Reprimand:Yuza, having already finished her day's work, was sitting and chatting with her friends. At the moment, they were discussing the latest apprentice to graduate to a true Gatherer: Icumu. He had finished his training, yet frequently got reprimanded for doing minimal work.
As if one cue, Icumu came padding by, seemingly empty-pawed.
That can't be right."Icumu!" Yuza called. "Can you come here?"
The young male sloped over, an exasperated expression on his face. "What is it?" Icumu grumbled.
"Where's your basket?"
"Lost it." Icumu shrugged.
"And what about the herbs you were sent to gather?"
Icumu groaned. "I didn't even wanna
do anything today. Why can't the Healers go get their own herbs?" Saying such a thing in any other role would have earned him quite the punishment, but that was not the game Yuza, or any other Gatherer, played.
Yuza rose to her paws. "Follow me."

"Where are you taking me?" Icumu demanded.
Yuza only smiled. "You'll see."
Finally, they reached one of the Healer's dens. She gestured for Icumu to go in.
Inside, the den was large yet crowded. Sick lions were crowded together, tended to by two blue-grey lions. "Earwyn." Yuza called softly, catching the attention of the eldest. He finished applying a poultice to a wounded lion, then quickly made his way over.
"It's good to see you, Yuza." The blue lion murmured. "Were you able to find the herbs?"
Yuza frowned. "No, I'm afraid not." She looked over at Icumu, who was staring at the scene with wide eyes. "Do you have enough to last you tonight?"
Just then, a lion in the corner began to cough loud, wheezing coughs. The youngest medic scurried over to them. Earwyn sighed. "If we stretch it. But, Yuza, almost every lion here is sick, dying. I would go myself, but-"
"I understand." Yuza interrupted. "We'll have it by tomorrow. Good luck, Earwyn." And with that, the two Gatherers departed. They walked in silence for half to the walk back, before Yuza finally spoke.
"Do
you understand, Icumu?"
"I...I do. It won't happen again."
