Surprisingly, Gwen hates swimming with a passion.
She tried it once. She was a wee calf, barely a month old. She'd been playing with her friends when one of them dared her to swim in the lake by their ranch. Gwen, being the brave cow she is, accepted the dare and dove into the water only to find it ice cold. Gwen does not like the cold. She panicked and flailed in the water, which threatened to drag her down. Her friends realized the mistake they made and went to go get help, for Gwen was sinking.
It took five minutes, and by then Gwen's snout was almost under. Thankfully, Gwen's father, who knows how to swim, grabbed her and pulled her out. Neither of the children where punished for their tomfoolery, but Gwen has been left scarred for life, and even the thought of water (larger than a puddle) gives her chills.
