A place to stay in Meld: A tiny card flutters to the ground as you examine the notice board at the edge of town, catching your eye. It's painted a garish hue of pink, with shakily drawn flowers and hearts on it. "Miss Lydia's Bed and Breakfast", you read, furrowing your brow in confusion. When you show up at the location written on the card, you're greeted by the tiniest old woman you've ever seen, who beams up at you with a million-watt smile. "Come in, dearest!" she chirps, her hand closing like a vice around your reluctant wrist. The house is fairly dusty, decorated with furniture and art that hasn't been in fashion for the past 30 years, but Miss Lydia cooks the meanest breakfast you've ever eaten. The cost is steeper than you'd expect, but as you lay under the lacy pink bedspread, you think it might just be worth it. [ 147 / 200 ]

A place to stay in Meld:
Meld may be in Becca, a land of technology, but there are some places where natural gifts can’t be beat- and everyone knows it. That’s why, when it comes to Meld, there’s one place everyone should at least visit.
OldeWorld Inn- placed directly around a beautiful, and large, hot spring. The food there is delicious, and it doesn’t matter who (or what) you are... everyone is welcome. If you are looking for peace, and a place to relax, there’s no place better than OldeWorld Inn. And don’t worry about locating it- in a city of new inventions and science, it sticks out by it’s simple and traditional (not to mention bright red) exterior.

a place to stay in meld:
smoke billowed from the chimney and made its place among the sky until it disappeared like it had never existed to begin with. beneath the chimney lay a cabin so full you could hardly call it a house. a home it was indeed, with a bed for sleeping and kitchen for eating, but what made it special were the family pictures, artifacts, the bumps and scrapes. in fact it was so homely that it made it the talk of meld, for every traveling visitor wanted a place that reminded them of their home to lay their head at the end of a long travel. there were candles above the mantle place and scratches along a door frame where a child once measured their growth. there were smoke stains above the wood-burning stove where the local innkeeper burned stew meant to feed thirty people. there are stories upon stories in this cabin, stories that make any visitor feel at home and safe.

A place to stay in Meld:
The Siren can be found down a narrow alley, hidden far back from the main road. It is a good inn if you hate the noise that comes from taverns, as the innkeeper enforces how loud people can be in the dining room. A word of warning: don't defy the innkeeper. There's a reason why this quiet tavern exists, and the man hates rule-breakers. The shop has no sign, not even a painted front with its name; the only way to recognise this place from the houses besides it is the small carving of a mermaid on the cobblestone before the door. Despite its inconvenient location and the strict keeper, it's quite popular, and is full to bursting at mealtimes. The chef there is highly skilled, and if you ever obtain high-quality meat, there's no one better to ensure it is cooked and seasoned to perfection.

A place to stay in Meld:
Nestled neatly in the heart of Meld is the inn, Crow Feathers. Nothing particularly grand but warm and welcoming. A member of staff is always around to greet guests no matter the time of day. The rooms all have fireplaces and cupboards with extra blankets just in case guests get cold. The main meals are always served piping hot, with snacks readily available if so required. Decorations include small statuettes of various animals and paintings of the landscape around Meld.
Unless I post somewhere, I'm not selling/trading closed species critters.

A place to stay in Meld:
The splintering wooden sign hung from an overhanging tree branch, it read; "Gaulir Inn and Tavern" in faded charcoal lettering. Broad Oak doors, with two torches aligned on either side of a moss-ridden cobble stone path led you to the front door. The bronze knocker was worn from use, and when pounded against the door was opened to reveal a wide chamber, with a set of wooden steps to the left, clearly leading to the inn portion of the building and an open bar in the central space. A book-shelf like dip had been carved into the far wall, and was being used to store various alcoholics and other drinks one could request. The bar stools, worn and flimsy, the floor, cobblestone. A separate seating area, clearly used for dining, was set up in the corner past the stairs. It had a pleasant view of the windows, which were otherwise lacking. The air smelt heavily of pine and lavender soap. The Inn portion itself was nothing grand, a simple bed and bath combo, a singular window and a bed-side dresser that was more-or-less cleaned regularly. It was quaint, homely even, far from luxury. More for the passersby than permanent stay.

A place to stay in Meld:The Lucky Roll inn.It might look like just an ordinary inn from the outside, but when you step inside, the scent of freshly made food and good music will greet you.
This inn has two floors: the first one mainly being used for guests who just come to have a drink or two, while the second floor has rooms you can stay in. They say the rooms are quite clean, and the owner’s hospitality is quite notable.
Speaking of the owner: Findaere “Finn” Castley, the half-elf owner of the inn might come off as someone who brags a bit too much about his luck, but in reality his determination and positivity are part of the things that keep the inn up and running.
His brother, the local bard, Rick, is a regular of the inn. Though he doesn’t work there, he provides the music in the evening! And if you’re lucky enough, you can catch him playing what he calls
his “greatest work so far”.
pls don't kill me, i'm not trying to steal the music ;--;

As the first week of the event draws to a close, I've come to say I'm very happy with the love the staff and I have received so far! I swear if I had more time I would do more <3.
As you wait for the first quest and adopt 003 to be judged, please enjoy some new lore!

These are the most prominent kingdoms, empires, and other groups of the world. The brown is where the groups are too small to be named, and the grey is unknown/uninhabited.
Elenmora
As you might recall, this is where the “Elenmorian” Dragons got their title. Once rich with culture for centuries, the land mysteriously fell into a wasteland- a deep slumber. No one dares venture to that part of the earth, and some even doubt its existence.
When Elenmora (the empire) was at its fullest, their technology was fully reliant on magic. In fact, they used magic before it became completely limited to folk like wizards and sorcerers. The lowest rank in their caste system could even cast a spell or two if they knew the incantations. Therefore, it was speculated that they used creations like golems, enchanted weapons, and perhaps even interdimensional travel. They used a lot of magic runes carved into hard surfaces such as stone, marble or even petrified trees.
Leader: Chaussac Wondergeist (male; drow; last known leader before destruction)
Dorhast Kingdom
Dorhast is where the remains of Elenmorian people migrated to. It’s often very cold and rainy there, though the folk there have gotten accustomed to the weather. Their mountains- particularly the Brimshalls- are always tipped with snow, and are a bit squat compared to other landforms across the ocean. While the land of Dorhast is far separated from the rest of the world, they have made up for it in their use of air tech. Creations like airships made from wood and steel, held aloft by massive magic stones- called Sedironics. This way, their shipments of high-quality textiles can be easily shipped across the globe. Their population consists of mostly dwarves, humans, bugbears, and firbolgs.
Leader: Queen Tritanya II (female; dwarf)
Linen Islands
Linen is where the royalty of Elenmora fled centuries ago. The population is most predominantly regal dragonborn, elves, and gnomes. While a relatively small space, Linen specializes in the production of magical items- as well as the refinement of special ores only found in the surrounding oceans. Some examples include Zasnault (a deep grey metal used in high-class armor and weaponry- easily enchantable- and has a blue tint to it in the moonlight)and Iewhine (a pale green gem with grey "veins"; usually seen implanted in lavish items such as staffs or crowns- very expensive). The Linen Islands are broken up into three regions, which are each is governed by a different leader.
Leader(s): Honai (male; triton; northern leader), Israh Commolie (female; elven; main leader), Vroktoken Von Belle (male; dragonborn; southern leader).
