Euphorian Thoroughbred #630

Postby hellenistic » Tue Apr 07, 2020 12:12 pm

Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

The melody of our love will forever dance on the tongues of songbirds.

I always know when he's happy when the mockingbirds erupt into a chorus of elated chatters, and as they take flight my heart soars away with them.

It began when we were children, our farms right across the street from each other. Our parents refused to let us speak to each other, our loud banter and shrill laughter causing a loud disturbance on either side of the black-top. We were forbidden to approach the fence-line barring us from the road, leaving us both to our own lonely devices, staring at each other longingly and wishing to close the ever-growing space between us. Our friendship only seems to grow though we couldn't speak, and one day through sheer accident we finally realized how we could bridge the gap.

A sad tune was the beginning of it all. The radio in the barn that day had played a sad, slow-tempo piano ballad that had lodged itself in every groove and fold of my brain that I couldn't shake it no matter how hard I attempted to. I had whistled it softly as I followed my mother through the pasture to her favorite grazing spot, my eyes languidly scanning the pasture across the cracked pavement where I saw him and his mother replicating our actions. He seemed as down-and-out as I was, sulking behind his mother, bumping into her rump when she stopped abruptly to snag a few fresh shoots from the sodden earth. I sighed, starting up my whistling once more as my mother and I reached the far end of the field, where the noisy mockingbirds seemed to congregate ordinarily. My whistling had been loud enough for them to pick up on, their high pitched chittering slowing down and crudely replicating the sad and somber tune that had then faltered on my lips. As soon as it had begun, it spread like an invisible wildfire, the forest erupting with the tune and carrying over to the families of birds nesting in the trees that canopied over his fence-line. His head had snapped up, eyes trained directly on my form and I could feel my cheeks heat up in embarrassment, hoping the mockingbirds wouldn't mimic the awkward chuckle that escaped me. It was then that I had watched it in slow-motion, the way his lips formed a perfect "o" before closing once more, his head trained to the trees; and as the second verse of the song's chorus slowly filled the forest on my side, my heart had melted down to the wick.

We continued talking through birdsong constantly after that, our parents never truly figuring out what had made the two of us so musical as of late, and we relished in the giddy feeling of their ignorance. We told each other every day of our emotions, whether happy, angry, or sad through the birds, and continued to do so even when we had become old enough and ready to move on to greener pastures. Our songs The songs littering the forests that day were somber and yearning as I watched him be ushered into the back of a rusty trailer and driven out of sight, taking the fragments of my shattered heart with him. It wasn't long before it became my turn, my mother sobbing quietly as a representative of my new home coaxed me into the spacious and tidy trailer, straw already laid out for me and a bucket of fresh water at my disposal. The ride was smooth, the treeline blurring as we increased speed and the tears began falling from my cheeks. The ride was long and grueling, though thankfully the trailer was large enough for me to be able to lie down and have a fitful sleep. Sonata Stables was a beacon of light slicing through my dark thoughts, my new herd-mates wonderful and welcoming as the staff. I had made friends easily and at a rate I never had before, and their comfort and presence helped me forget about my childhood friend for a long while... Until one day when I had decided to follow Bravado to the fence-line barricading us from the road, a familiar shiny coat glistening in the pasture across the way.

My heart had begin leaped in my chest, Bravado glancing over at me quizzically before shrugging and leaving me to gather myself on my own. I couldn't help but look to the trees above me, the newly built starling nest alight in soft chirps, and I whistled to them the song I had whistled all those years ago. My heart fluttered as the song flooded the woods, hopping over the road and entering his pasture. I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear when his head had snapped up in the direction of my pasture, his eyes lighting up and his form racing toward his end of the fence. Once more, we had begun whistling to each other from across the way, the feelings I had buried deep within the recesses of my heart sprouting up and flowering once more, as we communicated in the only language we've ever known, the melody of our love dancing on the tongues of the songbirds.

The mockingbirds sung in their choir and the wind whistled through the emerald green leaves of the ancient oak sitting in the corner of the pasture. I quietly watched as the other horses in the field next to mine basked in the warm sun, seemingly without a care in the world. Their carelessness ensnared me, with no explanation to be found. How could they feel so at ease while I sit anxiously awaiting the worst to come?

That’s when I saw her. Her gleaming coat shone in the sun’s rays, her white markings so bright that they had almost blinded me. I had heard her name once before, slipping from the lips of the bright eyed stable boy. Salem. She trotted with her head held high, ears flicking in all directions, as soon as I saw her I knew. This was the reason the herd was so at ease.

Salem happily made her way to her stallion, a tiny foal zipped back to his father’s flank upon her arrival. But Salem lovingly assured the little one that everything was alright. The mare nuzzled her mate, and softly nickered a greeting to him.

This tore me up. Never had I wanted to be with another horse more. I neighed, pleaded for her assurance, but she did not come. She didn’t come trotting up to me that day, or ever. I turned around and began to slowly shamble to the great oak that had given me shade and comfort on my worst of days. That’s when I heard him. He softly whinnied for me. It was Splash, one of the Stallions from the field next to mine. I had noticed that Splash was just as disregarded as myself, and often wondered if it was for good reason.

I nervously looked at him, unsure of whether or not this was a good idea, but my loneliness and sheer need for companionship overthrew me. I slowly walked to the tall stallion, and, as I saw it, each step was getting me closer and closer to an unfathomable change. If my dam had seen me now, she would have joked that I was on my way to the executioner. After what had seemed like an entirety of trudging through the tall green grass, I was at the fence. He gently pressed his nose to mine, and we exchanged breaths ever so carefully. Suddenly, I felt a soft nuzzle on my neck, giving me the feeling as if everything would be okay. A single tear rolled down my face, and for once in a life time, I felt as though I had a friend who I could reside in.

Every day after that, we ran laps together in the field, only stopping only to meet each other at the fence line. We spent hours laughing together, crying together and everything in between. That bright eyed eventually stable boy took note of this, and Splash was permanently moved into my field. As soon as they released him into the field, we both ran to each other so quickly, that we both were surprised we didn’t throw a shoe in the process.
Now we are old and tired boned, and while neither of us are energetic yearlings anymore, we still enjoy a lap or two around the field for old times sake.

This is my first time doing anything close to a role play, so please be gentle ^^ thank you so much for the chance to win this beautiful boy, I hate to say it, but I’m attached XD

One more note, how do we know if we’ve won? I’ve never done this before ^^

Show Name:Slight switch
Barn Name:Switch
Gender: Stallion
Age:12
Height:15.7hh
Halter:You choose
Discipline: Show jumper
Competition: Switch has a difficult time expressing his love,he is often misunderstood because he is an ex police horse. Switch will often try to express himself by giving his lover distance and trying to get closer to them over time. He often got rejected and tried different things to catch the attention of mares in the other paddocks. His first successful relationship was with a mare called Finch. She was brave and known for getting sassy with her owners if they put her in a different box or paddock since she looked down at the other mares which didn't listen to her. Finch was a dark bay with a wide blaze on her dark eyed face. The look in her eye would trap the other stallions at the barn, she was a heartbreaker. Switch instantly fell in love with this sassy bay, he made a big mistake. Finch had control over Switch and she used that to get more feed and whatever she wanted. He never realized that and when she dropped him he was confused. What did he do wrong? Was it his fault? He after that stopped trusting people so much and would rather spend his time alone where he could think over the things he did for her.
