Instead of telling me about this Ryka, tell me about a local legend that people tell about them. The only catch is you can't actually use the Mothman legend; you gotta make up your own tale.

There is a legend,That on the night of Halloween and Christmas, The death and winter Goddess awakens from her slumber to bring harsh winters, and haunting nights.Some say that she has cursed the lands that she slumbers in with a terrible cruse, It is said that this curse brings death and sickness to the lands. Every night on Halloween she sends ghouls and the cursed out on this night to bring chaos and destruction everywhere they go. No one knows why she does this, But it is said that her lover betrayed her and did the unthinkable. He had murdered her on the night of Halloween,Then buried her body on the night of Christmas....Keeping her from finally resting till December....He was never punished for his actions. And in her rage,she cursed the lands of where she rests, knowing that she will not be able to rest until her revenge is fulfilled.

There lives a legend, of a wayward god, cast down from the skies for a crime so hainus that inorder to hid from the other gods that dare seek him out, he takes that of another form. It is said this god roams the dark forests at night, when the stars are high and the gods are asleep inorder to look up at the sky and at his old kingdom and weep, begging for forgiveness. come mornings light, that sorrow drains into anger, and those who enter the forest in the day, are never heard from again. Taken to the stars by the moon gods wraith.

legend; during the longest night in the winter season, there is rumored to be a creature that will return from it's yearly slumber to cause havoc among those who is misfortune enough to see it even if it was in the corner of your eyes.
the only way to protect yourself from the shadow that roams the dark winter night is to burn a item as a 'sacrifice' to the being, avoiding it from choosing you as their prey.

those who have seen it and miraculously escaped the claws reports that the creature is dragon like and has a lot of fur, red eyes that glow in the night and has generally a visible red aura around it.
