It took him a while to notice his own tail. But he remembers the day he did like it was yesterday...

Pinekit pounced on the leaf, and cried out happily. "Take that, you nasty fox!" He whipped around and snarled at a pincone. " yeah you better run, filthy badger!" He turned, glancing around for more ememies, when he spotted a puddle. He looked at it and found a watery pinekit looking back at him. Then his attention turned to something else. He nearly jumped out of his fur. eek! A fuzzy butt snake! he dashed away back to the nursery. He sprinted in circles around his mother, squealing " get it off! Get it off!" His mother rested her tail on his tiny shoulders. Pinekit settled down. "Pinekit, calm down before you wake the whole clan"
"But mommy the butt snake's got me!" He whined.
" butt snake?" She asked, tilting her head to one side.
" the thing i'am running from." He explained motioning with his head to his tail.
"Dewdrop, thats your tail. We all have one" she said calmly twitching her tail tip. Pine kit had never really thought about that.
" oh," he said embarrassed. His mother chuckled to herself. Pinekit was exhausted from a big day of adventuring, and curled up against his mother's flank.
