You slowly walk down the cobbled path, unsure of what you may see at the end. Is there actually going to be greenhouse at the end? After walking for what seems like centuries and seeing nothing but the surrounding wildlife, you're starting to doubt it... Maybe it was an old sign?

Then, you see it: a large glass building with a stone foundation. The morning sun is hitting it, making it hard to see what's inside through the glare, but you're pretty sure you can make out a lot of green blobs and maybe some... what is that, pink?



As you get closer you realize it is definitely a greenhouse, and inside you find a heifer crouched down, tending to the soil around some plants. "Oh!" she gaspes when she notices you, standing up to shake off the dirt on her apron, "I didn't see you there- I don't usually expect anyone so early! Well, I'm Sorrel, and welcome to my greenhouse!"

"You wouldn't happen to want to help a gardener out a little, by any chance?" she asks with a warm, gentle smile.

"Oh, sure! What do I need to do?"

Sorrel's smile widens into a grin and she shuffles off without another word, disappearing somewhere in the back - you can't see where she is through all the plants. A few minutes later she reappears with an empty terracotta pot and a small bag of soil, grin even wider than it was when she left. She puts the supplies in her hands down and reaches into her pocket, pulling out a fist full of something.

She drops a fist full of seeds into your outstretched hand, "Could you plant these for me? I spend so much time tending for the plants that I already have that I don't have enough time to plant new ones and look after the sprouts!"

Prompt:
Carmie smiles at the cow's request. Carmie quite likes gardening. She's debated once or twice to start a garden in the field of the ranch, but she worries that her friends may trample on it and eat the growing veggies and fruits so she's refrained from doing so thus far. However, the heifer would never decline to do anything garden-related!
The heifer takes the seeds, sniffing them and turning them in her hooves. She looks up, about to ask what type of seed they are, but the heifer named Sorrel has disappeared. Carmie quirks her head in puzzlement, but says no more and bends down to the soil. The heifer holds the seeds in her hoof tentatively, hoping a bug of some sort doesn't crawl out and spook her. She doesn't have a strong liking of bugs, which is strange to some of her friends, considering her love for dirt, plants, and the outdoors.
Unfortunately, luck is not on Carmie's side. A big wasp-like bug buzzes through the open door of the greenhouse, sensing Carmie and flitting closer.
Carmie places the seeds gently into the holes she dug into the soil. It doesn't even dawn on her what the buzzing noise is until she glances up. A wasp, fat and red, glimmers ominously in the air above her.
Carmie screams, shimmying backwards and getting up quickly. The few delicate seeds left in her hoof fall onto the ground. The soil around Carmie is kicked up as Carmie falls backwards once again as the wasp buzzes closer. The heifer covers her head with her arms- just as Sorrel walks in. The heifer stares quizzically at her. Carmie forces herself to chill as she watches the wasp fly away from her, distressed by the flailing and the flying dirt.
Carmie's face flushes in embarrassment as she looks apologizingly at Sorrel.
"I'm so sorry! I uh- I don't like bugs..."
Carmie sighs.

Prompt: holly was glad that the herd was dispersed throughout the market - it was a welcome break from the buttermilks that she should call her friend and family, but that she tended to find annoying and unworthy of her attention. she much preferred to meet all of the new buttermilk wandering around the stalls. she smiled at sorrel as she entered the greenhouse. "yeah, sure, i'll help!" she usually wasn't one who followed the suggestions of others, but she had a real green hoof, and a soft spot for flowers. she wasn't sure if these plants were flowers or not, but either way, this seemed like a task the gladiola herd's gods would smile upon. helping plant seeds seemed like a much better task than mingling with her herd. she delicately placed the seeds into the pot, carefully covering them up with a little soil, watered it generously, and placed the pot in a spot she deemed suitable. she whispered a brief prayer and then beamed for a moment. her casual grumpy face returned quickly after, but she was actually in a rather rare good mood. "all done with that one! need any more help?"

Prompt:
An assortment of mystery seeds was plopped into Matcha’s hoof. This stranger was entrusting her to care for whatever may sprout, yet didn’t know Matcha at all. The soft heifer shuffled the seeds carefully between her two hoofs, studying their shape, color, and size. After taking a moment to inspect them in awe, she looks up at Sorrel, smiling, and agrees to help her.

Matcha backtracks to a section of the greenhouse where she had noticed some individual pots and soil bags when she first entered. With all her fragile might, she opens up one of the soil bags and dumps a good amount into one of the pots. Quite a bit of dirt ended up scattered around her on the floor due to her lack of strength, but she tried her very best for these seeds, and would go back and clean everything up once she had finished taking care of her seeds.

The flowery heifer gently lays the seeds down in the pot, scooping soil over them little by little and softly patting it down to make sure the seeds were securely planted. She hummed a happy little tune for the duration of her work, a soft smile slowly creeping over her lips. Matcha wandered around in search of a watering can to nourish her newly planted seeds, and luckily enough found a broom along the way to sweep up her mess. She sprinkled a generous amount of water over her seeds, and swept the loose soil out to other planets growing big and tall in the greenhouse. Her eyes sparkled with pride as she admired her work, patting the dirt over her seeds one last time before saying goodbye and see you tomorrow to them before heading out the door.

Prompt: Hanahaki didn't necessarily specialize in plants such as this woman, but he had his own garden that he tended to as a means of keeping himself company. He smiled gently at her in response, carefully shuffling the seeds over his palm. Seeds were a very delicate form of life, the start of eventual beauty. He valued seeds heavily and respected them far more than a typical individual. Regardless, Han began to quietly wander off, looking for a respectable place to put the seeds. He wasn't sure where he was supposed to specifically put them so he figured he might as well find somewhere unique to place them.
An old sidewalk seemed like the perfect place to put the seeds. It was slightly away from the greenhouse but eventually led up to the glass building with some walking. Hanahaki considered his option for a moment longer before deciding to crouch down and slowly begin to fill the cracks of the sidewalk in with the seeds in his hand. He was delicate with dropping the seeds in, making sure they all settled slightly before evening out the sidewalk. He took a couple more seconds to find some stray soil to sprinkle over the seeds, covering them. The soil wasn't bound to have any fertilizer, but with nurturing they would do. All that was left to do was to warn Sorrel about her new garden and that she should be careful when walking over the sidewalk. [243W]

Prompt:

Viola cringes when the seeds are dropped into her palm, the utter disgust and contempt for the small objects sticking out like a sore thumb. She purses her lips, eyes darting back and forth from the seeds to Sorrel's eyes a multitude of times. She grimaces, scoffing and putting the seeds into a plastic baggy and immediately fishing a small bottle of hand sanitizer from her Valentino white bag.

"You... want me, to do what?" she sneers, violently rubbing the sanitzer into her dainty hands. "As if I would EVER desire partaking in something so... so... dirty! Preposterous! The only reason I am here is because I was told you had an actual working ladies room. I will NOT be caught dead OR alive using an outhouse, you are gravely mistaken!"

"Though, perhaps as a thank you, because I am a gentlewoman after all, I will help you do... whatever this mess is called. However you will not speak a word of this to anyone else- seeing a lady such as myself tilling dirt is unheard of where I was raised, and I will not became the laughingstock of my family!" She stomps off, the need to relieve herself an afterthought, the muttered and broken German tumbling form her lips the only things heard as she departs to a corner of the greenhouse, eyes scanning the available plots of fresh soil until she finds one in the back corner. Her nose turns upward at the thought of even reaching to dig a hole, but she sighs, taking the seeds out of the plastic baggie and situating her hand inside, using the bag as a formidable barrier between her soft hands and the soil. She grunts in approval when she deems the hole is deep enough, placing the seeds in their plots and covering them up, giving them a generous douse of water from the available watering can. Unfortunately, the watering can slips from her grasp falling to the floor with a thud and prompting a string of German choice words to spill from her lips. Upon retrieving the watering can she utters a deafening shriek of disgust, noticing the presence of dirt under her fingernails.

She groans, moving to stand of shaky legs and bolting out of the greenhouse. "Absolutely disgusting!" (381 words)

Prompt: 180 words

A fist now full of little smooth seeds, Meadowlark held her hand out to grab the terracotta pot. It was larger than she expected, and she nearly dropped it on the greenhouse floor. Embarrassed, she scurried off to the corner of the room to get the plant all comfy. She was never one for conversation, and loved her time alone, not to mention she just nearly caused a scene! She now however was stuck in the position of not knowing what the heck these seeds were. How was she supposed to give them proper care without knowing what they where?! And how was she going to find out what they were without..... asking. Oh god, the horror. The only thing standing before her and a lovely plant was talking to the sweet girl who had greeter her. If only it had been an abandoned greenhouse, she mused.

With the well-being of the plants in mind she marched (okay, more like crept, or snuck) up to Sorrel to ask how to properly care for them. Some things were just worth it.

Prompt: Triton is stunned silent for a few moments but he can't ignore the fact that the opportunity to plant seeds in the greenhouse is making him practically buzz with excitement. "S-Sure thing! I have plenty of experience with all sorts of plants. Flowers, succulents, cacti, crops, saplings-" He cuts himself short, noticing he's rambling on and on about one of his only hobbies again. "S-So that means you have nothing to worry about." He takes a deep breath and takes the seeds, shuffling over to the farthest corner of the greenhouse. He looks at the seeds and quickly determines half of them to be calla lilies and the other to be...ghost orchids? Triton spun around in disbelief, ready to confront Sorrel about the rare seeds but she was nowhere to be seen. His eyes practically glimmered as he set them down gently and began preparing everything he needed to make sure the tiny babies would grow big and strong under his parenting skills. He worked diligently, tongue hanging slightly out of his mouth as he concentrated on pouring the right amount of soil into the pots and covering the seeds with the utmost care. He smiled to himself, wiping a bit of sweat off his brow, consequentially getting dirt on his forehead. After sprinkling some plant food and water he stood back to admire his work. He was proud of himself and he hadn't even realized how much time had passed. He took a few deep breaths and cleaned the station before walking out, satisfied with his plant children.
