Prompt: "well, i'm pretty happy in the gladiola herd, really," pandora said, scraping her hoof in the dirt nervously. "but...you know, i've seen other buttermilks behind fences in barns, taken care of by humans, and i guess i'm a little jealous. they seem so secure, getting fed every day, safe from danger. i wouldn't mind one bit living behind a tall white fence with a nice big yard full of fresh green grass and flowers, getting fed corn and such. i wouldn't want to do it alone, though - i'd want some of the herd to come with me. basil, for sure, and maybe some of the calves, like mabel - she's a sweetheart. and, well, darla too - i couldn't leave for somewhere safer knowing i'm leaving one of the older herd members behind! and of course, i'd miss halley, and heck, i think i'd miss that lazy oaf autumn, too..." she trailed off as she realized how many buttermilks she was listing. she laughed and shook her head. "no, no, i don't want any of that - i'm happy just where i am, with the rest of the herd. there might be a lot of them, now, and it sure does get me nervous, but they're still important to me."

Word Count:414
Prompt: Elizabeth smiled as she saw Antheia approach all the crops that needed to be harvested for the farmers market. "I'm glad you could join us today! While we harvest do you mind if you answer few questions?" Antheia did not see the harm in it so she nodded her head and waited for Elizabeth to ask. "Well, if you had unlimted funds, where would you live? How would you decorate your home? Do you think you would live with others?"

All the questions hit Antheia in the head and hard. The questions given really required thinking. She signed deeply while she helped pick some of the crops and put them into a wooden basket. "If I had unlimited funds, you say? I think I would move across the country if I had that or even to another continent. No specific place I suppose. I would like to see everything though, so that would be exciting. Just to enjoy a small piece of every place and have it in my heart and memory to hold forever, it's sweet, like Azi's jams. I would probably live in the forest in a cottage because it would feels safe to me and cozy, of course. Honestly, I'm not sure how I would decorate the house. I would definitely have lots of plants inside and outside the home. I would make sure the furniture has a "old" look to it to make everything seem put together. It would be beautiful in my opinion. Just sitting by the fireplace in my favorite armchair covered in blankets and sipping a sweet beverage. Maybe even reading a book. As for people living with me goes, I'm not quite sure. Yes, I love people but I don't know if I want others staying at my home. But, if it was someone I really cared about I would make the right decision and allow them to stay as long as they want. Everyone would be welcomed in my home, I just need to have some me time..." She placed more crops into the basket as Elizabeth listened to every word.
"Not to bad, that sounds nice. Also while you were talking you seemed to be focused on picking crops too! We collected a lot. Thank you for telling me those things. We can bring these baskets back to the booth and then you could held to other booths if you would like?"
Antheia stood up, taking the basket with her, "Sounds like a plan."

Word Count: 360
Prompt: "Right now, I've perfectly happy and grateful living in the house that's been in my family for generations. It's a beautiful farm house, and has so much room! Many of the decorations have been in my family for as long as the house has existed, and I couldn't bear to remove them. Besides, everything there holds so many memories.
But of course, if I had all the money in the world, you know I'd live on Mars. Technology is being invented at this very moment that could build a life-sustaining structure on Mars at the click of a button! It would be so sleek and efficient, formed to conserve energy. It would be the epitome of futuristic smart-houses, and even though it's a long ways off from the house that I grew up in that barely has electricity, I know I would love it! Of course, I wouldn't be able to decorate it much, as the amount of things we can bring from Earth would be limited. Just Mars' scenery would be enough 'decoration' for me, though! Imagine waking up under a glass dome and knowing you have an entire planet to explore with no one to bother you. Oh, I guess that kind of answers your other question, doesn't it? Since my dream house would be hundreds of millions of miles from Earth, I would have to be pretty committed to and in love with however I bring with me. In addition, they would have to supportive and share my dreams. If one day I find that bull (or really good friend, of course), then I would take them with me. That may never happen, though, because no matter what I'd have to put up with them for the rest of my life, sharing a limited area. Logically, I know that we would never be able to stray too far from out home, but I would be okay with that compromise. Although I would have to sacrifice some of the luxuries of living on a planet formed to support life, it's always been my dream to be on Mars instead, and so no doubt someday, that's what I'll do!"

Buttermilk: Breezy
Word Count: 314
Prompt:
Breezy could immediately tell you her dream home and dream location, so thank you for giving her the chance to blabber in about it!

The grey and white heifer lit up just at the thought of her dream home. It would be a great big log cabin out in the middle of the woods on a lake. She’d clear some of the trees out so that she would have a nice big yard and a wonderful view of the water from the windows of her cabin. She would additionally construct a long, outstretching dock, and plop a couple of plastic colorful lawn chairs at the end to sit in and admire sunsets over the water’s horizon. She’d still leave plenty of trees around to have her own personal hiking trails as a way to escape even further into nature.

The inside of the cabin would be as open and spacious as possible. Breezy would love it if it had a portion of floor to ceiling windows or a sliding glass door even facing the lake, to really have the best opportunity possible to take in all those breathtaking views. The walls would be painted in light, gentle, soothing colors to promote and air of calmness. The furniture and decor would all try to follow the same color scheme, but some cute trinkets Breezy would find to be too irresistible to purchase for decoration may stray every now and then.

With a more open concept, she would have plenty of space to practice yoga indoors in the event that the weather isn’t cooperative for yoga in the woods or on the dock. The cabin would be big, but not too big as to be overwhelming. There would be a room for Breezy all to herself, and then multiple guest bedrooms for company to come stay a few nights, such as friends, or her mother Bakari.

    Word Count: 268
Prompt: Lyre was harshly pulling carrots from the ground when she was asked where she’d want to live.
“Well, I don’t really like the theoretical...” she pulled up another carrot and tossed it into the basket sitting at her feet. “But if I got to live anywhere in the world? Hm... put me in the bright lights of Hollywood. There’s tons of drama there, I’d blend in perfectly! Besides,” she flicked her hair and posed. “Wouldn’t you say I’m star quality?” she chuckled before getting back to work. She let out a grumble of annoyance when she realised Elizabeth wasn’t going anywhere without a proper answer. “Not a fan of sarcasm, Lizzie?” She sighed and peeled off her gloves, genuinely thinking as she took a sip from her water bottle and adjusted her hat.
“I do have more expensive tastes than most of the cows at my barn, if not all... I won’t say I want it but, I wouldn’t mind a massive house all to myself. I love my own space, and I could do whatever I wanted with it! I could paint my own face on all the walls and no one could have a say in it!” She looked over at Elizabeth. “I do have to say though, I’m more of the travelling type. I’d love to go and explore the world, so I’d probably just have a cute little apartment to go home to, full of designer clothes that I’d interchange between trips. A place to call my own, even if it’s small, is good enough for me. Something that I don’t have to share.”

Buttermilk: Eponine
Word Count: 430
Prompt:

Can I turn back time? No? Money doesn't count for much anymore, not with the dead walking the earth and the economy nonexistant.  Eponine is contemplative.  There's no use for what ifs of things that will never be.  But... Before. Before this all happened, she had wishes and dreams to look forward to.  If now was then?

She tries to think back on how she was then - softer, gentler.  The world has no place for these things anymore.  But soft, gentle Eponine - she was a wistful dreamer, and whatever she wanted she believed she could achieve.  Her father had taught her that.

Old Eponine, the one who believed in fairies and magic, would have wanted to live seaside in Scotland.  Maybe in a lighthouse where she could pretend to guard the coast from sea serpents and sirens... Or maybe in an old crumbling castle, like and ancient Seelie queen.  She'd rule over the Ellylon, Gwragedd Annwn, and Coblynau.

Yes, she'd live in a castle.  It would be at the crest of a cliff, overlooking the sea.  Moss-covered stone would build it up, with crumbling walls returning to the earth, and hundreds of wildflowers growing from every crevice. Little lanterns would line the walkways, dotting the keep like fireflies.

A single tower would spiral higher than the rest, reaching for the moon.  In it would be all manner of dried herbs and plants - bushels of lavendar and sage, rosemary and thyme.  A twine wrapped, spiral staircase would lead all the way up - and every inch would be covered in vines and flowers. Scottish flame creepers would climb the castle walls - their red blooms beacons in the green landscape.

From the top balcony she would look over sea and land.  Seals would splash in the bay and sunbathe upon the rocks.  Eagles would dive low for fish and roost in the rafters above her.  A fox would wander near the castle wall, and a defensive pine marten would pop out and frighten it off.  In the fields beyond the castle herds of red and roe deer would migrate through seasonally.

In the spring a kaleidoscope of butterflies would flutter by, and out past the bay a pod of orcas would surface.  It would be unendingly peaceful - and of course she's bring her flock of parakeets and clowder of cats. Her castle would be outfitted for their every need.  Perhaps even Ghost would tag along, especially given how much of a recluse she was.

"It would be paradise," Eponine murmurs, her smile wistful and melancholy.  "Paradise doesn't exist. Not anymore."

“I’d like to help harvest some more!”
Username: Yodel
Buttermilk: Alli
Word Count: 579 words
Prompt:
After the events of yesterday's stumble, Alli was hesitant to return to the crop fields, but she was worried that she would be letting Liz down, so she ultimately decided to return anyway. She figured she should get it over with first so she didn't have to anticipate it for the rest of the day, but planned to go see what the news was about the loose duck, whom she worried about. But she tried not to let that distract her, after all, she didn't want to trip again.

The splotches heifer approached the shaded booth next to the field, wanting to see if she could scoot past Elizabeth and just get right to work on collecting the produce. She hoped she hadn't seen her trip yesterday and that she wouldn't bring it up, Alli would rather pretend it didn't happen.

As Alli came upon the edge of the field, she heard the familiar voice behind her, welcoming her back for another day. "Well I'm curious now my dear! Where are you from?" Liz began. Alli stopped in her tracks, her heart jumping just a little. She slowly turned around, "Uh, well, currently I live at Red Robin Ranch, a farm a little way that direction," Alli gestured with her nose. She watched as the other cow's blue eyes flickered in that direction, before once again resting on her, waiting to hear more.

"But, I have heard rumours that there is a possibility of relocation, although I'm not quite sure where that is yet, or if it is actually going to happen or not, I suppose we'll see." She stopped for a moment, "I suppose you want to know more?" she stammered. "I personally think it's a lovely place to live, there's a lot of open space to roam, and not a lot of strict rules. There's a cozy barn available if we wish to use it, it provides great shelter for those to don't enjoy the rain, or snow, or wind."

"My favourite thing about the farm is that because it isn't super secluded or closed off, my love, Basil, is able to come and pay me a visit as often as she would like," the heifer's bovine cheeks beginning to glow pink.

"This relocation might pose a threat to that, unfortunately though," Alli mumbled. "But, if we had unlimited funds and possibilities, I could imagine it being so much better than it is already. I can't think of too many things I would improve, except maybe more space to roam, or a special place for Basil and her heard to stay when she comes to visit, maybe then she could visit for longer. Ideally, it would be somewhere with abundant wildlife, I would adore seeing some cute little critters more often. Oh! Maybe we could even adopt some barn cats? That would be the cutest!"

By this point, Alli had begun to ramble. "I could decorate my own little space, maybe a stall? I bet Bloom would help me bring in some pleasant little flowers to brighten up the place. I could even put some food out for the mice." After realizing how long-winded her speech was becoming, she decided this would be a good place to stop. "I'm sure you're tired of me talking by now, I should go start collecting the crops, huh?" Alli nodded to the older heifer and turned, entering the field, looking forward to the mindless task, and to continuing her daydream.

Beth smiled. This would be an easy one!

"I would definitely have my home located in Antarctica. I love the cold so much, even if I have to bundle myself up in clothes to not get sick.

"I think I would have a main, huge wooden house to keep my food and things that need to be warm. And I would have an igloo in my backyard where I'd spend most of my time.

"I would live all alone without any other Buttermilks. I would try and make friends with the polar bears and penguins, but if they were unfriendly, I would be okay with that."

Beth smiled again. "And that is what my dream house would be like!"
