A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
- John 13:34-35

prompt;Being born albino meant Lux was prevented from certain roles in the pride before she was even named. A lion unable to stand the brutal savanna sunlight couldn't be outside hunting, guarding, patrolling... it was all off the table. She was no noble, either, so she couldn't spend her days indoors as a part of the Champion King's Court.
Her parents didn't have enough wealth to support a grown lion at home, either. Lux spent most of her first years hiding out inside their home, bored out of her mind. Every spare scrap of leather was doodled on with charcoal. The dirt outside of their house where Lux's parents made a covered patio had claw marks from all Lux's creations.
Lux's sensitive eyes couldn't handle the strong daylight at noon but the early morning and dusk was safe enough for her and not painful. That was when she was able to see the most beautiful colors and still have the warmth of day on her thin fur. She was tired of not being able to do anything more than draw in some dirt! Nothing came to mind as something she could do, though, until her 5th birthday. Lux's mother had bought her some painted clay jewelry.
Lux was fascinated. She wanted to learn how to do that! Surely someone could teach her how to paint! It took some doing, but Lux's parents found her an apprenticeship at Champion King Dylan's pride a few days over. There, she could work in a workshop hidden away from the sun's dangerous rays. There, she discovered her best skill:
her eyes were able to pick out colors with much more accuracy and ease than any other artisan there. Her unique perception promoted her quickly into a painter, a member of the artisan class![299/300]
