Nova was the first foal born after the reserves had been sold from government management to private ownership. The government wasn't mismanaging the reserver, no-- it was just so large and so hard to handle at the time and was a huge resource sink.

Nova was chose by the new ownership to be one of the public ambassadors to the species. She is calm and comfortable around people, very domesticated like her parents. Even the shrieking and fast unpredictable movements of kids don't bother the mare. She trusts her handler and is quite content to let people pet her flanks or stroke her ears or rub her pink nose.

The mare's time is split about 1:4 from traveling to staying with her harem of other reserve's ambassador animals including a few more mares and a foal, a few other gazelle and impala species, an elderly okapi, and a family of aardvarks. The public is not allowed to visit the encloser in which the ambassador harem is kept but oftentimes an animal or two is pulled out to educate visitors.

Nova is the first ambassador animal the reserve picked to perform the job-- and she's been killing it from day one!

Luminita is a curious, clever mare. She likes to see new things and explore new places. It doesn't seem like she is often worried about where her wanderings may take her and she has a level-headed way about her. While she enjoys spending time with her harem she is often enough just as happy wandering off on her own, having an independent streak.
Though sufficiently cautious, Luiminita isn't skittish or jumpy, knowing this won't serve her well.
Instead she does her best to be logical when a challenge or threat comes her way.

All she is trying to do is be as compassionate as possible toward the others in her life.
