Prompt: as the doorbell rang and another round of trick or treaters came by hyacinth cheerfully opened the door, taking in the young pups before him and their costumes. his eyes twinkled at the sight of a pirate, and a fairy, and a skeleton. "what wonderful costumes!" he said, reaching for the bowl sitting on a table by the front door. from that bowl he gave the pups the last bit of candy he had. closing the door as the tick or treaters left a disgruntled look coming to his face as he realized the bowl was now empty. what would he hand out to trick or treaters now? there was still an hour left for trick or treating and surely nearby stores wouldn't have any candy in stock. placing the bowl down hyacinth started around his house, on a mission find any candy he may have misplaced or forgotten to put in the bowl. high and low he looked, opening cabinets and closets, rummaging through shelves and the refrigerator. nothing, he simply didn't buy enough candy. it also didn't help that he delved out panfuls to each trick or treater. as he stood in the foyer frowning he figured he should shut off the lights outside and put up a sign that he had no more candy. he didn't want to do it, but he had no other choice. looking around for a piece of paper and a pen hyacinth bumped into a table, knocking over a vase of flowers. quickly catching the vase he set it atop the table once more, going to pick up the flowers and replace them. that's when the doorbell rang again, and an idea sparked in the dogs mind. rounding up the flowers he hurried to the door, opening it up. looking to the trick or treaters he praised their costumes and offered a flower to each of them, a smile on his face as the pups took the flowers, some adding them to their fur or costumes. for the rest of the night hyacinth handed out an assortment of flowers to the trick or treaters.
