Prompt - Ginger was a very good boy, and he knew it. His family told him everyday while scratching him behind the ears. He loved his family very much, especially the young boy who often played with him. He spent two very happy years with his family, and he expected to spend his whole life with them. But then one day, his family did not come back from their vacation. “What could have happened to them?” He wondered, while pacing back and forth in the hallway of the eerily quiet house. The next day, someone he didn’t know opened the door to the house. Ginger jumped back. The person, a middle-aged woman, looked at the cat and shook her head. “I’m so sorry kitty, but you’re owners aren’t coming back. They died on a plane crash on the way home.” The woman picked him up and put him in a carrier. Ginger was too stunned to resist. His family had... died? The woman lifted his carrier into a truck, and an hour later, they were at some sort of animal shelter. He was put in a cage by the front window, and he just sat there, starting out the window, trying to process what had just happened. “Died, died, died...” That one word kept repeating over and over in his head. He continued to stare bleakly out the window, wondering how he would go on living when his owners, who had been so kind to him, were dead.

Prompt - george had a fairly good start in life being born at a cattery. he would never experience the harsh world outside of the shelter of his breeder's house like strays & ferals. the way things were shaping up he would spend the rest of his days as a spoiled house cat. Sure enough one day a young woman bought him. she, however, was blinded by the cuteness of a small kitten too really think about her choice.

one thing was for certain he greatly underestimated how adventurous that little cat would be. he was always getting into things he wasn't supposed to or running out of the house. he was just going kitten things however, she lacked the experience to realize this and the novelty of a new cat ran out real fast. she was generally didn't really bother with him which was bad for a cat that needs a lot of attention. one day when he ran out she didn't bother to go and look for him. the young cat traveled a far way from home and couldn't find his way home. the young cat had never been on his own before and was often outcompeted by the other more experienced cats for food. it was a rough few months until SFA found him, he was overjoyed to see friendly people again.

Surprisingly the experience didn't taint his view on people too much if anything it made him more clingy. george isn't really the type to hold a grudge. his owner's indifference and his time on the streets were awful but the past is in the past. he's happy where he is now and that's all that matters to him.
