Favorite Halloween activity

Matata loves scaring other lions, whether it's simple things like jumping out from the shadows or more elaborate pranks that he spends a long time on.
He seems to feed off of the fear and screams he gets from lions who walk into his traps and he absolutely loves seeing their fright and getting close up looks at their reactions.
It's the one time he feels like he can really indulge in mischief and enjoy himself doing it. Of course, he never does anything too bad. Well, according to him anyway.
That year he dressed up as a water monster to scare the cubs their mothers were pretty annoyed with him for a while after when the cubs kept them all up with their being afraid to sleep and nightmares.
To be fair, he didn't really mean to scare them that bad. As a cub he always loved scary stories. But this new generation is a whole other thing, he thinks.
So this time he might share his stories more carefully. Might, mind you. There is no guarantee because he does dearly love seeing all the cubs quake!

Favorite Halloween activity: During the season and as part of being the king of Pekee Pamoja, Jabarl oversees the coming of age ceremony. This is probably his favorite activity. He gets to observe the cubs and give them rank to the pride which brings him great joy. While this may be a celebration he holds dear, he does have another activity specific for Halloween that he enjoys almost as much. Every year on the night of Halloween to start off the festivities, the pride gathers to tell stories. The first story of the night is always the same: The Tale of Jasiri the Brave. The tale recalls a lion of legend who risked his life to save a cub from a pack of undead hyenas. Was it true? Who knows. Maybe. But as king, Jabarl gets to share the story. To see the cubs look on in wonder and excitement- perhaps a little frightened or worried at some parts- always made him smile.

Favorite Halloween activity
Kuruk loves nothing more than sitting down with his friends and carving coconuts (For gourds cannot grow in the desert). He loves sharing the occasionally messy activity with his friends; from drinking the sweet juice of the coconuts, to competing to see who can carve the most intricate pattern or most ghoulish face, this loveable fluffball simply can't think of a better watch to spend his autumn nights. His favorite part about coconut carving happens to take place on the night of Halloween. Before the festivals begin, the coconuts he, his friends, and other lions have carved are arranged in the center of camp, then lit aglow by the Magi. Nothing fills Kuruk with the same sense of pride and satisfaction was watching his pridemates marvel over his handiwork each year.
