MoonFlower's biggest regret so far is how little effort she put into learning how to fight while training to be a full member of her colony. She was uninterested in fighting and spent most of her training on hunting and tracking. While she did spend a little time learning how to fight, she did only the bare minimum, learning the basics and not much else. There were so many other cats in Lilac Peaks, what was the chance that she would really need to fight? She simply thought her time was better spent leaning other, more interesting things.
Nearly four seasons after she became a full Citizen of the colony, she was out on patrol with another young cat, RockSplash. He was even younger than her, just barely a Citizen. They were joking about something their leader had said when MoonFlower scented something off.
"Hold up, RockSplash, do you smell that?" she asked, stopping in her tracks, scenting the air.
As he was scenting for the strange smell, a badger suddenly leaped at the two cats. The two did their best, but as both were quite inexperienced, they were eventually backed into a corner.
"MoonFlower, when I say 'go', run for that opening, okay?" said RockSplash, standing his ground against the vicious animal standing between them and the safety of camp.
Terrified, MoonFlower did as she was told and ran for the camp, hoping to come back with some extra cats as backup. When they returned to where the badger had appeared, it had ran off, leaving RockSplash's still body. Since that day, MoonFlower regrets not learning how to fight better, as she blames herself for his death. If she had been a better fighter, maybe they could have held their own against the animal and maybe she could have prevented his death.
