About my entry: My entry is mostly about the very basic skeleton of the character. I decided I mainly wanted to show off how she would fit into my pride. I wanted to show a rough sketch of her character so that I can later develop her further. If I get her, she will be an important member of my pride and I want to keep her interesting and reveal more about her further down the road.
Lion name: Flurris
Nicknames: Flurry
Lion gender: Female
Pride: Eternal snowPride Status: Head huntress & mentor
Age: Young adult
Nature: Calm
Likes: Snow, winter, pheasants, swimming, trust
Dislikes: Rain, ungratefulness, disrespect
Hobbies: Learning new things

Personality: Flurris is usually a very gentle soul. She deeply values
trust, but it is surprisingly challenging to earn it from her.
She takes her jobs very seriously, and absolutely despises it when
people don’t take her jobs, or herself for that matter, seriously.
Flurris loves jokes and general fun, but she also knows when to
get serious. Flurris is determined and many say she is a born leader
but despite this, she has no desire to gain more authority. She is
very independent and even though she is very patient she still gets
frustrated at fellow her pride members sometimes. She is strong
and praised in her skills in hunting. She does not believe in her
strength though and instead claims her success in hunting comes
from her knowledge. She seems to prefer being on her own, not
approaching pride members for casual conversation but does not
mind others talking to her at all, so long as they respect her. She
tends to build up her frustration making her snap at seemingly
snap at small things, to the annoyance of her pride members.
Still, she is very apologetic and forgiving and truly does not mean
to hurt her friends. It’s best not to get on her bad side though,
because when you have genuinely messed up in her eyes the
chances of forgiveness are near zero. The unlucky few who did
get on her bad side usually do not get directly attacked, but
instead will have to face her being generally cold to them, and will
have to deal with her constantly criticizing them. Flurris tends to
stick with what she knows and what she's best at, but sometimes
she also likes to try new things and expand her horizon. Flurris
also loves cubs and is pretty much the honorary cub-sitter of
the pride. She adores cubs, everything about them, from their
innocence to their misbehaviors. It is one of the reasons she
took the job of a mentor as well as lead huntress: to teach the
next generation. She doesn't want to take care of cubs full-time
though, and would much rather train the older ones.
Ambitions: For the most part Flurris has
everything she could ever wish for. She
feels satisfaction from her work and is
friends with most of her pride members.
Still, there is one little thing missing in
her life. Flurris has always wanted a
litter of cubs of her own. She had
helped plenty of moms with their
litters, but she felt like just one time she
wants to do all the work. Raise a cub that
is actually her own, and teach them the
very best she could. The only problem was
that Flurris is always way too busy to care
for a litter. The pride couldn’t miss a hunter
right now and Flurris as the head huntress was
very much irreplaceable for the pride. Still,
she cherishes the thought that one day she
can raise cubs of her own. Right
now, however, she feels like it is more of
a distant dream than a possibility, and isn’t
counting on it happening anytime soon.
While it isn't much of a personal goal
Flurris also hopes to see her pride grow.
Being the first member to join the pride,
she has seen the pride grown from the
ground up. She hopes the pride will
grow, not just in numbers but also in
strength. Flurris is always excited to
greet a new addition to the pride,
and will gladly help them out some.

Backstory: Flurris wasn’t born in a pride. When she was little, it had always been just her and her mom. But when she saw a pride of lions for the first time, they looked so strong and regel that Flurris felt more amazed and excited than she had ever felt before. She went back to her mom, excited to tell her about her findings but her mom had just gently laughed at her, telling her prides were for
lions, not for snow leopards. Still, little Flurris just huffed at her mom, now determined to prove her wrong.
Eventually, she grew older, and soon it had been time for her to say goodbye to her mother and to explore the world on her own. While she felt sad not being near her mom anymore she had also felt so excited. It had been a while since she had seen lions, would she be able to find them again?
The first pride she had found didn’t like her much though. The still young leopard had seen them and instantly leaped forward. The lions, thinking she was trying to attack, roared at her and started chasing her down. She managed to escape just in time but for a while, her dreams were crushed.
That doesn’t mean she didn’t try again. Figuring maybe a less... direct approach would help she found a pride, one that looked much more friendly than the last, and simply made sure they saw her nearby a few times. Maybe if they know she was there’s they’d approach her? Well, approach her they did. But certainly not with requests to join the pride. The lions found her as she was hunting, and charged at her snarling. They must’ve thought she was trying to take their territory.
After this, Flurris spent a few years on her own. She grew a lot stronger, and smarter, during this time. She wasn’t as determined to join the lions as she used to be, having concluded that they were too different for her to understand. That didn’t stop her from trying though, despite most attempts being unsuccessful.
That changed when she met a lion though. Not one with a pride, just a single lion. This fact had confused Flurris greatly, as she had only ever seen lions in prides. This lion was a fiery red which blended in beautifully with the autumn forest he lived in. Flurris knew she had seen her before, but he never seemed interested in attacking her, instead just smiling when he saw her.
The first time they had actually met was while Flurris was hunting. Chasing some prey she had
not seen the red lion laying in a small clearing, enjoying the sun. Eyes on her prey, she bounded to him- and promptly fell over him, smashing face-first in the ground.
When she stood up again, the lion looked at her confused. It took him a while to collect his though, but when he did he gently asked her “Are you okay? That seemed like a nasty fall.” Flurris nodded, slightly embarrassed by her screw-up. The red lion laughed at her, although not mockingly, and then continued “Well, the name is Boyle. I’ve seen you around, anything I can help you with?” She huffed at the lion, Boyle, before speaking up “Oh well, I have been looking for a pride to join for a while” Boyle looked at her with an immeasurable amount of confusion as she continues “But it seems that you don’t have one.” The lion looked down at his feet “Well, I mean, I am working on it. It’s just me for now, but I’m sure more will join eventually.” The leopard tilted her head before suddenly realizing that this was probably how most prides started out, obviously. She cleared her throat “Ah well, I might not be a lion but I’d be happy to join you.” Nothing could prepare her for the beaming smile Boyle sent her way or the bear hug that followed.
It took her a while to get used to pride life. With just Boyle, it had been easy, but when more lions started joining she found some... challenges. Glancing over at Aeos*, she sighed. “I told you, Flurris if you keep wearing that scarf you’re gonna tear it. And look at us now.” He was stitching the scarf back together. Where he had found the materials to do so, Flurris did not know. Nor did she care to know. Currently, she was the pride’s only designated hunter. And she felt fine in that position. Aeos was the Archivist, keeping track of whatever happened to the pride, and Boyle was... Well, Boyle was their leader, stepping up wherever necessary.
When the pride expanded, even more, she got a promotion, so to say. Since her hunting skills surpassed everyone else’s, she had been appointed head huntress. She was in charge of making sure everyone was fed and, most importantly, that they didn’t over hunt the forest so that future generations could also eat. There was only one other huntress now, but still, Flurris felt huge amounts of satisfaction from her job.
It was when the first cubs came to the pride she realized she had another job she wanted. Watching the cubs play and grow every day, she realized someone would have to teach them at least the very basics of hunting skills. Taking it to Boyle, he had simply shrugged and told her “I mean, obviously you’re right. You hunting best though. So whoever you see fit to train them can do it. Or you can take the responsibility yourself, of course.” Her chest filled with pride, not just at being told she was the best hunter but also at the notion that Boyle would trust her with such a decision. She pondered over it for a while eventually deciding that she best do it herself. Training the older cubs and hunting with the pride Flurris one day realized she couldn’t have been happier.
Boyle: Flurris adores her leader. Even though Boyle really is a clumsy and often has a way too optimistic view of the world. Still, Flurris knows Boyle tried his best to improve not only himself but also his leadership, which she appreciates immensely. Their relationship is one that has a heavy emphasis on mutual trust, as this is what they both value the most. Flurris isn't afraid of her leader, and honestly considers Boyle more of a friend than a figure of authority. Flurris isn't afraid to speak up and show defiance to Boyle, and while this sometimes annoys the other Boyle also knows that Flurris means well and that her words do have thought and often value behind them. Boyle and Flurris have the occasional spat between them but more often than not they both realize that either the other is right or that the whole thing was pointless right from the start. Flurris isn't quick to defend Boyle since more often than not it's really his own fault that people are upset with him, but if there were ever to be real danger Flurris would defend her leader on a whim. Flurris appreciates Boyle as a friend but is not interested in a romantic relationship with him.

Aeos*: Flurris is isn't too close to Aeos. She admires his determination and his ability to somehow beat all odds over and over again. Flurris isn't entirely sure about Aeos though. His heart seems to be in the right place but Flurris often finds the lion to be frustrated and isn't sure with what. Flurris has done many attempts to talk with him and figure out what was bothering him but the lion usually swats her away. Flurris considers Aeos a friend, but not a close one. She hopes to get closer to him, to find out what is wrong and to help him. Still, she feels he doesn't want her closer right now and isn't one to push herself onto others. She enjoys the time they
dospend together, which is usually spent just by casual, light chitchat. Flurris often lends him a paw but doesn't understand why the lion sometimes lashes out at her for it.
Unbeknownst to Flurris, she often coddles the blind lion too much. Aeos is convinced Flurris sees him as weak, and he hates that. He wants to show her how capable he is of handling his own but hasn't seen an opportunity to do so yet.
Nefaris**: Flurris isn't sure what to think of Nefaris. Something seems... Off about the leopard. Flurris isn't one to judge him for his species, not being a lion herself. Still, Flurris feels like there is something that Nefaris isn't telling them. Flurris feels terrible for judging him this way but just can't shake the feeling. Nefaris tends to not socialize with her much, possibly even avoiding her, and Flurris does not like it. Flurris doesn't believe his honorable appearance. The more she talks to him, the more shift and suspicious he gets. Flurris is yet to find out anything about him. Boyle tells her not to worry about it. She knows fully well how naive her leader can be tough. She isn't about to purposefully go against her leader and best friend and yet she can't stop herself from trying to find out the truth about this leopard. After all, she values the safety of her pride above everything else.

* I do not officially own this lion yet. I have his personality and part of his backstory planned out, and I am just waiting for a lion to adopt so that he can officially be part of my pride.
** Nefaris is my entry for
#300. I do not own them right now. Since I am trying out for them both, it seemed interesting to describe their relationship if they were to end up in my pride. I am not claiming them as my own, nor am I claiming they are part of my pride.
