I bounced towards him, tail swishing, paws kicking up desert sand as he waved excitedly at me. I could see his carpet hovering nearby, but ran right to him, throwing myself into his arms. His grey-and-white skin was warm as I hugged him, and he swung me around. I grinned, tongue lolling and we staggered dizzily towards the flying carpet. He sat in the front and gripped the carpet's rim, while I clung around his waist. In a matter of minutes, the carpet skidded to a stop outside the traveling faire.

I stared up, entranced as always by the slowly turning ferris wheel, joyfully circling merry-go-round and numerous stalls and games. Sliding my paw in his I pleaded for a merry-go-round ride and he led me over there. I rode a camel happily round and round while the music played and he bought me a toffee apple to eat. After I dismounted, we went for our traditional ride on the ferris wheel, me sucking the toffee and him eating popcorn.



That memory has always been special to her. One time, her brother didn't turn up and she never saw him again, but the sweet taste of toffee combined with the crunch of an apple always reminded her of him. It's a bittersweet dessert for her, but still her favourite.
