ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪:
Melina has quite a temper to her. It rises in
bouts usually followed by frustration at
herself for getting so easily angered.
Melina is impatient when it comes to her
work, a minute or even a second still is
wasted time. She is always on the move,
be it gathering the hives’ honey, working
on the next brew, or talking with contacts
to get or sell product.
She’s not all rough around the edges,
however, if you catch her in just the right
mood, you can see she is a determined
woman who is passionate about life.

Melina's favorite drink to sip on is a scoop ..
of blackberry jam and a chunk of
honeycomb all topped off with her
homebrewed honey wine [mead]. The
mead echoes the blackberry because the
honey used to make the mead comes
from bees that feed off of the nearby
blackberry bushes and fruit trees and
the honeycomb helps bring back
sweetness to the mead that may have been
lost to the brewing process/yeast.

Bitter again, Melina cringed.
That’s the fourth batch this season! She kicked the mead barrel with a huff and tears in her eyes. In doing so, some of the strong-smelling liquid splashed out onto the ground.
Melina grabbed her hair with both hands and let out an ‘argg!’
Is it the yeast? It can’t be the honey, we’ve the best honey-makers this side of Áfthona! She looked around confused and sighed.
I guess this place is falling apart a bit.Frowning, Melina made her way to her money’s hiding place: the third board from the wall under her bed. Grabbing a handful of coins, she made her way to the market.
“’Ey Melina! Any new brew today?” A voice called from Melina’s right. The local barkeep, Melina couldn’t quite recall his name at the moment, but he was always a kind man and helped keep the peace in town.
“Unfortunately not,’ She replied, not looing up from the barrels she was inspecting.
“’Tis a shame really, no mead’s a’ sweet a’ yours at the tavern, had ta’ resort ta’ buying some all the way from Fluernaria just ta’ keep people happy.”
“Well, it shouldn’t be an issue after picking up some new barrels, I think pests got to my others, so I’m getting some new ones just in case.”

Melina's family originated from Áfthona, a Greco-
Roman-inspired country ruled by a Dictator-
Queen named Euthalia. However, to escape
Euthalia's reign, her parents fled to the Tri-Queen
Monarchy of Swynére. Here they found a slight
stability in their honey gathering and mead
brewing. They also sold their jams and jellies
from the plants they grow for their bee's
sustenance when they are nearing the end of the
season harvest season. This was a craft they
learned from their psuedo-Egyptian roots,
from ancestors who passed on their knowledge
from a country Euthalia had long conquered
and erased knowledge of even the name.
Melina is the last surviving of her line due to a
water-based contamination from the nearby river
which rendered her bed-ridden for a long time
and claimed the lives of her parents. Since then,
she has strived to keep the traditions of her
family alive the best she can.

│ └──────────────────┘ Handing some coin to the vender, she gestured to three barrels of different wood types, “These please.”
The shop-keep nodded and started helping her load them onto her wagon.
“I’ll be the first ta’ know when ya' get more in – right?”
Melina smirked, “Of course.”
Melina breathed out a sigh of relief as she started warming some water over the fire for a bath.
Here goes nothing, don’t know if I can afford another failure. She made her way over to her jars of fruits and honeycomb. She broke herself off a small piece to nibble on and broke another small piece into a glass. This was followed shortly by a scoop of blackberry pulp and topped off with some of her last good batch’s honey-wine [mead]. Her favorite drink with her baths, and most meals, especially since getting sick off of the river water from down the way. Melina shook her head at the memory. She barely survived the sickness it brought and it only strengthened her passion for wanting to make her weak but sweet meads. The populous was safer drinking it than water due to it seeming to never carry the evils of sickness water so easily does.
Sipping on her brew, she smiled and went back to enjoy her bath.
