"This? This marks me as a great warrior." Redheart puffs out his chest, the fur of his mane bristling in pride as he asserts himself. "In a past life, these were stains of red, stuck to my fur in the battle that took my old life away. fallen foes and a prize of my skill- so powerful that they followed me into this life." he takes a heroic stance and tosses his head before rescinding that with a goofy toothy smile "Don't let that scare you though. I might have been a great soldier in my day, but in this life...well, frankly, I can't fight a thing. So you're safe- promise."

Agni's ear flicked briefly before she answered. "My markings? I think they're useful. When me and Loki go hunting, my bright red tail catches the attention of larger prey. They investigate, leading them into a trap. So i guess im like a red herring!" The lioness said cheerfully, her fluffed mane shifting about. " and the cubs like to play with it too. I don't mind, its fun! but other then that, i think they're beautiful. I don't know many others with such bright fur, and i feel lucky to have such a beautiful coat. "

Red Markings: Karminrot had always been a bit more docile than one would expect him to be. Even as a cub, he had been a gentle and soft-hearted individual, almost weak-willed at times. This always served to surprise others. Why would someone such as him, large and imposing, be so... flighty? Of course, many would ask about his markings. Surely he was putting up some sort of facade. This had to be a game he was playing, a diversion, a way to get his opponents to undermine him so that he could ultimately come on top. But it was not. Karminrot looked upon his red markings with shame and disgust. It reminded him of blood, of gore, of violence. It made it look as though his fur was permanently stained with the blood of others. He despised it. Many a time would he attempt to cover it up, or desperately wipe it away, only to be reminded that it was a part of him forever. Others who didn't know him believed it to be something he should be proud of, to live by. But he could never understand why others were so eager on living a life built on bloodshed. [198/200]

Reharli hasn't ever thought very hard about his appearance. He's usually too busy just being in the moment (and wasting time playing like he was still a cub) to ever stop and ask many questions himself. Someone recently pointed out his distinctive red markings to him and asked him if it was a family trait. This got him thinking. Only then did Reharli actually stop and think about his markings. After a while of staring into nothing (likely being lost in his own thoughts) Reharli replied to the lion asking the question.

"I suppose i never thought about it, but it was a trait my parents celebrated when i was born. I believe my great grandfather also had similar makings, or so i've been told. I didn't think it was very important, but perhaps i was wrong! If you ask me though i think it just makes me look a little like a bird."

After his reply he returned to his own little world, continuing to forage and search for new opportunities to explore. It was as if he had completely forgotten thaf the other lion was still there.

"I know not if it truly has a connection," Ryzen began, the red tip of his tail flicking once behind him. "But I wasn't born with... all of this red. It was only when I came to understand, and even use my... powers, that my fur began to... change. Perhaps it was dyed this color, for feeling the hurt felt by those suffering through tragedy. I don't actually mind it, though. I suppose it just looks like I am in some way related to Nero now." He chuckled once there, at his own attempt at a joke. "Though I do wonder if, one day, my entire coat will be dyed red. For now, though, it just means that I am doing well and helping others."

Ryzen has a few abilities. Primarily, he is able to sense when a tragedy of some nature is about to strike. Additionally, he is quite perceptive to the pain of others and is actually capable of easing another's pain by taking it onto himself. By taking, and feeling their pain in their place, he is able to ease the suffering of others. And his red grows stronger as his powers do.
