Prompt: favorite toy? well, farahi doesn't exactly have what could be considered a toy to most dogs. since he was a wee pup, the hound was given a stuffed lion that went home with him from the breeder. the hound carries it around just about everywhere outside of work. whenever farahi goes, the stuffed toy goes with him to this day. its had some rough days of course and has needed stitches plenty of times but he will go frantic if he is without the lion. to some, they think he grew an attachment to it because it smelled of his littermates and mother but to be frank, farahi just loves telling it all his secrets and should someone take it, he fears the lion may tell them all the embarrassing things he has told it.

Under the shadow of a low hanging acacia tree,two hounds lay side by side, watching the distance intently.

"Ok, I can see a few making their rounds. On the count of three, bark as loud as you can."

The walkie talkie crackled with static, a human voice filtering through.

"One."

The human voice took on a inquiring tone.

"Two."

The hounds watched as a human paused and took out his walkie talkie looking at it in confusion. Kanzi grinned.

"Three!"

The clamorous chorus of deafening barks filled silence, Kanzi watched with sublime amusement as the recruit they saw screamed and the walkie talkie was suddenly alive with human calls. She could barely keep it together long enough before she grabbed the walkie talkie and pressed the button with her nose to shut it off.

"Did you see that?!"

"He jumped higher than a leopard!"

"And those calls! Usually we only get a few but that must've been everyone!"

The two hounds erupted into rough laughter as they lay in the dust. "Kanzi you're crazy," her companion finally cooed, giggles escaping their chest and Kanzi nodded.

"Hey gotta keep these humans on their P's and Q's. If we don't how are they gonna handle the journey?" She teased. "The zebra won't stay here forever." [241 Words]

Prompt: Valencio’s favourite toy wasn’t always a toy at all! As a very young pup, he developed a habit of chasing small animals in and around the reserve, particularly squirrels and hyraxes. After a nasty run in with a porcupine, Valencio’s trainer decided it would be best to use a flirt pole - a stick with a rope attached to the end, and a furred toy tied on, easily swung around to mimic prey - to get his energy out. Valencio is often seen sitting outside with his flirt pole, whining at passerby to play...although he still enjoys chasing mice, shrew, and other small rodents, if he's ignored for too long.
