at him, keeping the identity of his little girl Arabella a secret, he could feel himself growing a little frustrated. He broke down, unlike his normal facade, and began to beg them annoyingly, following them around the greenhouse and prodding them for answers. (63)

Buttermilk: Koromo
Prompt:

Koro blinked surprised to see how her sweet plant was starting to grow, she wasn't very sure how much it would grow but she was feverishly excitedly. She showed it Sorrel asking what it was but was so surprised to find that she was keeping it secret, she blinked a bit thoughtfully, "But if I don't know what it is how will I know how to tend to it? Give it what it needs?!" She asked, "What if I don't give it enough sun, or perhaps too much sun?" She asked. "What if I over water it and drown the poor thing?!" She gasped worriedly before she shook her head, "I guess I can't really give it to much music so no worries there." She said gently before she looked at her curiously. "I don't suppose you could help me out? You don't have to tell me what it is but could you just give me some advice so I can be sure I am doing it good? That way the surprise is kept but I don't kill it before I find out what it is..." She said gently.

(189)

Extra:

Koro mused as she walked back and placed the pot delicately into the sunlight and watered it gently, she had gotten the advice she was looking for but now she was looking forwards to what the plant could be, so she was so curious now. She wanted to know more about what it could! She was a little sad that Sorrel wouldn't tell her what it was after all she did want to know so desperately but she also knew she wanted to be surprised, she did so love surprises and she knew it would be better if she didn't know at all. She sighed softly, "Oh I do so love surprises but it is so hard to wait! Oh it must be a fabulous surprise if Sorrel isn't telling me after all. I am so excited." She said gently. She smiled, "So grow up big and strong so I can meet you soon enough okay?" She asked gently as she tenderly gazed upon the soft leaves.

Buttermilk: Beth
Prompt:

Beth's plant was growing up bigger and bigger each day. It made Beth so proud that she could create a life that it brought tears to her eyes. "My little Plantie, already growing up into a big grownup plant," Beth said to her plant. It already had two medium sized leaves growing near the top and two smaller seeds growing near the bottom. Plantie was the cutest plant out of them all, according to Beth.

She still didn't know what kind of plant her plant was going to grow into. Beth considered looking for this type of plant up at the library, but that seemed to hard. The best course of action would be to ask Sorrel what kind it was, in order for Plantie to get the best kind of treatment. Before doing this, Beth gave it a nice big drink of water. Over the days, it seemed like Plantie was starting to like strawberry jam less and less, for there once was some crusty old parts of it still located on the dirt, so know Beth just fed it water like a regular old plant.

Extra

Beth thought about how Sorrel had been keeping the identity of her plant a secret. It mad her pretty mad. What if Beth had accidentally gave it something fatal? What if the plant had died because of Beth not knowing what it was. True, Beth would find out what it was pretty soon, but Beth wasn't a very patient Buttermilk. At least I believe that Sorrel would hopefully tell me if I was doing something wrong, Beth thought. Or would she?

Buttermilk: meadowlark
Prompt: 167 words
Meadowlark had been spending just about every day visiting the greenhouse now, absentmindedly browsing the grown plants, occasionally plucking dead leaves, and of course, keeping a persistent eye on her little plant. Overnight, the darn thing had started to flower- little tiny buds peeked off of the stem, ivory and soft. "Sorrel, I know you said it's a surprise, but I'm dying to know what this little guy is going to be! Could you just give me a hint, pretty please?" She batted her eyelashes to no avail, as Sorrel just laughed, repeating the same phrase she had been all week. "You'll see. Just be patient."

It really was quite difficult for Meadowlark to hear those words day in and day out, especially because of how hard she was trying to speak up for herself! She knew Sorrel meant it in a kind way and was just excited about the surprise, but Meadowlark couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated and dejected. Asking for help wasn't easy!!

Buttermilk: Takara
Prompt: Takara dug out a pen and paper, ready to take notes, and started jotting down all of her questions. The first several were easy - how much sunlight, how much water, how big was this going to get, what kind of plant was it, and what to expect as it grew. She'd heard about the corpse flower in faraway jungles - how it grew and grew and grew, and then bloomed with such a horrific stench that it was likened to rot and death. Or there were those carnivorous plants, and their many tricks... but this plant at least... mostly... didn't look like a Venus Flytrap. Well, as far as she knew, anyway. But she did at least know there were others. Or, if it was a mint - like she'd thought by the smell that could have been something else - was it just going to grow all over the place?

With little ado, she approached Sorrel, handed over the sheet, and had but one simple, but harried, thing to request: "Please help."

Buttermilk: Zaria
Prompt: 5 and extra combined
Zaria was so excited to see that her plant was taking shape, those big leaves were definitely proof it would grow to be the tallest plant in the garden! But she wasn’t quite sure how tall as she didn’t recognize the plant’s features. She took a walk through the gardens, looking for plants with similar leaves whose identity she knew, but nothing resembled her mysterious companion. Its leaves looked almost tropical, and she knew nothing about those kinds of plants. She decided to visit Sorrel again, Sorrel had helped her plant when it was stuck, and she would be able to tell Zaria what special care it needed. She headed to the greenhouse to ask for advice. β€œHey Sorrel, I’m not sure what kind of plant this is, could you let me know? I can do some research on how to care for it, so I don’t bother you anymore” Zaria chuckled. Sorrel smiled at Zaria but didn’t reveal any secrets. Zaria didn’t want to pester and wasn’t sure how to react, so she awkwardly left the greenhouse staring at her plant. Zaria was a little bummed that Sorrel wouldn’t tell her anything, she only wanted what was best for the plant. She could only hope that Sorrel had enough confidence in her to raise the plant the best way she knew how.
