Kalon name: Astrophel Sonnen (meaning: "star lover", "moon")

Good element: Astrophel is a deity - it is said that millions of years ago, he painted the sky with stars and formed the world as we know it. The world - his creation - was made to house and keep his seven children shielded from the hopeless tasks of a deity. He loves his children more than anything, going as far as creating seven continents in their honour, and would do anything to ensure their safety. Despite his immense power, he is a kind-hearted man who wishes to create balance in the world - to create peace and harmony, for the sake of his children. (100/100)

Bad element: Despite Astrophel's love for his children, his admiration for them makes him deadly - he's a deity, his children are the children of deities, they are his own and they are perfect in his eyes. His deep desire for them to be as perfect as possible can cloud his judgement and hurt those around him if his children aren't perfect in his eyes. He'll blame himself for being a bad father and act out of rage or desperation if his vision of perfection is disturbed. This hasty way of living and making decisions would ultimately be the deity's downfall. (100/100)

A situation in which they mix:
In the beginning, when the Earth was still young and inexperienced, there was chaos.

Since the dawn of time, war has waged between the mortal and undead - the young world was too small and could not sustain the two factions in a sensible manner. There was unrest, uncertainty if this new world could go on any longer before falling into complete discord. The deities wept over their creation - how could a product of love carry such hatred within itself? They agreed that something had to be done - the deities wished to erase their creation, to be rid of the sickness that plagued the fruits of their labour, to wipe out everything they had spent a thousand years meticulously shaping and forming to their will.

But Astrophel the World Deity disagreed. He had fallen in love with his creation and wished to salvage it, for he had fathered seven children and wished for them to grow up in the perfect world that he had envisioned for them. His love for the world he had created was only challenged by his love for his children - two beautiful, intelligent daughters and five charming, hardworking sons. He had created a seemingly perfect world for his children to grow up in, a world where he could ensure his children lived up to his expectations of perfection. Astrophel would quite literally move mountains for them if it meant he could ensure their safety and happiness.

So Astrophel did something dangerous and daring - in a desperate attempt to make his perfect creation perfect again, to restore harmony to his children's refuge, he tore a rift through reality, splitting the mortal and undead world in two halves. He had created two new planes for the factions to thrive in, separate from each other, yet they were still one. He carefully weaved strings of magic across the Earth - ley lines - as a way to sew the two planes together - intertwined, yet separate. Harmony was once again restored, but this feat of power cost him dearly - in the deity's rage that his creation wasn't as perfect as he envisioned, he had exhausted himself completely. With his last breath, he gifted his seven children with sight - the power to see into the future and to speak across realms, to reach out to the undead while still being mortal. In his desperation to ensure his sons and daughters would live the perfect life, he had now made them guardians of the magical ley lines - protectors of his life's work, a task greater than any other mortal could imagine - and he had no way to be there for them to make sure they did it perfectly.

With this last gift to his children, Astrophel fell into a seemingly endless slumber, unsure if he would ever wake to see his children again - and with the World Deity and their leader gone, the other deities retreated to the stars once more. He could no longer make sure his children were as perfect as he envisioned.

    (500/500)

    Extra 1:
The World Deity was surrounded by his children - the Earth and the world as we know it had just seen the light of day for the first time. He painted an image in the stars for them - a beautiful planet filled with lush forests, blue oceans and a vast wildlife, dotted with fluffy clouds in the skies. Seven pairs of eyes lit up with curiosity and admiration. The deity chuckled.

He picked up his eldest daughter, the apple of his eye, and carefully placed her on his knee. She excitedly reached her hands out to grab at the stars like her father did, but he gently lowered her hands. Her face turned into a frown and she crossed her arms. He smiled softly. "Now, now," he said, his voice crystal clear - yet ringing like an echo. "This is not yours to play with."

His daughter grew increasingly annoyed, and the World Deity could tell. He turned his attention to the stars again - and with one swift move, he rearranged them to form a new image. "Look at this," he cooed. "I made seven continents - one for each of you. That's how much I love you." His children were visibly excited by this, but his eldest daughter seemed unimpressed. "Well, where's my continent?"

The deity laughed and rearranged the image. He pointed towards the globe made of stars. "I call this one Europe - and it was made just for you, Selene." Selene's frown turned into a smile. "Europe... I like it."

Kalon name: Pazia

Good element: ~ 83 words

Pazia’s sister is the light of her life. When Zehavi was born, Pazia felt a special love and connection to her, that only strengthened as they aged and grew in friendship. While they were on the run, it seemed to Pazia that they lived only to hide and Zehavi was the one thing that kept her going. To Pazia, her sister is the only happiness in the darkness they are living in, and she would give up anything for her - and vice versa.

Bad element: ~ 99 words

Pazia is imprisoned. At birth it was discovered she could turn objects into gold. Her parents attempted to keep her ability quiet, but to no avail. Greedy kalons caught wind of her power, and sent hunters after Pazia, who burned down her home and killed her parents. Pazia took her sister, Zehavi, and fled. For a few years, she was successful in keeping them safe, living on the run. However, they couldn’t evade capture forever. The two were found and taken. Since then, Pazia has been forced to create gold, with the threat of Zehavi’s death hanging over her.

A situation in which they mix: ~ 500 words ~ 1 art piece

The click of a key in its hole, followed by a slight creak as the door swung open. A brief swathe of light spread through the small room and then was obscured by the shadows of five kalons entering the cell. The tallest one stepped forward with a sly smile on his face.

“You’ve had a long rest girl.” He sneered. “Now it’s time for you to get to work.” The kalon chained to the wall lifted her head.

“Kyran.” She rasped, her voice filled with a mix of anger and weary sadness. The tall kalon nodded.

“Yes. Now you heard me. Get to work.” His eyes narrowed. “Unless of course, you need some persuasion.” One of the guards shoved a thin figure forward, onto the ground. The kalon looked up, her face stained with tears.

“Pazia.” She choked out through quiet sobs. Pazia attempted to get to the kalon, but was pulled back by the chains. Tears leaked from her eyes as she glared at Kyran.

“You will pay for this.” She growled, her voice trembling. Kyran laughed.

“Of course, Pazia.” He replied condescendingly. “Now do it. Or else.” A guard stepped forward, a large crate in his paws. He set it down with a grunt and stood back. Pazia shot another glance at the kalon. Her poor Zehavi. Her sister who had gone through so much. Shaking, Pazia reached for the box.

Inside were dozens of stones, some smooth, some rough, all differently sized and colored. They had one thing in common; they were worthless. But Pazia could change that.

She stretched her paws out and picked up a heavy stone. She cradled it in her arms and scrunched her forehead in concentration. A moment passed and the weight increased. Now, in her grasp sat a shining hunk of metal. Gold. Kyran smirked in satisfaction.

“That wasn’t so hard, was it?” He motioned behind him and a guard produced a burlap sack. Reluctantly, Pazia dropped the stone inside.

“Good.” Said Kyran, with a nod. “Keep going.” For what seemed like hours, Pazia took stone after stone, transforming it and placing it into the continuously growing sack. With each rock, a bit of her energy seemed to vanish, replaced by weariness and rage. She was angry with Kyran, the guards, angry at herself. It was her fault that her parents were dead. Her fault that she and Zehavi were here. All her fault.

Pazia let her tears flow, until finally, the box stood empty. She collapsed against the wall, her entire body screaming in exhaustion. Kyran stood over her, emotionless.

“Get your strength up, girl. We’ll be back.” He dropped a small bread loaf and a bucket of water before her, and swept around out of the room, followed by the guards, two of whom held Zehavi between them. The door slammed shut and Pazia was plunged into a cold darkness.

And through that darkness, Pazia’s whispered words sliced through the silence like a knife.

“Gold is a curse.”

Feel free to send over a pm or trade, I’m interested in anything that’s on my wl. I also sporadically participate in user-made adoption centers.

kalon 1650 - gilded gold

Postby Guest » Tue Oct 08, 2019 11:00 am

      res ♥
'crowned' as one trait, still deciding whether it's good or bad pfft
lives on an island in the middle of nowhere, it's used as a trash dump but has residents who r basically stranded there n have developed ways of life on it. still figuring out how this kid washed up on it but he was worshiped upon being found by the residents because they believed him to have some kind of powers, despite him being v average ( besides physical traits which might have been one of the things that convinced the residents ), which they don't know ofc. he's rly humorous & sweet but feels the need to lie abt his actual mortality because it's gone too far @ this point n he's scared of what will happen if the residents realize he's not the god they thought he was. ( + it got out of hand in the first place bc of his tendency to not take things v seriously, when he started to get treated as more than he rly was all he did was laugh like " haha ok guys you're wrong but it's not a big deal i can be your god if u want. " but didn't realize how ,, serious it actually was n now they're way too convinced. ) probably include a story about him finally admitting he's not what the residents think he is i mean he tried to when they first put it upon him but again, didn't take it seriously enough / wasn't assertive enough :0c
