This drink was a newer discovery of mine and it's quickly become one of my favorites - despite my love of both tea and coffee - lol.

This is a two part contest! You'll need to design a shine for this kalon, and tell me how long it takes them to order their drink(s)!

I love the creativity of the community and while we're celebrating staff this month, I want to see your great creations too! I'm always inspired by the awesome shines you guys can come up with, so I want you to take part in the final touches of this kalon!
You can use any colors, and the shine can be drawn on the kalon, drawn separately, or described w/ pictures!

For the prompt, you have up to 250 words, and it can be any kind of drink you want, in any time period or AU you want (it doesn't just have to be a modern cafe!). Just tell me about how quick or slow they are when ordering, and why!

Judging will be equal between the prompt and the shine. If I'm really stuck, though, I'll probably use the shine as the tiebreaker!

Prompt:

Kaberoi was thankful for the dim light and muggy air. The people that could stand the ambient of the run-down tavern were sticking to their own business, as he preferred.

If only the bartender would too, he would feel just like at home.

His eyes bore onto the woman that was talking to him, or maybe she wasn't. Kaberoi couldn't tell, flashes before his eyes were obscuring the woman's face and distracting him.

He saw her father's face, her mother's, he could see her grandmothers and her grandfather. Without blinking, her face morphed over and over, shifting from faces of her bloodline, one by one until Kaberoi's heart couldn't take it anymore.

The more and more he saw, the more discouraged he got. But he was the only one to blame, he shouldn't be expecting to find the old face of someone he had met in the family tree of a woman he met in a shady tavern. The odds were so low, and the more years that passed, the least probable was that he would find a descendant of one of his old friend.

"Sir?" The woman touched his arm, snapping him out of his thoughts, "Did you hear me? Are you alright?"

Her soft voice matched her face, though he felt she was forcing it. Most likely, Kaberoi guessed she felt concerned by his prolonged blank stare.

"Yes, of course," His voice came out slow, "Worry not. Could you fetch me a glass of water?"

[epilogue]

"i'll have..... the peppermint mocha! no, no wait.... uh... do you have any sales right now? oh? what are they? hm..... winter berry shake.... hmm.... how about that... no no no.... how about...-"

"ma'am, i'm going to have to ask you to leave."

"what? why?"

"you've been holding up the line for 20 minutes now."

Constantine looks for perfection in his drinks, so it could take hours, to days, to get a drink he absolutely loves, but it's for the best. A Prince needs the best, right? Right...
His favourite kind of drink is called 'Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade'. To prepare such a drink takes farm grown fruits, ones that are grown within the kingdom's radius. But that's not it, they must look just as ideal. Most fruits are picked and shown to the prince himself; and he decides on which ones are used.
The next step in making the perfect drink is looking at how many attempts it takes to make the drink itself. If a drink is brought to the Prince and something seems off, such as colour, fruit placement on the rim, or even how thick the drink may be, it takes quite a bit of time to get it right on the nose.
Though, you make think throwing away 'failed' attempts would be a waste, but in the end, the townsfolk get a cooling drink in the summer. And sometimes, when the perfect drink is chosen, it's not so perfect. Behind the scenes, the drink maker uses fruits not chosen for perfection. It gets tedious after awhile to do such things. Improvise, Adapt, Overcome, am I right?
