Also, hopefully they won’t go hungry. Never did he ever expect to be at the shelter himself, but his owners still donate some food at least.

I felt a dull pain in my tail, but it was okay. It was starting to go numb anyway. Everyone knows that tails have a mind of it's own. If you arent jumping up and down, then your tail will surely do it for you, with or without permission. And besides, there was much more important things on my mind than my annoying tail.

The mechanical operating transporter, or MOT as I call it, was getting closer to the high class dinner building. I only knew since we passed by these very same landmarks once every full moon. My eyes followed each on as I stuck my head out of the window. Which in itself, was a feat. I had to much sure the glorious wind created by the MOT, didnt force my tongue to hit me in the face. The memory of tasting my own eye goop also made me cringe.

Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack. Whack.

The one and only smell of greasy fat sizzling under prime cow meat. I could practically see the tender image in my head. And the faint but oh so sweet smell of the creamy goodness that is mixed of so many flavour in one bite! But also very cold. I always feel so frozen afterwards and need some cuddles to warm up.

Whack. Whack. The MOT stopped moving and we were in front of the building! Whackwhackwhackwhaclwhack. I sat back into the seats to glate at my tail. It was so tempting to grab it and make it stop. But atlas I was interrupted.

"Okay, jasper. Remember your manners." Came a voice from an aging man. But it was one I knew since I was a puppy. Marquis clipped the leash on to the back of my collar. Only then did my stupid tail stop attacking the leather seats of the MOT. Instead of jumping up, I learned that prancing was better to express my joy. Marquis was nearing his time, I could sense it, and I had to be careful. We really weren't suppose to be going out by ourselves, but it made him so happy. So, by default, this was my favorite place. It made me the happiest to see Marquis smile and laugh.

Together we walked into one of the only canine friendly dinner buildings. We got our usual seat by the window, and for some reason this place was just special. I'm told its a retro 50's theme, with menu included. But really what gets me is what they call the rootbeer float. Marquis always shares a little bit of his with me and thats what it means to be loved.

his time as a pup was spent being told 'no', being pulled away from things that he definitely wanted to chase, being picked up and turned over and having his toes grabbed and pinched, his ears tugged on, his tail held firmly. though he became desensitized to uncomfortable touch after a short while, he couldn't get over his need to bark and chase and jump.

so by the time he was half a year old, it was decided that cola wouldn't pass as a service dog. he just had too much energy. he went back into foster care.

but the thing was, he loved people! his tail would wag so hard that his butt would wiggle whenever somebody approached, and that gave him a bit of a leg-up when it came to being adopted. except...

cola developed separation anxiety, and he got it bad. people with young kids didn't want to bring a dog home who would keep them awake all night by crying. couples finally getting settled in their own place couldn't afford to have a dog that chewed up all their nice new furniture in a panic every time they went to work. what was to be done about silly, friendly cola?

well, why not be the mascot for a local retro ice cream parlor? of course! he could go to work with his folks, be around people all day (his absolute favorite thing) and even steal a lick of vanilla ice cream every once in a while! and bring in more business, too, which he could care less about, because he's getting all the love and attention he needs by everybody who comes in the door.
