Prompt: Shatterpaw wobbled dangerously from his perch in the treetops biting back a yowl. He wasn’t a gifted climber by any means but the young Tom was fiercely determined to have the most impressive piece of prey. It was their first hunting examination and it would be the deciding factor of his future. His chosen prey was preening it’s feathers unaware of the danger it as he slowly dropped into a hunters crouch. Shatterpaw set his jaws and launched at the bird which squawked in alarm its wing stretching outwards as it realized what was happening. For the tom it was all happening in slow motion the bird lifting off from the tree branch. It wasn’t fast enough to escape the desperate apprentice and they both went crashing down to the forest floor. Shatterpaw got to his paws when everything stopped spinning wincing at the paw in his paws. He bounded over to where his feathered prize had fallen and picked it up in his jaws beaming with pride at his accomplishment. The apprentice tried to run back to camp but had to settle for walking beaming with pride the whole way there.

Prompt: Aegeus was a house cat. He was not meant to live in the wild. But his sister, Raiza, had wildcat blood in her veins, and when she announced that she wanted to live in the forest, Aegeus had decided right then and there that he would follow her to the end of time.

He was starting to regret his decision.

Aegeus' stomach groaned in hunger as Raiza chewed through a freshly caught vole.

"Could I have some, please?" the tom asked desperately.

Raiza sighed. "Aegeus, if we're going to survive, you're going to learn how to catch your own food."

"But how?"

"Just hide in those bushes and wait."

And so Aegeus waited in silence. Soon enough, a flash of movement caught his eyes.There! A mouse!

Aegeus leapt at it, claws beared as he gave chase, but once he caught up to it, he tripped and fell onto the small rodent.

Aegeus wheezed as he heard a crack beneath him and winced. Um. A squished mouse was still edible, right?

He ignored the hysterical laughing coming from the background as he growled fervently, "Next time, I'm going to catch something bigger than a mouse and do it correctly."
