It's been a while, so here's a free adopt for y'all! This chyro possesses the rare CHIMERA mutation, giving them their distinctive mottled coat as a result of having two distinct genotypes, fused as embryos into a single chyro phenotype. They also have HETEROCHROMIA as a result of their chimerism.

When bred, only one of their genotypes will be used.
For this chyro, I would like to learn about their relationship with their handler (1000 word limit)! This can be how they met, how they get along, etc.! You may also include an optional extra of 400 words or 1 piece of art.

Relationship with handler: Kaigan was anything but pleased to be tamed by Twig when they first met. Sure, Twig may have technically tracked him down and lured him in with treats, and sure he may have looped the training harness around him when Kaigan wasn't paying attention, but that doesn't mean Twig deserved any respect. He was an amateur handler at best, with only one lazy Chyro to his name. Kaigan knew he was a powerful Chryo, having intimidated plenty of past handlers into releasing him back for being too feral. It was only a matter of time before this handler gave up dealing with nearly having his fingers taken off every feeding time and got rid of him. Twig relied on sneaking about to capture him, his own Chryo not being powerful enough to risk proving their strength honorably through combat. A weasley handler like that would surely lose patience within a week or two and give up.
Kaigan did not anticipate the weeks to turn to months as the handler kept trying to properly tame him. Despite the growling and threatening snapping of jaws, every day Twig would come out to his fenced in area of the forest with a timid smile. He'd talk to Kaigan as he delivered fresh meat and supplemental fruit, chattering about what was happening in town or the weather. While it annoyed Kaigan at first, he began to grow used to the chatter as he ate, and stopped bothering to growl at Twig as he sat leaned against the fence to talk. Kaigan still felt little to no respect for the nervous wreck of a handler, who would spook at the sound of Kaigan's teeth snapping together. The feint bites were primarily a warning to keep the handler to keep his distance, not usually an actual attempt to cause harm. Twig was nervous enough that an actual attack wasn't needed to keep him away. Twig may be holding out for longer than was anticipated, but this would surely end soon enough and he would return to his solitary life.
It was a raining dreary morning when Twig came to pour the container of food onto his designated spot. They had fallen into an easy routine, Twig pours the food, Kaigan snaps at him to get him to hurry up, then Twig sits to the side and talks while Kaigan eats. Kaigan went to snap a few inches from Twig's arm, to remind him he wasn't tame. The muddy ground gave Twig little footing though, and he slipped in shock. Kaigan's teeth latched around Twig's arm, much to the surprise of both. Kaigan's eye's met with Twig's, who was using all his strength to hold his tears and yelling back. Too shocked to move on his own, Kaigan watched as Twig gently grabbed his jaw and removed him from his arm. No anger left Twig as he checked over the injury, breathing a sigh of relief that it wasn't that bad. The yelling Kaigan was expecting never came as Twig finished pouring the food over. "I'm going to go deal with this first, then I'll come back to chat with you." Twig murmured, heading back to his house.
Kaigan blinked, still not back to himself yet. Despite the obvious pain Twig was in caused by Kaigan, he held back any malice, trying to not lose what progress they had made. Kaigan waited for Twig to return curiously, thinking that maybe the handler he despised for his weakness was strong in ways he hadn't noticed before. Perhaps, being tamed by Twig wasn't all that bad.

All of their words and accusations made Atticus' head spin as he made his way out into the forest. He was new to this realm and this world, but had learned much over the past year, and was finally ready to tame his first Chryo; and, in typical Atticus fashion, he'd fallen in love with the so called "night demon" that lurked out in the forest. Of course, this caused a lot of stir in the village, as this Chryo was an ill omen that had been terrorizing livestock at night. He'd never attacked or hurt anyone, though, and no one had even tried to befriend him... Atticus decided very quickly that regardless of the risk, he was going to see what happened. So he set out at dusk to find this elusive creature and bring him home.

Taking risks was not often in his personality, but here he was deep in the dark forest, bag full of food and treats, hunting down a beast that was actually big enough to kill him. His parents would be flabbergasted that he was doing something so silly, but that's why he was here and his parents weren't. He needed to grow up on his own, away from the coddling and the constant "it's dangerous!" lecture. The young Kalon would definitely admit, though, that these woods were hella creepy at night. He swore that he kept seeing lights in green and orange lurking in the shadows; whether they were spirit orbs or someone with technology, that he didn't know, and didn't particularly want to find out. Hours passed with no sign of the creature, and he decided that it was time to give up before he got lost. He would resume his search tomorrow night. When he turned around though, the sight that met him caused the poor young Kalon to jump back in fear, ultimately sending him tumbling to the ground.

Within a foot of him, the Chryo he'd been looking for was standing there expectantly, heterochromatic eyes focused and sharp. He could smell the food the Kalon had, but with perfect manners just stood there waiting to be fed. After the initial shock and fear of being attacked had passed, Atticus took a good look at the beast; he was absolutely stunning, with two contrasting coat colors /and/ patterns, mottled across his coat like clouds. His eyes were extremely intelligent and expressive, but he had this calmness about him that Atticus could definitely appreciate. Slowly the young Kalon stood, speaking to him the entire time, but not once did the Chryo make any move to attack or even run. It only took a few minutes for Atticus to be feeding him straight from his hands, and the beast was never anything but gentle; he had definitely be tamed previously, especially with how he was allowing Atticus to pet and love on him. An hour later, Atticus found himself sitting on the ground with the chimera's head in his lap, fast asleep, and finally got a chance to get a good look at the material around his neck. It was an old collar with a note tucked inside of it:

"To whoever finds this note, please take care of Samhain for me. He's a sweet, loving boy who needs a home now; he has chimerism, which is extremely rare and favorable in my village. I'm afraid the wilds will take my life, and very soon, so he's going to need a new partner. Love him like I did, treat him right, and he will never, /ever/ let you down. That's my final request. Sis salvus erit*." When Atticus looked up, he found the Chryo - Samhain - staring at him with curious, guarded eyes. The young Kalon went back to petting his face and neck, and the canid instantly relaxed. "Don't worry Samhain, I'm here now. You won't be alone again," he murmured. "I promise."

Ever since the day they met, Atticus and Samhain have been completely inseparable. Despite his intimidating, serious demeanor, Samhain is actually very affectionate and cuddly with the young Kalon; often times Atticus wonders if the canid has separation anxiety, because the Chryo cannot stand to be separated from him for more than a few minutes at a time. Samhain is extremely protective, almost to the point of possessive, and will go toe-to-toe with anyone or anything if it means protecting his partner. Where Atticus usually lacks in bravery and fighting skill, Samhain makes up for, while the Kalon is the Chryo's anchor and best friend, often acting as emotional support and helping him through his social awkwardness. Together they are going to become a top tier partnership, specializing in hunting, navigation, and search and rescue.
