Yewwool nervously shifted in the den, watching as the other cats shuffled around without a care in the world. He watched as the other Hwarang made their movements in the den, conversing, eating, bustling about. All the cats of Coastclan were currently stuck inside their cave camp, an attachment to their main camp which is outside. A snowstorm has started to pick up while they had been out on their duties, which made Yewwool nervous. Turtlesplash was not back yet.
Yewwool cleared his throat, "Has..has anyone seen Turtlesplash?" He spoke out, making the other Hwarang stop.
He watched as Shadowsand looked up from where he was chatting with Wispivy and wandered over to him with worried eyes, "He isn't here?" He quietly asked.
Yewwool shook his head, eyes wide with fear. The other four hwarang cats padded up to him with questions and concerns before the light colored tom pushed past the group and trotted towards the cave exit.
"I'm going out. I need to find him." Yewwool spoke, not looking back at the group before darting out into the freezing wind.
The thin tom almost sprinted into the forest behind their camp, knowing the smaller cat would be hiding there for shelter. Yewwools eyes pricked with small tears from the cold and from his worry about the younger. He wasn't safe in the cold and the entire clan knew that. Yewwool knew that. He shut his eyes as he ran, how could anyone see that he was missing during a time like this?
The forest was no better than the field. In fact, it was worse. The trees almost tipped from the howling wind, brushing snow from their branches, making the frozen fall worse. Yewwool's ears flattened against his head as he slowed his pace, wandering the forest. He checked every bush, hollow, and tree, searching for the younger tom. He gave a scowl before running forward, sinking into the snow with every pawstep. Before he knew it he hit a small lump on the ground, looking down he could see the piebald fur of Turtlesplash buried into the snow. The older tom trembled in shock before quickly leaning himself down to nudge the smaller figure up. He heard the tiny whines and squeaks of Turtlesplash as he hoisted him up and onto his feet before draping him over his back, stumbling towards the nearest hollowed out tree of bush.
The light colored tom wobbled down, making sure to lightly put the freezing tom onto the trunk floor without hurting him. The smaller tom made a small noise before he looked up with squinted and frozen over eyes, barely making out Yewwools name before letting his head rest on the ground. Yewwool gave a shaky breath as he lowered himself to wrap his body around Turtlesplash's freezing frame to warm him.
"We aren't going back out there anytime soon, so please rest up.." The older barely whispered before letting himself drift into slumber.

By the time Yewwool woke up, the storm had calmed down. The storm had reduced down to just small flurries of light snow, making it easier to see and easier to get out. Yewwool poked his head upward, giving a yawn before nudging awake the slumbering cat nuzzled into his side.
Turtlesplash opened his eyes with a small mewl as he nestled further into Yewwool's side, "Y-Yewwool..Why'd you come all the way out here? I was perfectly fine.."
The older male gave a scoff, "You were't fine, Turtlesplash. You were almost going to die of hypothermia. Everyone back at the clan had no idea where you went..you scared me.." He turned his head.
Yewwool then gave a small lick to Turtlesplash's head before helping him up and onto his side so they could leave and get back safely, "C'mon. Up. We're getting you home and back to Sagedrop. She'll help you get better."
Turtlesplash gave a small noise in return before letting Yewwool guide them both out of the trunk shelter and back on track to the clan.

Stormsong hissed from the tangled roots of a tree. The rest of her patrol had gone on with her word, and were probably back in the camp, safe from the winds and falling snow. Most likely worried about her too. Folding her ears back to try and dull the sounds of wind whistling through the roots, she curled up trying to keep her body heat high, the tip of her nose starting to go cold.
‘This is emarassing,’ she hissed to herself, ‘a senior full name getting suck in a blinding snow storm.’ Hissing verbally as a gust of wind and snow bit at her coat and getting underneath it. Shuffling, she moved towards the far side of the tree, slightly more out of the wind than before. Her curiosity getting the best of her as she realized that she could move all the way around the tree under the roots and not seem to get stuck.

She wasn’t sure when she had fallen asleep, mistake number one in her mind, but she woke to her body shivering almost violently. The snow finally falling softer, allowing her to see where she was wanting to go. Home.

She remembered when she had been a new kitten, her eyes barely open. The trees were gold and red and the breeze crackled over her sensitive nose. She had rolled with her litter mates and chased them in the piles of leaves fallen to the earth. Their mother had a burrow in a dead stump, warm and safe for her kittens at night. But then it got colder. They huddled for warmth as they grew, small kittens struggling to survive even as their mother protected them fiercely. One of her brothers was too weak, and she mourned him when he was gone. But their mother insisted they would be fine, and her young believed her.

What they didn't know was that she was but a kitten herself, just ten months old and she had never experienced winter. She did not know of the coming snow, and when the first bluster of white came through the trees it was like the world was ending. "Mama!" she cried out, shocked as the powder stuck to her fur. She tried to outrun it, back to the burrow, but she was so small and she didn't know the way. "Mama!" she called over and over again, unable to find her way back in the changed landscape as the snow fell harder and harder. Her paws were frozen on the ground, and all she could think was that, if she ran far enough, she would get away from the all encompassing monster that assailed her.

So preoccupied with the weather, she never saw the hunter in his orange vest, sneaking through the trees. A horrible noise made her unable to hear anything and she floundered in the drifts, turning to see what had caused the explosion. He stopped shooting when he saw that his prey was not a rabbit or squirrel, but a tiny kitten. She was scooped up into warm gloves, shaking in her short fur as she blinked up at him with kitten blue eyes. She did not scratch or bite, so shocked to see a human for the first time that she did not mark him as the enemy. It seemed right when he tucked her into his warm jacket and carried her back to his growling machine of a truck.

His wife was allergic though, so even if his children had wanted a kitten for Christmas, he did the right thing and brought her to the animal shelter. She was sick and weak, and clearly didn't have the social skills or age necessary to be away from her mother. The animal shelter called on Liddi's Bookshop to take her in and let her learn to be a cat so she might get adopted. She's been there for a few months now, and she's not sure if she wants to stay, or find a home with a human away from the clan.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Why did she think this was a good idea? Why, of all the things she could have done, did she decide to go out into a snowstorm with Atl? She should have known she wouldn't be able to keep up. She should have known he would leave her behind after catching sight of the bird he so desperately wanted to look at. With kit like wonder, Atl had wandered away, leaving Cerulean completely alone.

Well, maybe not completely. She did have the snow to keep her company.

Letting out a snort at her own dry humor, Cerulean nearly rolled her eyes. She was cold. She was tired. And she wanted nothing more than to be in her warm nest, to forget about this stupid bird feather Atl wanted so badly. He could look himself next time, especially in a storm. He, at least, had thicker fur than she did.

Cerulean let out a sigh, her voice lost in the wind, flurrying around with the snowflakes. Where did he go, anyway? Why was a bright red cat so hard to find among the white of the snow? Was she even going the right way anymore? She didn't know, and the thought made her frustrated - and so she did what she knew how to do.

She yelled.

"Stupid furball!" Cerulean yowled as she walked, her voice muffled by the wind as it let out it's own yell, as if in response. "If I die out here, I swear I'm going to come haunt you!"

"Oh, no you're not," Atl's singsong voice was suddenly beside her, oddly muffled, causing her to jump with a yelp. He smiled playfully at her, carrying something in his mouth. That would explain why he sounded muffled. "I found it!" He said cheerily, moving his head so that Cerulean could get a better glance at the feather. Her eyes could barely distinguish it from the snow, as white as it was - there was a few dark stripes in the center of it, making it stand out. "A snowy owl feather."

Cerulean glared at him, feigning disinterest in the owl feather. "I don't care," she huffed, stalking forward again. "I'm going to my nest."

Atl let out a laugh, trotting to catch up to Cerulean. "Are you suuuure?" He asked, jabbing her lightly with his paw.

"Yes," she snapped, shooting him a glare.

"I hate to break it to you, Cerulean, but I've been watching you stomp in circles for a while."

The she-cat paused, scowling again. "Take me home," she ground out, trying her best to keep from pouncing on the frustrating tom. His sense of adventure certainly was more than she had ever bargained for.

Atl let out a laugh, but beckoned for her to follow him. "We're not too far away, so we'll get you warm. Thanks for coming with me." He smiled around the feather, the feature she could always make out, even among the snow flurries. It always made her heart skip a beat.

"Dingo??" A she-cat called out. "Dingooo??" She called out again. No response was given. The wind nipped at her face and sent shivers down her spine. The snow was so thick, she couldn't even see half of a tail-length in front of her. Her heart began to fill with sorrow. She thought she'd never be able to see her brother again. "We shouldn't have gotten on that boat," she shouted, slamming her paw into the deep snow and letting out a sigh of regret.

Several days prior, Sun and her brother, Dingo, had gotten onto a cargo ship in Australia out of sheer curiosity, unaware that it was going to set sail in a few minutes. The horn wailed and sent the two scrambling. They were unsuccessful in their escape. The two set together on the ship for days, hoping to not be seen by twolegs. They were terrified and had no idea what to do aside from wait for the ship to dock. Eventually, it did. The ship docked in America. It was mid-winter. Having never seen snow before, the two were startled and frantically ran off the ship into the storm. They both soon realized how big of a mistake this was.

Unable to see around them, they got split up within the roaring storm. It was sheer chaos and Sun didn't know what to do. She didn't know if this storm would ever end. That didn't stop her though. Sun ran and ran for days. All she did was run. She ran to keep her body warm. She ran to hunt and to find water that wasn't frozen over. She ran to find Dingo. It was an extremely difficult task, but she was determined to find her brother again.

The storm began to slow after a few days, giving Sun a sense of relief. "Once this storm stops, I'll find you," she spoke, looking up into the sky. "I won't give up. I'll keep running until this ends. I promise."
