Cat Name: Raptorkit (Raptordawn)
Clan: Brightclan
Rank: kit

Gender: she-cat
Age: 1 moon

Prompt:
The she-kit trudged through the snow. Every step was cold and exhausting for her. She thought her mama was out here somewhere, but she couldn't be sure. Mama left her here in the snow and disappeared. The she-kit didn't even remember what her mama looked like, but she sure did remember her smell.

The she-kit reached a part of the forest where the snow piled higher and collapsed. She couldn't go on through this, the snow was too high. Her paws were so cold she couldn't feel them. She hardly noticed the turkeys surrounding her. The largest turkey looked at her curiously and reached out its wing, nudging the she-kit under it. The she-kit warmed a bit.

Soon, more turkeys appeared with a fluffy cat in tow, eyes wide with worry.

"What a you doing out here?" The she-cat asked as she nosed the kit, sniffing for any injuries.

"M-mama left me out here!" The she-kit wailed.

"Let's go get you warmed up." The she-cat said as she picked her up by the scruff. Soon, they arrived in a small den. There was another she-cat here with a small kit bundled next to her.

"Plumefrost, what's this?" The she-cat called out, looking worried.

"The turkeys found her out in the snow." Plumefrost responded as she set the she-kit down. "Sunnywish, I think her mother abandoned her." Sunnywish soon bundled her close and Plumefrost laid on the other side of her, surrounding her with warmth.

"Stay close, we'll warm you." Sunnywish told her.

"Do you want to join our family?" Plumefrost asked. These cats definitely weren't her mama, but they were warm and sweet, and had their own good smells. The she-kit snuggled close to them. They were her new mamas!

Cat Name: lightpaw (lightsplash)
Clan: jayclan
Rank: apprentice

Gender: female
Age: 7 moons

Prompt: [295/300]

Shadestar pays little mind to the three apprentices playing in the snow beside her. She wears a hard, stoic expression that they've all come to expect from her. Her mentor lives up to her name like Lightpaw lives up to her own.

With their mentors busy with preparations for the harsh leafbare coming upon them, she'd been tasked to care for more apprentices than she would've liked. Though, she probably would've liked no apprentices at all, notes Lightpaw. She isn't the most social of cats.

Shadestar comes to a sharp halt when a bit of snow hits her face. The apprentices freeze, watching her nose scrunch in distaste then shake it off, in expectant horror. Well, two of them. Amberpaw, unwilling to admit any mistake, even one large such as accidentally kicking snow into their leaders face, looks her in the eyes as she flicks more snow at her.

The both of them shoot her aghast glances, but to their surprise, Shadestar isn't angry. She seems more amused than anything, a mood Lightpaw has never seen on her. It's... nice.

"You are a bold kitten," she says wryly. She returns the favor, careful of her own strength and size to only flick a small amount of snow into Amberpaw's face. "But you should not start games you will not win."

"Who says I can't?" she challenges. She kicks as much snow as she can into her face, and springs away with a cheeky grin.

"Oh, darling."

"Come on, guys! Help me!"

The apprentices look to each other, the decision clear. On the count of three they throw snow at Shadestar, springing away like Amberpaw. Her amused laugh follows them through the clearing.

"I hope you know what kind of game you have started, my dears."

Cat Name: Poppypaw (Poppywish)
Clan: Tidalclan
Rank: Apprentice

Gender: She-cat
Age: 9 moons

Prompt:
Poppypaw experienced her first festival when she was just a kit, how lucky for her that it was the leaf-bare festival!

Poppykit woke up in a sleepy daze, as kits do, curling into her mother as she heard a commotion going on outside. “Mama… what’s happening…” her mother smiled at her leaning down to lick her forehead and wake her up fully.

“Something special is happening out in camp Poppykit, would you like to go see~?” Her mom purred loudly as she cleaned up her fur.

The idea of something special made her heart race she could barely control herself as she bounded upwards jumping around the den, bumping into her mother and the walls of the nursery. “Can I? Can I? What is it Mama?”

“You’ll see, come on~” Her mother lead her out of the den and into the thick snow. Poppykit starred all around her then up at the full moon shining in the sky. She’d never seen this white stuff before, “This is snow Poppykit, it’s a bit cold, but you’ll warm up in no time.”

The snow covered her paws and crunched under them. She started laughing as she broke into a run in the snow, sliding and crashing through small piles of snow. Then she saw it, the usually boring rock that stood in the middle of the clan was covered with all sorts of shiny rocks and objects. As she stared at the beautiful sight, the rest of the clan began to surround the rock. They all stood side by side singing and chanting songs. They were easy enough for Poppykit to learn and she joyfully joined in singing as loud as she could.

Cat Name: Oceankit

Rank: Kit

Gender: Female
Age: 3 Moons

Prompt:

Oceankit was born to a stray who passed when she was only two moons old, leaving her alone. While struggling for food and water in the forest, she had fallen into the river. Luckily, an Autumnclan warrior, Forestfire, was there to save her. Forestfire brought the kit to Dawnstar and the two decided to keep the kit in Autumnclan. Forestfire named her Oceankit, after her blue eye.

When Oceankit was adopted by Forestfire, she felt a kind of happiness she didn't think was possible. She was no longer alone and she had a new mother to take care of her. The two grew a close bond with each other that was unbreakable. Without Forestfire, Oceankit wouldn't be here right now and for that, she is grateful.

cat name: robin

gender: molly
age: 4 moons

prompt:
robin peered outside the den nervously, shifting from one paw to another. she let out a whimper and flattened her ears - there were so many cats outside! more than she could count...what if they didn't like her?

she was startled from her thoughts when her mother licked the top of her head, smoothing down her fur. "are you ready, little robin?"

shakily, robin shook her head. "mama, do i have go outside?" there was a note of pleading in her squeaky, trembling voice.

her mother smiled and bent down to comfort her daughter. "darling, they already love you. just be yourself."

robin looked outside again. there were several cats chatting by a stump in a circle, smiling. and by a large den set, a group of younger cats laughed loudly as a clump of feathers rose into the air. the counsel members groomed each other lazily in a patch of sunlight nearby, ears arched toward the tenderfoots as they passively surveyed their antics. robin gulped, but the icy grip in her stomach had thawed enough for her to gain courage.

"they like me already?" robin mewed, looking up at her mother for reassurance. the molly replied with a dip of the head, and gently beckoned robin forward with a paw. the little molly stepped forward until she was outside. warm rays of sunlight hit her face, caressing her chilly face.

a chorus of welcoming purrs and mews startled her at first, but as she realized they were from those around her, she relaxed. from all directions, low murmurs of her name came to her ears, and robin smiled. this was her family. they already loved her. all they had to do was meet her.

      Prompt:
        265/300 words
"Waddle, you need to come here honey."

Waddle, a small Little Fire with newly opened eyes mews, bumbling their way over to their mother and purring as they cuddled into her long fur. They mew, maw opening at their mama and purring as she held them closer still. She was always warm, and Waddle never had a complaint when they could be with her. Sometimes Mama was too busy to stay and cuddle - Waddle was a young kit, but she'd never abandoned the life of a Red River [Warrior] in favor of being a parent.

"My little Waddle, I'm sorry Mama hasn't been around much, but I'll be around a lot more now, okay? Egret's giving birth to some kits, so you'll even have some littermates, Little One.." She purrs, giving Waddle's ears a gentle clean, tongue rasping over their fur. Her tail flicks, having had the faintest feeling that Egret might need her to take over for her kits.

They beam, mewling as they look up at her with their mismatched eyes, shimmering with joy and excitement. Waddle smiles, before wiggling, toppling right over onto their Mama's paws, but not minding as they silently laughed. Their body warmed, watching as an autumn leaf fell onto their head, before they gave a gummy smile.

That night, their mother held them close and securely, Waddle cuddled with their new littermates, and Egret resting against their mama. They sincerely, couldn't ask for anything more. Nothing made them happier than time with their mom, and as they grew, this moment stayed in their heart on the coldest days.

Prompt:

285/300 wrote:It was a cold, cold morning.
Something like this was not unusual around this time of year; but there was something to this chill, something that made the wind seem even more bitter, even more snapping.
"Burnetfurrr," Stormkit drew out, screwing her eyes shut in boredom. "I'm cold."
"Stormkit," she sighed, allowing the spotted caliby to burrow further in her lengthy fur. "We all are."
"Yeah, but..."

And she was interrupted by the sudden sound of cats; discussing something she couldn't quite hear, but they were foreign voices; cats that weren't from AsterClan.
"Stormkit!" Burnetfur called, but she was already headed off.

"Owlkit, that's his name?"

The cats were not enemies; only a ginger tabby who came with a mission, bearing a name that was not of a Clan. He told of his since-disappeared mate's wish of having one of their kits come to AsterClan, and he came to fulfill his last wish no matter what.
"Take him," the cat's eyes were misted over in sorrow, but with a determined gaze. "It's all I can ask."
They immediately took Owlkit in, of course; the kit's grandfather, Acorntip, ever so overjoyed to see his and his kit's face once again.

"Yes," Burnetfur purred, "But be careful, you know. He's only around Juni and Dawn's age."
"I will, I will!"

Suddenly it didn't feel so cold anymore, looking back at the sleeping form of the lynx point kitten besides the two aforementioned kits; her heart felt so warm, so fuzzy, knowing she would protect him - and them all - forever.

She padded over to the three, curling up besides them as well as she could; whispering -
"It's alright. I'll protect you all forever and ever. That's my promise."

Cat Name: Amberkit

Gender: she-cat
Age: 10 moons

Prompt:
The wind had whipped itself up into a dervish, blustering in most of the Saltclan cats, out of the cold and into the warmer caves. But not Amberpaw. She sat, waiting patiently even as her fur was blown in entirely the wrong direction.

It didn't matter, for even if the cold licked her skin through her tough fur, she had to keep watch. Today was the day, it had to be.

The sun began to set, bouncing rays of gold and pink off the snow, flecks of light reflecting back on her mottled fur, when suddenly her face lit up brighter than the sky itself. She leapt to her feet, and quick as a flash, she was darting up the slick, icy slope of the cliff. Tears ran down her face as Amberpaw nearly tackled the calico. "You're home!" she cried out, a waver to her voice and a shiver running through her entire body. For the first time since Wrenwhisker had left, she felt the cold, seeping into her bones. And she welcomed it.

"Please, don't leave like that again, Wrenwhisker. Promise me you won't?" Amberpaw begged, nestled deep in the she-cat's fur. "Stay with me, a moon is far too long to be away! Until we can go out together?"

Wrenwhisker's tongue rasped over her sister's ears to comfort her, and a deep purr rang out from deep in her chest. "I promise, Amberpaw. I'll switch off of Traveller's duty, until you become a Warrior. I promise this time. Nothing could separate me from you again. Not even if Starclan themselves pulled me away." she whispered.

Amberpaw's heart soared and she led Wrenwhisker down the cliff's edge, chattering on and on about the training she had been undergoing. And the smile never left her face for a moment.

Prompt:

"I can't thank you enough for everything. If you guys weren't there I think I'd be toast."

It was a wet day, that early winter morning. Even the damp of the soaked fence underneath Jezebelle's paws set a chill in her legs, and her shoulders stiffened at the cold as she crouched to look down. Down at the individuals sitting at the base of the fence.

The leader of the trio quirked a self-assured smirk her way. The she-cat's smug smile, at first a grate on her senses, only sent a flash of heat under Jezebelle's fur now.

"No problem at all, Snowflake. It's the least us 'silly forest cats' could do for such a brave soul." That definitely got her pelt heated, but this time out of embarrassment.

"...Sorry about that, by the way," Jezebelle mumbled, "That was out of line for me."

"No harm at all." The scrappy female at the base of the fence stretched up to be a little closer to Jezebelle, easy as you please. "Small price to pay to make sure you came out safe. Those alley-cats aren't too keen on strangers."

Her fur fluffed up from the sweet admission, and Jezebelle tried to hide a shy smile. "And yet you three were keen on this stranger. Why even stick up for me like that?"

The she-cat's expression remained affable, but her eyes became abruptly serious. "You showed an amazing spirit standing up to those bullies against a helpless kitten you barely knew. A character like that can't be faked."

Jezebelle's nose scrunched at easy praise, and the she-cat's answering laugh made warm happiness blossom in her chest. "I can't thank you enough. You were there to help my little brother."

Jezebelle blinked in surprise.

The scrappy she-cat purred. "My name's Jasminepaw."

"...Jezebelle."

Cat Name: cricketpaw (cricketchirp)
Clan: emberclan
Rank: apprentice

Gender: female
Age: 7 moons

Prompt:(featuring baby brother beebuzz! who doesn't exist, lol)

"Alright, you leave me with no choice. I didn't want to have to do this!" With the power of a thousand bulls, Cricketpaw sped towards Thunderwillow, but the arm barrier he had up that protected her from Brooksnap ascended, leaving her hurtling into the den.
Rolling to a stop at the paws of her mother, she gazed up at Brooksnap's face, realizing that she, thankfully, was definitely alive. She sure did sound like she was dying earlier, though. What had happened? Who hurt her? "Are you okay?!" she asked, her fur all frazzled from the tumble through the soft sand. Abruptly realizing they weren't the only two in the den, Cricketpaw turned her attention towards the five squirming shapes in amazement. When did they get here?
Despite her confusion, her gaze held awe, amazement, and fascination. "What're those?" She whispered, leaning in to breathe gently on the kits clinging to Brooksnap's pale belly. Obviously she knew what kits were, but... "Did those come from you?" Her mouth hung agape in astonishment.
Brooksnap's bubbly laughter erupted from her throat. "They did, Cricketpaw." Her long whiskers twitching, she slowly raised a mitten and pointed towards a gray one. With a tired smile, she looked towards Cricketpaw. "He reminds me of you, when you were a kit. Do you want to name him?" Cricketpaw looked at the dopey face of the small shape. His head was far too big for his ears which were too far apart, and he barely had a tail. How could he possibly remind Brooksnap of her? She couldn't help but laugh, though; he looked too funny, especially the way his ears wiggled... A few moments later she felt herself smiling uncontrollably. His cuteness was overwhelming!
"I love him; he's my favorite. I'm gonna name him... Beekit!"
