A Cinderella Story
Our story begins on a dark, stormy night inside the castle of a princess named Ella. The young woman searched the castle long and hard for something, anything she could wear to the royal ball. To her dismay, she was only able to find a simple gown that had been left behind by her mother and a raggedy old pair of shoes. Ella dressed herself up in the outfit and made her way out of the castle.
She tiptoed down the stairs, hoping to avoid alerting her stepmother and sisters of her plans for the night. Before she could do anything, she fell down. As she tumbled down the long staircase, the old dress began to rip, its fabric in complete tatters by the time she picked herself up at the bottom. Ella looked up toward where she was pushed, her expression twisting into a look of absolute disgust as she saw the outline of her stepmother. She felt she had no choice but to run out of the castle, her eyes wet with tears as they streamed down her face. The princess continued running, her legs taking her to a small garden shed that sat at the edge of the property. She collapsed onto a low bench just inside the building and continued to cry, her hands cupping her face as the tears continued to fall.
Just moments after she sat down, a strange figure appeared in the corner of the room. Her eyes widened at the peculiar sight, and even more so when a bright light came from the window and lit up the unfamiliar woman. She was of short stature, with a head of full, white hair that reached past her shoulders. It was her fairy godmother. The older woman reached her hands out and touched Ella's shoulders.
"My dear child, are you not going to the ball?" asked the fairy godmother.
"I was going, but I fell, and the only dress I have is in complete shreds," said Ella, tears still streaming down her cheeks.
"Don't worry, my child, that is why I'm here. We are going to fix this," said the fairy godmother.
"Really?" asked Ella, wiping the tears that had been cascading down her cheeks.
"Yes, come on, get up, and let's get you ready for the ball," said the fairy godmother.
Ella's excitement began to disappear as she realized there was no way she could get to the ball. Her stepmother already left in the carriage with her sisters, leaving her no mode of transportation for the night.
"Fairy godmother, how am I going to get there?" asked Ella in a concerned voice.
"My dear daughter, why are you worried? I'm here is to help you."
The fairy godmother let out a loud "Aha!" and lunged toward a small pumpkin in the edge of the room, the corners of her lips turning up in a proud smile.
"See! this will be perfect."
Ella watched with excitement as her fairy godmother set the pumpkin down, but it was shortlived. Her eyes widened as the older woman broke into a fit of sneezing, her wand expelling magic with each exhale of breath. It all happened so fast. The small pumpkin they picked began transforming, but not into a carriage as they thought it would. The pumpkin grew larger, its vines mutating into long, mangled limbs, and its face taking on a sinister smile as sharp teeth protruded from its mouth. Ella let out a shrill scream and took a significant step backward, her eyes never leaving the ugly monster as it lumbered toward her.
The fairy godmother was bewildered by the monster she had created. She tried to use her wand to turn it into a carriage, but she couldn't. Her wand was no longer able to perform magic. The monster pumpkin was moving closer and closer to where they were standing. Tears cascaded down Ella's face as fear and sorrow gripped her heart. The monster pumpkin stretched out its arms and grabbed hold of Ella. She let out another high pitched scream as the vines wrapped around her, slowly bring her to the point of suffocation. The princess could hardly breathe as she called out to the fairy godmother, hoping the older woman could do something to free her from the clutches of the monster. But when she looked over at where the woman had once been standing, there was no one to be found. She had been abandoned, left alone to deal with something she didn't even want in the first place.
As the creature continued to suffocate her, Ella could do nothing but gasp for air, unable to do much else with the strong vines confining her. It didn't take long for the young princess to perish; the only evidence of her murder being the dark purple marks that now adorned her neck. With his task completed, the pumpkin monster crawled out of the shed. He made his way into the castle, hoping to find his next target and begin the murderous cycle all over again.

Bás Teachtaire is a ghost, but she doesn't realize that. She's spent her undead years afraid of ghosts chasing after her and believing that she's haunted when in reality she's seeing reflections of herself. She runs after the living and cries for help. None of them wishes to do anything but leave.
Pounding heart, pounding feet. I'm dizzy, but I can't stop running. This is a chance at freedom.
"You have to help me," I wail. "Please, help me!"
The other person runs screaming, and I'm left alone. Again.
Although... not completely alone.
I whip my head this way and that, frantically searching for the ghost that was chasing after me. Wisps of black appear in the corners of my vision, and I scream. "Where are you?! Please, show yourself! Don't do this!!" The other presence doesn't show for a moment, and I'm in the dark wondering anxiously. Suddenly a faint silhouette against the treeline appears again, flickering softly with purple skin and black eyes. It began taking small steps towards me before picking up its pace and breaking into a sprint.
Holding my head in my hands and shaking, I continue to run through the forest. "Don't hurt me! Don't kill me!!" I had almost gotten away, I thought I was almost free.
I pause, breathless for a moment until I spot a cabin. Running up, I pound on the wooden door and wail again. The people inside shriek and rummage around for light, wanting to see what's outside. "Help me! Help me, please!!" A dimmed flashlight points my way, and the people shout again. A child cries, and a parent shushes them.
"Go away!" a voice comes from inside, and the curtains shut quickly.
Shaken up from these words, I cross my arms tightly together and claw at my forearms. "Please," I cry. Moving to the window, I scratch the glass and create long gouges. Bits of glass fall from the cracks and rain down on the porch I stand on. I glance down and see the black wisps again, clouding around my feet. The ghost has followed me, I can't escape it. My hope slowly ebbs away again.
"Noooooo, nooooooooooooo!" I wail and stumble backward, tripping over my own self in fear. Cold air buffets against my fur and I know that it's catching up to me. "Please, no!!"
Flinging myself into the forest again, I sob openly. "Why, why?!" In my hurry of an escape, I trip over a root. I tumble down a hill, pieces of leaves catching in my hair. Surrendering, I collapse on the ground and weep. A wolf approaches me slowly before snarling and backing away as fast as it came. Even animals can find no way to help. I dig my hands into the mud below and clench them into fists, gritting my teeth painfully. The fallen leaves catch the wind and twirl around me as if taunting me for my inability. My tears burn as they trail down my cheeks, and I wipe them hastily away.
Everyone is so afraid, just like me. No one will help me.
Clenching my eyes shut, I assure myself that this is just a dream and force myself to fall asleep. It's a cruel dream, and I'll wake up in the morning. I'll be perfectly fine tomorrow, and this ghost will be gone. I'll be free.
I wake up when what seems like moments later, and I'm back where I started again. The black wisps curl around my arms.
A bloodcurdling scream escapes my throat.

spooky story:
long ago, the land was divided into fourths, a land for each of the ancient queens who had settled it. Each of these queens respected their lands and obeyed the laws written to ensure peace. all of course, except for one. the heir of queens, the fourth, she wore the beauty of their faces. but the image she presented was a facade of great depth. bearing the name vesperia, of the meaning evening star, she was every bit as beautiful and graceful as her name suggested. however the length of her facade could only stretch so far, and the fourth queen held great envy towards her fellow queens. most particularly the second, nilimina, whose beauty and skill with magic was unparalleled. this envy grew so intense, that vesperia was drawn to the darker forms of charm casting, in order to satisfy her insatiable greed and desire for superiority.
rose of darkest crimson,
a drop of envious blood,
a tear of unparalleled fear,
and a vessel of uncertainty.
vesperia, with the intentions of casting a charm to eliminate the second queen and take her power for her own, lured nilimina into a trap.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXnilimina speech- █ vesperia speech - █
The towers shuttered in a most inhospitable manner, one would think vesperia didn't want anyone coming over. Then again, nilimina had yet to see anyone really here. For someone named after an eveningstar, and graced with the beauty and charm of one, you would assume they'd have the crowds amassed at their command. Yet, not vesperia. Vesperia was more brooding than beauty when in the privacy her home provided. It's shadowy hallways concealing whatever lay hidden within it's depths. It was far from the well-lit castles nilimina was used to back in her kingdom. Nilimina traveled alone, floating near-wraith like across the ground, and quite eager to leave vesperia's dreadfully drab home. She had yet to find vesperia, and now called her name with an increasing urgency, as the shadows seemed to rip at her clothing.
"Vesperia?" her pitched voice echoed across the stone chamber halls. A sigh as no reply came nilimina continued along until something tugged at her dress. Which invoked a squeal from nilimina turning to face whatever dare attack a queen. Only to find a dusty candelabra it's design elegant, yet as ancient as time itself. With a sharp puff of relief, nilimina unhooked her dress from the candle and began her trek down the hall once more.
"Vesperia? Vesperia please, this is getting quite old." nilimina once again echoed down the hallway, losing impatience with the youngest queen. Shadows darted at the corners of nilimina's vision, spurring her to tuck her arms closer to her body and wish vesperia would arrive sooner. Who was late to their own home? Certainly not nilimina, especially when you had been summoned. Vesperia had requested she come, and yet here she stood in some dusty forgotten chamber of vesperia's castle being chased by shadows that seem to watch her every footfall.
then, rapid footsteps, as if someone was running. echoed down the hallway behind her. Under the impression it was vesperia, nilimina let out a gasp and turned ready to snap at the younger queen for being late. Only to find a shadowy figure, it's eyes expressionless and jaws agape with slobbering infectious teeth. It made a noise unlike any creature nilimina had ever heard, and every hair rose on her body.
run.
it scrabbled down the hallway, it's maw bared in a vicious snarl. Nilimina fled rapidly, a scream echoing off the walls, the terror in the air palpable. They tore through court yard after hallway nilimina beginning to tire, and the beast gaining with every passing second. no matter how hard nilimina tried, she couldn't find the exit.
exhaustion weighed heavy on her now, and the beast had backed her into a corner.
A horrified scream escaped nilimina as the beast bore down on her mercilessly.
the second queen had no chance against the beast vesperia had created to exact her vengance. Once the beast was finished, vesperia recieved all ounces of magic and beauty that nilimina might once have had. they say you can still hear her screams echoing off he walls of vesperia's castle. if you listen close enough.

spooky story:
"I Discovered Hell"
By Eyliene
--------I witnessed hell, firsthand. At least I think I did, I'm not supposed to talk about it, but since you asked and I'm dying to tell someone, let me explain. I used to live in a large apartment complex, you know the poor kind where there's a community laundry room and you have to watch your clothes so they aren't stolen? Our apartment complex had a little store with some cool stuff like your standard snacks and beverages, bowls, cutlery, plates, and what have you, each one for only a dollar. My favorite thing from there were these little red cherry pops that just contort your face when you chomp on them because of how sour they are. They were made on sight in the owner's condo, I think his kids were making them for a profit but they didn't sell that well so I hope they found a new plan. There were 3 floors to each complex, from A-Z with 18 rooms to each floor. I lived on the second floor in complex A, unit 3. I had a lovely view of a meadow, kids would play there during the day- sometimes even an artist would come out and draw something. Things were nice there, we didn't have a community pool so I never heard the neighborhood screaming during the nighttime, it was a calm, safe place, at least it was until the dream happened.
--------The dream was almost like a poem, something you might read from the beloved Walter Whitman. My body began to hurt as it happened, I couldn't understand what was going on though I knew it was a dream- or rather a nightmare. It started like this...
"When entering hell, you will first fall for what feels like forever,
you won't land until you least expect it.
Miles go by, and by, and by, when suddenly,
your body flattens and stretches.
The end isn't near yet,
We'll twist the room your fat has collected till each wall is a reflection of you wretches.
Wipe that pitiful look off your face!
Your tears are going to cause you to drown.
The sea fills this prison to the brim,
A fate like this sure is grim.
We'll torture you until you become a new
But it's not us that's doing this,
It's you."
--------Toward the end of the dream, I was watching my worst enemy fill the tank of tears. I felt like I was in some kind of strange aquarium where the ugliest face was the main attraction. I tread up stone stairs, which led me to a small crawl space. After crawling for what felt like hours in the dream world, I saw a twinkling light. I began to crawl out, I was under my bed. My room looked as it had been lit with candle light, but it was a lamp that was on. My door had a window on it, I peered through to see a school. "Why is my room in a school?" I wondered. I decided to check it out, others knew me and played the part as my friends. This school was strict they explained, "Every night we must pray to explore the other world."
--------They brought me to my room, right where I crawled out from the told me to sit. I was too frightened, I didn't want to do that! There were a group of 8, 6 went to the sides of my bed and 2 to the front. They got under the blanket, on the floor by the bed and began to pray. It was the most obscure thing I ever saw, and they were using my bed! A new friend came and turned me around, "It's okay if you don't want to go this time." She said, I looked back to my bed where the group had been praying, they all vanished, "I'll help you to bed- don't worry. You're safe when you're in bed." They concluded. This made me feel safer, so after being put to bed I managed to fall asleep soon after.
--------When I woke up my room was dark. All I could think about was what I just dreamt about, why was it so vivid? What did it mean? Is this the universes way of telling me to stay on my best behavior? In any case, I always make a point to treat others with the upmost compassion. Does anyone have any idea what it could mean? Perhaps it's my weaknesses that brought me there, but I've never done another dirty. I don't want to go back, I don't want to sleep again. All I want is to have closure, Hell is not a place for someone like me... But... What is Heaven?
