writing [500 word limit]: Ribbons of light danced across the darkening sky, as the gods of yesteryears seemed to shimmer their displeasure. Fans were blasting as humans fanned their sweaty figures. Splatters of ice-cream landed ungracefully upon the pebbled roads, which hissed in response.
From afar sat the sun kalon, Oriana. Who grumpily glared at the perturbed Earth; one of her unfortunate victims as she threw her tantrum. She radiated copious amounts of light-rays, that mercilessly washing over anything which stood in its way.
The moon kalon sat patiently, emitting a soothing aura in attempt to appease the agitated atmosphere. Arman’s composure mirrored the opposite of hers; relaxed and gentle, while she sat stiff and ridged. A simple bright smile was able to steadily disintegrate her hard exterior within a second. Her posture relaxed as she burned slightly in embarrassment.
Truth be told, earlier that morning, she had located a particularly luminous star among those peppered around the void galaxy. It belonged to Arman, as she had seen him writing in it before and found herself more interested then ever. She felt bad for prying, but curiosity got the better of her, she pawed the soft blue bag, allowing it to topple in contents around her. Lose sheets had drifted in all directions to which she had hastily placed into a jumbled pile. Among the loose sheets sat a journal, and before she knew it, as she found herself intently unravelling its contents.
One of the pages she had stumbled upon was a letter that was addressed to her. Excitement sparked within her as she eagerly snooped around despite knowing that she shouldn’t. In small neatly printed letters at the corner of the page had three words that caused her to be engulfed by a wave of emotions.
It had further caused her to reminisce a distant memory of a dreamtime story that her mother spoke of. It has described how two people fated to be separated for eternity had found a way to come together. She had convinced herself that it was nothing but gibberish, a fanciful and pretentious story built-up on nothing but false hope. However, as the day progressed show found herself more restless. Annoyed on how the characters in a fairy-tale had met their sweet and chimerical ending, while she had to face the inequitable reality.
She snuck another sneaky glance at Arman, which to any onlookers would come off as an outright stare. They had grown fond of one another, both longing just to spend a single day together after making relentless attempts to close the gap between them. The wallowing distance was unavoidable, taunting them that they were so close yet so far.
She had closed the journal and slipped the bag back onto the gleaming star, her emotions eating away at her. But before she did, she had written the same three words right underneath.
The universe watched in awe as the universe granted her wish, to which this phenomenon was later named the Solar Eclipse.
