As time had shown time and time again, a show breed was always needed. And Diana took her pedigree very, very seriously. To the point where even tossed onto the street at the tender age of a year old, she only associated with decently gened mutts. That was to say, they knew their breed without her having to ask. A German shepherd mix, for instance, though a mutt, still acted and paraded like a German Shepherd ought. A Pekinese with unknown heritage beyond her mother, was always vocal the way the breed had been. So perhaps it was her own fault for assuming they would band together. After all, a pure pedigreed dog like her ought to have some back up here. Oh, if she'd only known she'd be betrayed this way! Oh if only she'd realized. Which is why when she'd woken up from one of her midday siestas oh what a terror it'd been to discover, they'd left her.
Abandoned again, only worse! By her own kind! How treacherous! Even if what she'd said about their looks was perhaps a bit rude, they didn't have to leave her so coldly! When the humans discovered her, she was nothing more than skin and bones and oh how she howled for their help. Never again would she ever look to pedigreed mutts to help her! Still, a tiny voice in her mind had piped up, perhaps she had taken things too far with them. She'd been rather forward in thinking they'd help her.
Oh but that mindset was hard to break. After all, momsy always said a pedigree gets you places! Oh, but what a place she was in now! Momsy would be absolutely appalled and pops would disown her on the spot looking at her fur in such tatters. That tiny voice spoke up again and she couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe she'd deserved it when those dogs left. After all, she had been very...vocal about her...talk of pedigreed dogs.
